The park is actually on old Route 66. We drove through town and followed Route 66 as we left. It was definitely interesting. The 4-star rating is due to the grumpy gentleman at the front desk when I had a question about the bathroom I had tried to use (no toilet paper). We appreciated our pull-through level site, the dog park area, and the wi-fi. Also, this park houses animals (horses, llamas, etc.) in pens on-site for folks traveling through the area. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting some horses that were staying there when we did. The RV park was very convenient to I-40. I saw that there are new owners for the park. I certainly wish them the best and will hope to meet them if we come through there again.

We heard Road noise. However. If you want to be close to the interstate, you will get some. Didn't bother us. Would definitely stay here again if passing through. Great wifi available free to guests

However, this town has so many great Route 66 things to see that we wanted to go explore a bit. Level gravel pull-thru with full hookups. Had laundry but closes at 7:00pm. One unique amenity is a vehicle / RV washing pad for $10! There is also a car wash by the grocery store that has one bay tall enough to pull in an RV. Have never come across that before. If interested, there is a great 18 hole frisbee golf course just west of town! Don't miss eating at Del's Restaurant and seeing the Blue Swallow Motel especially at night so you can see the neon signs!

Clean shower house, has laundry (although didn’t use). The sites are full hook up and very level. Easy in and out. Good Sam members get a discount. Even though the owners are very friendly, their office is particularly unwelcoming. Unfortunately, the owners feel the need to express their political views quite aggressively in the office with lots of political bumper stickers and posters and messages and it is quite off putting to say the least. It is misguided to think you will change someone’s mind by posters at a business, but this can only mean they are telling certain customers they are not welcomed. It worked. We won’t be back. Actions like this only create more divisiveness in a country that definitely needs the opposite. We will choose to leave our money elsewhere next time we are traveling through Tucumcari and support businesses who are businesses for all customers.

Check in was a simple process. However, the person checking us in was rude, lectured on rules versus simply telling us, and charged us $2 for being 50 minutes early. Our bad on being early as we didn’t realize the time change to Mountain time was so soon traveling West and even mentioned this to the man checking us in. We were then escorted to FHU pull through site 42. We were again sternly warned that their water pressure is around 90 psi and had to use our pressure regulator directly on their faucet. They also have them in the office if you don't have one, probably charge a fee/deposit, but not sure since we didn't need to use theirs. Our neighbors in 41 arrived soon after us and were checked in and escorted by another person. They were also charged $2 and that person was also rude so, at least they’re consistent. If you look at the rules on their website, the number one rule is, there is a fee for arriving early. Utilities were placed in the center of pad so that was nice. Sites are very close together. WiFi was spotty but we got quite a few OTA channels. We got 4 bars on Verizon. There are horse stables, showers, and laundry here but not much else concerning amenities, which was fine as we were just here overnight. There’s a small fenced dog area and we were told dogs must be on a 6’ leash but their rules brochure states 10’? There are no decent areas to walk your dog. Essentially, the CG is a large gravel parking lot with long termers and plenty of transient sites. We were here on a Wednesday to Thursday and as the afternoon and evening progressed, they packed in the overnighters. We toured Tucumcari and saw a few neat murals but this little Route 66 town has seen better days. Based on how we and other campers were treated plus other options in the area, we will not stay here again.

The site was a buddy site but our neighbors were friendly. The campground is next to a large road so there was road noise. It did quiet down quickly at night. It was very windy even though the day in general did not have much wind. There are corrals for horses here and a small dog park. My Australian shepherd had just space to get up to speed and then turn. There is very little grass in the campground, which was an issue for my dog as we are from east of the Mississippi and she is used to using grass. My 29 foot trailer was easy to park and there were multiple big rigs in the spaces. One should note that I saw a large Class A almost scrape it's rear on the entrance dip. If you have a lot of overhang beyond your back tire it's best to enter the lot at an angle. There was free wifi but it was very slow. I had 3 bars of Verizon 4G.

When we arrived it all changed suddenly. We were greeted gruffly, and we know this greeting. We are experienced RV's but we take Covid seriously and the staff did not wear masks but did wear a heavily badged hat with lots of references to their service in the military. I wore a mask and I feel that was the source of the gruffness. He was gruff and condescending, as if wearing a mask made me deaf or stupid. Caution: their water pressure is too high and will blow your hose. They have blown hoses on display and lecture you about how YOU need to remedy this. You will need a pressure regulator on hand. They do not sell them or lend them but he had one right there on his desk and used it to ask "Do you have one of these?". I made the mistake of asking if I could borrow the one he had sitting right in front of him but he said rather forcibly "NO!" This seemed strange for a property that has out of control water pressure that is damaging property. I have seen parks with this problem before and they install them on the water feeds, but not here. There were signs, I kid you not, every 10 feet throughout the park telling you what to do and what not to do. One of the stranger signs was that no more than two people in the bathroom/ shower facility at a time unless you were a parent and child. What did they think was going to happen? Prostitution? This was not a truck stop. My wife and I do not trust most parks and often attend the shower facilities at the same time, just like in our home. At another point I walked the 50 paces to the dog park to run my dog but realized I forgot my ball. So I went the 50 paces to my RV and retrieved my ball. In that short time the gruff staff man was there on his golf cart telling me that I can not leave my dog there unattended! I said I just went to get the ball. And he laughed. But by this point I was no longer feeling welcome. I don't know if they have a serious problem with all their customers and keep things on the straight and narrow with such enforcement or if they are just rule obsessed. But I am a good judge of character and I felt very judged when I walked in. I am 57 years old, I have no reason to be judged, I just wore a mask. On the good side, the WIFI was possibly the best I have seen.

We provided all information and credit card and were assured that our package would be at the board outside the office. It was not. We had to enter the office to check-in with the staff who disregarded the ‘mask required’ sign on the door and any attempt at social distancing. The park itself is all gravel with very close spacing. It would be three stars save for the negligence of the staff in respecting basic COVID guidelines.

This is a no frills RV park, but was great for an overnight stay and we actually stayed on our to and our way back from Colorado. Not much shade, but offers full hookups, sites were level and WiFi worked great. Park was very easy on and off I-40. Hosts were very friendly.

I really like the friendly people that run the place, and that it's well kept. I think reasonably priced. We had some unforeseen excitement. A construction company cut a power line somewhere in town, and we lost power for a couple of hours. It was bad since the temperature was about 106. BUT, this not anyone at the RV park's fault. I switched to my generator, as others did. Staff kept me informed, and it all came back on in a couple of hours. For me, not a big deal. It was a good generator test.. :-). You do get a little highway noise, but that's to be expected when you are looking for and staying at a location convenient to said highway. And it really didn't bother me. I'm just noting it.

Pulled in w/o a reservation or calling. Just needed a quick place to overnite with FHU. Staff was so friendly and helpful. We were guided to our site which was easy to pull into. Spots were clean and level. Super deal for the low price of $25! Definitely will keep on our list of stopovers!

Quiet RV park with pull through sights. Fairly level sights with full hookups. Also has a small bathroom/shower attached to the main building. Also has a small fenced area for dogs but they have to stay on leashes. The owner was real nice! Would stay again.

Called the day before and made a reservation. No fuss there, Didn't even have to provide a payment card. Arrived, was offered a veteran's discount (i'm a veteran). Soon after escorted to my site. These guys that run this place are awesome, friendly and helpful. I'd stay here again for sure...

The brothers are doing a good job. New bathrooms are underway. 3 of the nicest hosts we have met. Two good places to eat in town. Del's for dinner and Watson "hardware store and BBQ" A real country hardware store with great bbq in house. Also the dinosaur museum is a real find. It is associated with the college.

The owners are very helpful and friendly. Finally, the laundry room is awesome! Big new residential style machines; no quarters needed its $3 per load at the front desk to wash and dry. All in all we give this place 5 thumbs up and we will definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

The park was full the night we stayed there. Not able to connect to the free park wifi. The price was right ($12 plus tax using Passport America). Did not disconnect the tow vehicle so not sure of any restaurants and or tourist attractions nearby. Also, we recommend not traveling on highway 39 north of Tucumcari with motorhome/trailer. Lots of highway construction delays north of town plus the road was very bumpy.

The new owners have this park, neat, clean and are very hospitable. They even take you to your site and make sure all is well. Level, gravel lots, great hook ups. They have a clean, neat laundry area. One bathroom and shower area, just like home (so their might be a slight delay if they were super busy), but I doubt you will find a cleaner one. Trash receptacles conveniently located. Dog run and even places for horses. Not to close to the road so noise didn’t seem to be a problem. An exceptional value in our opinion.

We were headed from Albuquerque to Wellington, TX for Nomad Fest and wanted to have a little stopover in Tucumcari to check out some of the Route 66 nostalgia. We got on Campendium and looked for RV parks and this one came up. We then googled it and read the reviews. People were raving about the new ownership and all of the positive updating and upgrades being done to the park.I called from the road and they were almost full but had a space for us. We were not going to be arriving until about 8 pm and they said they would be there for us. We showed up and were greeted by a very friendly host (one of the owners) who checked us in and lead us to our spot, in the dark with the wind blowing and the temp about 40 degrees. We set up our rig and settled in. The next morning we discovered the dog park which our crew loved and visited the office to join Passport America and pay for the next two nights. This place is neat! It is right on Historic Route 66, close to town, clean, well kept, has shower and laundry facilities, nice level and large spaces and even horse pens if you are horse people. It is a quiet park with full hookups and reasonable rates ($24 a night for 30 amp and $25 a night for 50 amp), half off your first night with PA.We will definitely be coming back to stay here again!
