We enjoyed staying here. The staff is friendly and helpful, the facilities are in good shape.We had full hookups at $50/night, so a bit pricey but not crazy expensive.The water from the hookup tasted terrible, so we did not drink it.

The campsite website has good directions you should follow.It’s not too long a drive into town and into the national park - maybe 20 minutes.Cell service was great on Verizon - in some parts of the park 10mbps down, in others closer to 25mbps down. AT&T no service. Trout fishing from your campsite and nearby if that’s what you’re into.No recycling on site, but there is one in Cherokee near the tribal offices / traffic circle if that’s important to you.If you have a bigger rig, it might be a little tight getting into your spot or the dump station.

We stayed here June of 2020, and it was near or at capacity the whole time. We were right on the creek with partial hookups. Sites on across the road near the office had full hookups. Watch out for big deer along the road back to Cherokee… 10 miles through the hills.

This is a small and very low key campground that is fairly close to Cherokee and the National Park. Many sites are right on a small creek that is perfect for the kids to play in. Many sites are right on a small creek that is perfect for the kids to play in. The campground is very clean and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. You definitely feel like you are in a state park more than a commercial campground. Most sites are fairly small so they would be tough for bigger campers or motorhomes. Location is a few minutes to Mingo falls and about 20 minutes to Cherokee. If you are looking for peace and quiet but want to have an easy drive to many things this campground is the perfect fit.

Definitely not you’re parking lot, crowded campground. Almost every site is on the water and if not it’s in view of the water. Sites are spacious and pretty private unless you need the full hookup. We stayed in 1b for two nights and wish we could’ve stayed longer. Falling asleep to the sounds of the rushing creek was amazing. The bathrooms were very clean, the store well-stocked and the staff incredibly kind and helpful. The real only downfall is that it’s about 30 minutes outside of town. But will definitely go back! Trout fishing is awesome close and Mingo Falls which is a must see. While they have WiFi, I was only able to access while very close to the store and not from our campsite.

Ok so this park truly deserves a 5 however if not for the fact we were parked just below 2 staff members trailers and they decided to pressure wash their trailers most the afternoons on 2 of our 4 days. Not considerate of the guest. I know it has to be done however!!! Now the good stuff. Well kept, clean, friendly people, Good location, relatively close to Cherokee and the Smokies. Wonderful sound of rushing water, shaded, large sites. Site 30 was a bit tricky to back into with our 25' Airstream, but with owners help it was not a problem.

Quiet, friendly, overall good experience

We arrived at about 6:00 PM which is office closing time, but the staff decided to remain for an additional hour so they could accommodate the late arrivals...very friendly!Our site was electric and water only with easy access to the dump station. We positioned our RV within 15 feet of Bunches Creek, which provided a beautiful view...moreWe arrived at about 6:00 PM which is office closing time, but the staff decided to remain for an additional hour so they could accommodate the late arrivals...very friendly!Our site was electric and water only with easy access to the dump station. We positioned our RV within 15 feet of Bunches Creek, which provided a beautiful view from the comfort of our sleeping quarters. It was so wonderful to sleep to the sound of the rushing waters and awake to its view. The water is crystal clear (see photo). There is a fish cleaning station that has two large sinks, cleaning surfaces and waste barrels. The staff is very helpful and friendly, willing to explain the fishing rules and provided advice regarding Cherokee laws and regulations. I was worried about black bears, but the staff assured me there are no problems whatsoever at the campsite. Access was easy for our class B RV. We followed the advice on the Indian Creek Campground website. Be sure to head towards Cherokee on US 441, then get on Big Cove Road (1410), then then turn right on Bunches Creek Road and head for about 1 1/2 miles in. All of the sites are gravel. Site 2, where we stayed, shares a common driveway with site 1, but it was not a problem. Leveling ramps were able to do the job. I attempted to wade up the stream just for the adventure (no fishing gear), but the rocks are very loose and the banks of the creek are steep. A couple of people did fish from our site for a few minutes, but we didn't mind because of the difficultly of wading the stream. Hiking requires a short drive to Oconaluftee River Trailhead and Mingo Falls. Rather than leaving our site, I decided to walk south on Bunches Creek Road which follows the creek and got some beautiful views (see pics). As for negatives, it just depends on what you want. Bunches Creek is the main attraction, hiking trails are a short drive away, stream fishing is a bit of a challenge but a trio of fishermen were successful. There is a small playground for children, but I think they will have far more fun in the water. Also, pick you site carefully as some are right off the road with no view of the water. The full hookup sites have no view of the water either but everyone in the campground can certainly hear the stream. There is no cellphone coverage and the campground WiFi signal is very weak but usable for a quick text. Wonderful place to stay, will stay again!

The site was pretty large, level, and had unparalleled views and access to Bunches Creek. The stream is normally perfect for wading and fishing (stocked by the Cherokee tribe once per week), although it did become a little high and fast-moving after a few days of non-stop torrential rain. However, according to the staff on-site, you’re at a higher elevation and upstream enough where flash flooding isn’t an issue (which proved to be true for us). Whether it was gently babbling or angrily rushing, the creek provided a beautiful backdrop to our site, and we really enjoyed seeing, hearing, and playing in it. In terms of shade and privacy, while there were plenty of trees throughout the CG, the creekside sites were pretty tightly packed in, with very little (if any) privacy in between. Understandable, given the prime real estate of the creek. They did have other, more private and wooded sites further away from the water, but if we returned, I’d be willing to forgo some privacy to be on the creek again.Facilities/Overall Park: Bath house was a bit dated, but spotlessly clean. I was there a LOT during the week (mostly accompanying my toddler), and I feel like there was a staff member in there cleaning and/or restocking at least every other time we were there. Showers were nice and roomy, they had a dehumidifier going the whole time, and it always smelled fresh and clean. Nice pavilion next to the bath house with TV and Wifi. Laundry room was adequate, but smelled a bit like mildew. Camp store was very well-stocked but pricey, and the owners and all staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The only thing I felt was missing was a large dedicated dishwashing sink; that’s one of those things that makes my life so much easier when we camp, and I was pretty surprised they didn’t have one, since they had everything else so well-covered.Surrounding Area/Attractions: There is no shortage of things to do and see in Cherokee. It definitely sees less visitors and publicity than the TN side of the Smokies, but it is absolutely worth a visit. There is some great hiking, waterfalls (Deep Creek, Mingo Falls and Soco Falls are must-sees), and tubing in the area. The Cherokee tribe also offers some amazing, quality cultural sites and activities, such as the Museum of the Cherokee Indian, Oconaluftee Indian Village, and Unto These Hills. They were all pretty pricey, but worth it. The Oconaluftee Visitor Center is another essential stop for those interested in the national park. As far as services go, there is a hospital in Cherokee, and several gas stations, but no big-box stores. There is a Food Lion on the outskirts of town, and a fair amount of restaurants in the area, most of which are of the family/casual variety (Wize Guyz Grill was very good). There is also a big casino/resort and golf course, but we didn’t visit any of those. Finally, there are kitschy shops galore, so very easy to find any and every type of souvenir.Overall, this was a great campground in a beautiful location, albeit a bit far from town (a good 20-minute drive). There are quite a few campgrounds in the area (including a KOA and Jellystone within a few miles), but based on what we saw driving by, I would likely pick Indian Creek again. If they added a dishwashing station, it would be darn near perfect!

I stayed along Bunch Creek and the difference in price is well worth it.The bath house is spotless and well ventilated. The complete campground has plenty of shade and there is a lot of privacy between sites. It's hard to find but well worth the effort. The new owners have been on the property for 2 years and put a lot of pride, sweat and elbow grease in the property to make it a premier campground. You pass a number of other campgrounds on your way to Indian Creek. None of them compares to what Indian Creek has to offer.Will definitely be back to this neck of the woods in my Class C Winni View.

Pitched my tent right by the river, listened to the creek run all night. Beautiful site, great campground, looking forward to returning with a little tent camper this time.There was no cell service when we were there, total bliss.

We have a 25’ Airstream and with a little help from Jon, the owner of the campground, we were able to back in to this wonderful site. This site is the most private site in the campground, but, know that if someone is in site 2 the only access is through your site. Our friends had to cancel their trip with us and had originally booked site 2. Luckily for us no one else choose this site and we had complete privacy. The site is right beside Bunches Creek and the sound of the water is wonderful. The campground is clean and nicely landscaped. The bathrooms are spotless and the showers clean and hot. The camp store is well stocked and firewood can be bought and delivered right to your site. Far enough away from Cherokee and the KOA’s but an easy drive into town and the National Park. My idea of a perfect campground. We have already booked for next spring since the good sites book up fast.
