Needed a place to stay for one night, easy off and on the highway. Our site was clean and area maintained. Restrooms were spotless. We were a late arrival and had no issues.
Just overall bad feeling about the place

Then get military style recording telling us that after they process our check-in someone will come out to greet us and they will also give us a trash bag which we will use to place our trash at the end of our site upon our 11:00 a.m. checkout. Horrible welcome. I had my two grandchildren with me and made a point to find places with pools. When I called them, they confirmed they had a pool, but they didn't tell me it wasn't open. Lesson learned, should have asked. Gravel dusty roads and sites, picnic table next to sewer of neighbor. Children's playground has antique merry go rounds and slide; haven't seen them since I was a kid and I'm not young. Just overall creepy place. If just staying overnight, go to RVacation Campground not far in Selma. Much nicer feel. Didn't go in bath house so don't know about cleanliness.

It’s ok if fairly empty. Otherwise the sewer for site 34 is right in your face. They charge $5 a night for a fire ring. Most KOAs provide them free. I would stop for an overnight if traveling thru. Nice dog park. Nice staff.

Due to COVID, current check-in policy has you drive up to a roped off area where you call the office and they come out to you with your check in materials, drop the rope and escort you to your spot. Nothing but cotton fields around the campground. Nearest town of Enfield is sad and boarded up. You may be able to find a few essentials at the gas station… If you need anything else you will need to hit Rocky Mount, about 20 miles south. Sites by us were not level, there were five class A’s in a row our first night and none of us could level. A couple of the class A’s had the front wheels off the ground with multiple blocks under the jacks. We lived with a down hill slop in the coach for a few days… Space between sites is not great with no fire pits although we had a nice picnic table. It looked to us that most folks were using the park as an overnight stay while traveling or by the month while working local jobs. Off leash dog park was good size and stocked with bags. Pool was closed, not sure if for the season or due to COVID. We did not use the washrooms, so cannot comment on those. There are a lot of pine trees around so we did not get any reception on our SAT Dish. If you have a portable dish, you may be able to move it around and get a single. There were a number of on-air channels. We were able to stream Netflix and Amazon Prime Video using our phones as hot spots. Since it is fall, the pine needles on the trees are constantly falling on awnings and RV roofs.

Easy check-in and site escort as they don’t want you coming inside store. Pool was open. However, site was not level and previous campers left cigarette butts and trash which was not checked by groundskeeper. The area had a lot of rain recently and the design of property holds a lot of water including the pet walk fenced area. We spotted two snakes on same day near our site and called front office as children are playing. They said it’s due to amount of rain and didn’t bother to investigate. No fire rings but you can use their community fire grill to cook for extra $5.00. Not worth the price to stay again.

Good place to stop for the night. That pretty much says it all. Nothing fancy, but decently clean and maintained.

The park has definitely seen some improvements since our first stay in 2016. The staff is helpful and friendly. We didn't use any of the amenities like the pool (since it was winter), laundry or bathhouse but they appear to be clean and well maintained. We were in site #13 which was a very long and level gravel pull through with water and 30/50 amp electric but no sewer connection. Our view was of a cotton field across the street. We work from the road and are disappointed in the Wifi (they give you two 24 hour access codes for free) which is very slow and doesn't support streaming. Also, if you absolutely have to have cable (which we don't), this is a no go for you as they do not offer it. Also, the directions we received in our email confirmation read “From I-95 Exit 154 at Enfield. 1/2 mile west on Hwy 481. Make right turn into park after Drapers Road. Right on Bell Acres at the yellow KOA Journey sign.” To us, this was a bit confusing as it initially sounded like we would be making two right turns after exiting from I-95. In reality, you only turn once onto Bell Acres – after passing Drapers Road. The site we were in (#13) had a front row view of the entrance and we counted four rigs making a wrong turn onto Drapers Road and then having to find a turnaround and make their way back. This could be especially tricky for motorhomes towing that can’t back up.Overall, though, we have found this to be a nice, quiet and relaxing KOA and we would recommend it, especially for travelers looking for a convenient one night stopover with easy in/out access.
