We stayed here while visiting friends in Charlotte. We didn't go to the amusement park, or use any of the facilities. The site was level, with plenty of space between RV's. We had a picnic table and a charcoal grill on the site. No recyling here which I found strange.

Our site was paved and level with full hookups, cable with 50 and 30 amps. Bath houses were nice and clean and there were always staff out and about picking up sticks and trash. They have laundry, pool, cabins and a campground store. We felt safe and never had any trouble at all. Plenty of places to walk the dogs around. The WIFI was amazing. Wife was able to have video conference without any issues at all. Only issue was the constant planes flying over from Charlotte. Very close to restaurants and Cabalas. Overall one of our favorite campgrounds so far.
Surprised by such a lovely campground!

It was a little tough to access because of how close the spot directly across was, we had to drive uncomfortably close to their truck while backing in, but no harm came from it. We were extremely pleased that our site backed up to thick woods, giving the feeling of relative isolation, on that side at least. There were mature trees throughout our portion of the camp ground, providing nice shade. The bathrooms were clean. We didn’t use any of the additional amenities offered, but they looked clean and well-kept.

The adjacent amusement park is closed due to Covid but i bet it is a blast to stay here when it is open. Wooded perimeter so you feel you are away from the city. Drawbacks: very few- we were invaded by ants but they came and went( could happen anywhere), the roads between the sites we a bit tight- it did not effect us as the park was not full but it could be a problem in peak season.

Another annoying factor is that they are listed as a Good Sam park, but did not give us a discount. They charge extra for pull thru's which we did not pay and the back ins were very easy to get into, so not worth paying the extra charge. That is the reason we did not give an all star rating. That being said, it is a very nice park with easy access to all attractions and shopping. The staff is wonderful, we had our mail forwarded from home to this park and they delivered to our door when it arrived instead of just calling.

The sites were actually a little larger than I'd expected, with plenty of grass between sites and trees throughout the campground (it looked more like a county park would look). It rained during most of our stay, and some sites were more flooded than others... in fact, the camping area of the site we were assigned was under a couple inches of water so they let us pick a different site which worked out better. The park is dog-friendly and we found plenty of places to walk ours. The campground has an RV section, tent section, and cabin section, all slightly separated from each other. It's a short drive to many stores and restaurants in the area. The free WiFi worked quite well for us, but being December the campground was mostly empty which likely contributed to the good performance. Verizon and AT&T also worked well. There was some noticeable highway noise all day long but it was not too bad. The campground is literally on the NC/SC border (the state border divides Carowinds in half), and gas in SC is around 30 cents cheaper per gallon, so it pays to figure out which direction to drive when exiting the campground to fill up! We'd stay here again when visiting Charlotte.
