Staff at check in was very helpful with suggestions for area hiking and kayaking and supplied maps to get to the locations. The CG is located near Saratoga Springs, NY (approx 12 miles) which has a nice downtown shops and restaurants and a wonderful state park, Saratoga Springs SP. Be sure to stop by. Saratoga Lake and Great Sacandaga Lake (15 miles) for kayaking. The Hennig Preserve offered an easy hike of just under 5 miles. Plenty of pines and creeks. The campground was a bit tired although the bathroom facilities were recently redone. Very clean and showers were warm with good water pressure. Our site 28 was wooded with full hookups but surrounded by older seasonal campers (rigs not people). The open area sites looked fine and I think we would have preferred one of those sites. The CG was quiet during our midweek stay. Both 30 amp power and water pressure was good. The gravel on our site and some of the road ways on the wooded side of the CG could be refreshed and the site wasn't as level as I would have liked but manageable. Verizon Cell had 3 bars but no WiFi.
Nice folks, park needs work.

Owners are the nicest folks you could meet. The park needs work. Gravel, pull through sites need serious leveling, our rear wheels were 3" off the ground. 30A power only for FHU's, bath & showers are kept clean but need some "attention" (modernizing & finish the remodeling projects out). Not a lot of activities available and the park is 15 miles from town. Gravel driveway needs work.
