It's so beautiful here, the waterfront sites are awesome. Great roped off swimming area, we used our paddleboard, swam and snorkeled and used the pool. We did luck out with awesome weather.

We were all snowbirds a few years ago, living on boats in Boot Key Harbor for four winters. This year, my husband, two small dogs and I were in our RV. We'd contacted several RV parks. Everything was full -- or very expensive. We were extremely lucky to get a site at Jolly Roger just two weeks before the reunion. It was a new park to us. We were familiar with other RV parks near Marathon with crowded sites which were just a place to park. We thought that was what we were getting until we actually saw it.Jolly Roger was a great surprise -- clean, neat, well maintained, well organized, attractive, with lots of activities there or nearby (Dolphin Research Center, for one). It is a destination itself. There is a large Tiki hut area near the beach and a tiny marina for fishing boats, a pool, a Bark Park, nice restrooms/showers, a pool and a laundry with new machines we didn't use. They seem to have planned gatherings weekly, like a wine and cheese social. Site size is relative. We were in an Interior site (#61). It seemed a reasonable size to us in a hugely popular area. Our dogs chose this trip not to be friendly with other pups, so we mainly walked them on the grass near the entrance. Cost is relative, too. This is a higher daily rate than we ever paid, but this IS the Keys in the high season. We were looking at paying twice as much at other parks (if they'd had an opening) for not as nice of a place. We realized how lucky we were that they fit us in when our neighbor told us he'd called 700 times in order to book his site. He said to persevere. We wish we'd been able to spend more time there, but left each morning to be with our friends. If life takes us back to the Keys, Jolly Roger is where we will try to stay.

We totally fell in love with this place. We stayed in Interior Plus sites, and, the Seawall and Interior Plus sites are the ones we’d choose when staying again. This is a big snowbird destination and we met the sweetest people that have been coming to this park every winter for many years. The office will accept mail/packages and the campground has a laundromat available. Laundry is a bit pricey, but everything is in the keys, so it was expected. There is a wonderful swim area along the seawall. We saw lots of birds, fish, stingrays, jellies, and even a few dolphins and nurse sharks. Cell service was great for remote work and we had no issues staying connected with AT&T and Verizon.

The best thing about this park is the lovely corner they have set aside to watch the sunset! It’s a beautiful part of the property. The rest is pretty close quarters. Lots of boats along with RVs. Laundry is VERY expensive. Nice to be in middle of the keys. So much fun surrounds!

We watched the sunset every night and this place beats Mallory Square in Key West any day!! Having the gulf water right outside our site we never once went to the pool. The beach area is great for laying out during the day and taking in the sunset at night. I never wanted to leave! WiFi was strong, phone service was great. We had no issues with bugs due to the constant breeze. We saw looks of sea life snorkeling but bring your water shoes because it is rocky.

I am experienced and can back up a trailer quite well. The park employee had to use a tractor to put our trailer into the very tiny space. There was no room to park our tow vehicle so we had to park right on topo of the next site's concrete pad. When someone showed to the site next to us they couldn't put out their awning because our truck was in the way.The park was very full and there was very little space between campsites.\Considering the premium price we had to pay for this park I felt we should have at least gotten a site that was longer than our trailer. The wifi service was slow and not enough bandwidth to use our streaming TV service. The cable service had only 8 stations.

Fast forward many years and I’m back and couldn’t be happier. I ranked them #1 back in the 90’s, but now they’re off the chart. Cleanliness, fun, ac pool (which is nice in the 100 degree summers), laundry mat, awesome bathrooms and the people who work & camp there are super friendly and fun. You can’t lose at this camping facility. What’s also IMPORTANT is they’re “pet friendly”, so my girls are able to vaca with me #WinWin Also, to all my fellow Law Enforcement brothers and sisters, they offer a nice discount. I’m sure this applies to all first responders. *Close to Marathon (favorite Key)*Publix, Kmart, dive center and airport close by*Dolphin center*Turtle Hospital So much to do nearby! A couple sites had loud music playing during the day but night was quiet. Of course there were unattended children running around though - parents don’t parent anymore. We don’t stay in the parks much - more of a “home base” to explore the area so this worked well for us. WiFi was slamming good, and we had decent wireless reception. The laundry facilities were clean and all machines operational - and none smelled icky. There are lizards. From little bitty to big iguanas. But they run from you so no big deal. And personally I love seeing the wildlife

I bike and camp the length of the Keys. Jolly Roger is a nice location with tent camping right next to the water. Clean facilities, friendly office staff. Picture doesn't show my tent set up yet and I don't remember how many bars on Verizon, I had good service so I guessed at 4 bars.

We had a great time here. The kids loved the pool but would have liked it if it had stayed open a little longer. Our site was very rocky and it was difficult to stake the tent down. The facilities and staff were very nice. I’m sure we’ll be back in the future.

The scenery is gorgeous sitting as it does on the gulf of Mexico’s prettiest water. Lots of wildlife to enjoy including occasional visits from manatees. Management and staff are very professional and pleasant to deal with. The Jolly Roger has the best sunset views in the keys and we have witnessed numerous green flashes while staying there.

We enjoyed our stayed. The resort is well maintained. The waterfront is this park's best feature---good for fishing and snorkeling when the visibility is good.

The crew was nice and accommodating. The spots are all grass/gravel but ours was perfectly level and there was a brick paver patio. Pool was nice. It's a bit of a hike to Key West but Marathon is nice in it's own right. The price was the cheapest we could find in the keys as well. We would definitely stay here again.

Because it was off season we have our pick of sites (except the waterfront sites which weren't included in the special rate). However, we found a great site with shade trees and an east- facing exposure (which is absolutely necessary in Florida in the summer)!!! It was also close to the lovely pool, extremely clean bathrooms, laundry, and the water, and boat ramp. The site was a very nice size with plenty of shade. It was very quiet at this time of year. The site was grassy with a large cement pad and picnic table. Lots of cable channels too. WiFi was OK for the most part.I think some of the sites may be close together in other parts of the camp but the center and Premium sites were quite large. We brought our boat, used their boat launch, and docked it in their harbour. It was perfect.I also like being in Marathon as there's plenty of places to eat and things to do and not too far from Key West, Islamarada, etc.

Always enjoy staying here on the waterfront, wasn’t very crowded in August. We live in North Florida and always enjoy the Keys. We were born and have lived in Florida our whole lives (67 years). So much to do in Florida.

Only thing was our campsite when it rained it flooded and once it receded it was muddy so we couldn't use the outdoor kitchen a few times because it was to deep. The service guy did say that if it kept happening he would pump it out but it was almost our last night staying, notice dog crap on our site and that's not what you want to be standing in when the waters deep. The park guy said they were going to be redoing the sites which should help a lot. Notice to many dogs not on there leashes unsupervised. Would definitely camp and recommend here again just on another site.

After a very long drive (because of truck issues), we arrived after the office was closed, but the paperwork was there waiting for us just outside the office. Hookup was easy, and we loved the site location. It wasn't on the water, but we still had some waterviews, and it was a short walk to the water, pool, bathrooms, and office. The amenities were great. Pool was chilled perfectly, bathrooms were very clean, and being able to snorkel just off of the beach was great. Being a Gulf coast resident, we again had the pleasure of beautiful sunsets each night. The next morning when I went into the office, the staff referred me to some places to get my truck worked on, and the referral was fantastic. We love Marathon, and hope to move there someday (preferably sooner than later). Looking forward to heading back to Jolly Roger again soon! Our new favorite park!

Unless we can't and then we try to do our best for the time and place. We are usually lucky because we fly by the seat of our pants usually booking places when we arrive or on our drive to our new location. We might be in Haines one day and then boom six days later we are outside of Baltimore. So when we couldn't book Coral Reef State park and didn't have a place for the night. We pre booked sights down on Key West for both Thanksgiving and my birthday, but we needed to kill a night so we ended at the mediocre camp ground the Jolly Roger. The park has a lot of potential being right on the water with a pool and a beautiful dock and a bout launch, but the sights are small the grass is funky. For it's location it fared well for the hurricane and the price wasn't bad compared to other private camp ground on the water in Florida where we payed 100 bucks or more.

It was pricey (like all private parks in the Keys), but had a nice relaxed vibe, staff were really friendly, sunsets were great, location was good and the sites were decent. Plus it was super dog-friendly.The campsites are definitely not fancy. They're just just grassy/bare-ground sites with full hookups (including cable TV) and somewhat varying size and quality. Pretty typical private park side-by-side arrangement although there’s decent vegetation/trees throughout to break up the monotony. What you pay for the sites varies by type. Interior sites are the smallest (and cheapest $84/night) and many rows here have RVs both to the side and in the back of them. The sites closest to the road (#112-130) get quite a bit of road noise and would be my least favorite choice, but the sites in the middle of the campground were quiet, decently roomy and much nicer. Interior Plus ($90/night) and Premium sites ($93/night) are the longest/widest and almost all provide plenty of space for any-sized rig. Seawall sites ($95/night) have full water-views, but vary a bit in size -> sites #159-170 are somewhat short and close together whereas sites H1-H5 are “prime” with lots of space and some of the very nicest views in camp. We had an Interior site smack in the middle of the campground (#27) and really enjoyed it. We had trees/shade, a lovely “sitting area”, zero road noise and were close to both the on-site off-leash dog park and the water. From the park we enjoyed easy sightseeing trips into Marathon, Big Pine and Key West as well as daily dips in the heated pool and sunsets by the water (complete with traditional Conch Call). We enjoyed our stay and would come again.On-site WiFi was free, but not really usable. However GREAT cell signal (ATT, Verizon & T-Mobile). Also you can get weekly/monthly and season-based discounts depending on when you come. Passport America does apply in off-season (staring April).

This park has tight interior roads not big rig friendly. Sites are very close together. Bath/shower was not kept clean, someone had a blowout in toilet and the shower had snot and all manner of filth on the wall.Sugar ants were problematic. There was a constant sewer odor throughout the park. Garbage is only picked up curbside at 0900 hrs. daily & the park requires you not put garbage out until morning. Keeping garbage in rig lends to sugar ant problem. The pool was nicely maintained but not enough chairs available for guests.

We move on Monday to a sea wall site with the back window 10 ft from the water. JR is expensive, but in line with other RV parks in the keys. Lots of trees and grass. Sites are close together- not spacious like the state parks. The park sponsored a pulled pork dinner (free) last night. About 100 campers came and brought a covered fish to share. Campers know how to cook!
