This is the fourth time I’ve been here and it’s consistently excellent. I don’t have any negatives at all.

  • Great for over night camping. Would stay here again.

Normal KOA check in process and then we made our way to our site. Site 46 was grass covered which was a surprise. There were large black rocks/gravel mixed in the grass and you could not see them until you stepped on them and turned an ankle. the site was a great length, but the spots are very close to each other. There were lots of dead trees in the park overall when they should still be covered in leaves. The wifi was spotty at best so don't count on that. Next time I would plan to go farther either direction and stay at a different stop.

Like the grass between the sites also, so much better than a chalk line or spray paint. The issues I have are 1) the store is not open except to staff members so even to get a bag of ice you have to call someone on the walkie talkie attached to the door. 2) we specifically choose this campground because it advertised a cafe where they would deliver to you campsite. We saw a menu posted but when we asked we were told the cook had an accident so there was no cafe. Okay, accidents happen but maybe they could have told us on check in so we could make a different dinner plan. One last thing that was a little irritating is the sign asking self contained units not to use the campground bathroom. Please see sign attached. We are self contained but we often prefer to shower in the campground bathroom because it is bigger and if there are several people traveling with us we need the overflow. Seemed a bit petty to me and we have not seen that sign anywhere before.

The 2 ⭐s are for still being open. The park has not been maintained. Many dead trees, overgrown, no working WiFi, and... the biggest problem....IF YOU HAVE DOGS: CAUTION!! Our site was completely full of foxtail (which can be deadly to dogs), as was their dog park area. It is 106゚right now and unsafe to walk the dogs (if I can't stand barefooted without burning my feet neither can my dogs) even on the mostly dirt roads. Obviously they have no control over the heat, however they do over their property, or should. There is shade in the dog park, but it is covered in foxtail so we can't use it. On the plus side, our hookups work and they do offer food delivery to your site. We got two 8" pizzas and they were okay. The bath house facilities are adequate, but old. There were only 3 small shower stalls in the bathouse near our site but the building was clean and air conditioned. If the other bathouse in the front is as small the facilities are not sufficient for the size of the park. All-in-all, pretty awful. We won't be returning.

To be honest, I expect a level safety at KOA’s, so the kids and dog can get out to exercise after a long day on the road. This was not the case. The “roads” are old gravel and we arrived after a rain shower, I was stepping in mud inches deep just to take the dog for a pee. I would only recommend if you are arriving late and leaving early, it is quiet. No other quality amenities to speak of.

Stayed here August 24, 2020. Host was prepared to register us and guide us to our pull through site. This campground is all about location being next to the interstate. Of course there is some noise from interstate but it was very quiet at night. Had good AT&T signal and good local over the air TV. Cable TV was good also.

However the office was well stocked, with incredibly friendly hosts who didnt have the fake happy “WELCOME TO THE KOA!” like some of the bigger corporate ones do. It was nice to be able to talk to such genuine people. They offered local recommendations and chatted with me while I waited for food from their cafe. Our spot was right next to the restroom, and it was nicely renovated. The showers were a little odd in that the changing stalls were short - I could see over them, and I’m 5’7”. The laundry was on the more expensive side but that’s just a KOA for you.

Some interstate noise, not too bad though. The bathrooms were very clean. Our site was on the end of a row and shared a water spigot that had two adapters connected to it. It got down to 26 that night so we had to turn the main off and leave the adapters open. We had two kids with us and the playground was pretty fun, although dated. Actually, some of the equipment may have been there when I stayed here as a kid over 30 years ago! It's still pretty unique and the kids had fun on it. Pool was obviously closed!
