Hickory Ridge had been our go-to RV park since 2008 staying there at least twice per year for 14 consecutive years. During this time we have also seen a decline in the quality of our stays, especially in the past 3-4 years. The park has added over 100 sites since our first visit in 2008 (original site count was 55) and the timing of the decline in quality seems to be commensurate with the sharp growth in size. That being said, there are still many positive aspects to the park that hopefully will not slowly fade as well. Among them: Most sites are large and are fairly level. w/s/e hook-ups are reliable and convenient. Our last site (9/2021) had brand new picnic table and decent fire ring. Office/store was well stocked and staff was pleasant. We did not use the pool, but it has always been in good condition (albeit small for the number of sites). Adjacent golf course is a huge plus for golfers. The bar at the clubhouse is a nice feature and the staff during our last visit were friendly and attentive (Vicki and Allie). And now for the negative. WiFi has not worked well or AT ALL for our last 3 or 4 stays (over 1 year). Cable at several sites barely works (most channels were distorted and unwatchable). Upon notifying the office, the response is always, “we keep telling the cable provider….”. Garbage used to be picked up at your site daily and now it must be carried to the dumpster by the office (significant distance from newest section). Typically upon arrival at our site the fire pit is full of ashes and debris from previous campers. Grass around site was not mowed upon arrival to our site several times. There is no “After hours” phone number posted in the event management needs to be contacted after hours. While visiting the bar during our last stay (9/2021), the TV’s did not work (both bartenders had no clue why). To sum up our feelings on the management of the park, it would be that they are not at all focused on the “little things” that make a guest have a truly enjoyable RV Resort experience. They do call themselves an “RV Resort” after all and not simply a campground.

Pro:Beautiful locale, large sites, many shaded. Excellent golf course at reasonable greens fees. Complimentary golf carts to campers. Restaurant way above average.Con:Small laundry ( 2 washers). Smaller bathrooms ( 1 men's stall for the main camping area). No recycling. NOT fisherman friendly. Large bass pond touted in brochure, but inaccessible from shore. No watercraft allowed except for rentals at $5 hr. ( why not complimentary like golf carts?)Kids want to sleep in a tent? $25 bucks a nite for tents. Frustration at little gouges taints an otherwise 5 star outfit.
