Level sites, quiet location, spotless bath/shower room. Everything was nicely maintained. We’re not crazy about RV parks, but this one was top notch.

However for me it’s always the people who make it special, and Elaina, Rich and their very helpful employees were wonderful both times that we stayed - and we will be back for certain. Lots of wonderful pets and a great little dog walk in the back of the park to exercise your pup. Washrooms are very clean and spacious with plenty of showers. They are currently making nice upgrades. For children, there is a nice playground with equipment or simply ride their bikes around the park.Easy access to town and the Taos Ski Valley in the winter or summer. Ace Hardware and DoIt Center across street - handy for sure!

The sites had landscaping between each site, lovely desert and rock gardens that set these sites apart from other campgrounds we have been in here in the west. The shower, laundry, and bathroom facilities were very clean. The campground management was helpful and kind. Great place to stay in Taos.

Making our reservation online couldn’t have been easier, and upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly owners, RVers themselves who can offer a plethora of useful information about the area (which they have condensed into a helpful area info sheet) and in general, after FTing themselves for a number of years.Campsites are a variety of shapes and sizes and include FHU, W/E, and dry camping options, and while the spacing is consistent with many commercial campgrounds, this park has a lot of nice landscaping and an interesting lay-out that makes it big-rig friendly while offering the feel of a natural setting with some privacy and plenty of room to walk a dog.Our site was FHU/50amp, and our utilities were easy to reach and worked perfectly during our stay (including a frost-free spigot). Our site was relatively level and long enough for access to our garage. The WiFi worked fine, and Verizon worked OK, though the booster helped. They also allow package delivery along with the amenities of a bathhouse, laundry, and dump/fill station. We really enjoyed our week-long stay here, but that wasn’t nearly enough time so we’ll be back.

With out a reservation, they managed to find a spot for us. I did get a chance to talk with the new owner, they just bought it this summer. As former full timers, they really understand what Rv'ers are often up against and are working very hard to make you feel welcome. The park is really clean and over our stay, it is clear they are working hard to keep it that way. One thing I did like is that while the sites are close together like most RV parks, they have plenty of vegetation between the sites that give you more privacy than most parks. I was surprised that it was much quieter than I would have thought for a location in town. Once the evening came, things got surprisingly quiet. The location is great, right in town. If you are looking for activities in Taos, you won't find a better spot. We visit Taos regularly and we now have a new home for when we go.

You cant beat this location close to town. Nice open space and a large park. Showers have good pressure. Simple park but has everything you need. We selected an electric and water only site as it was $13 cheaper per night. They have a dump station on site. Cell signals were good with Verizon and Tmobile.

This campground had positive reviews, and the photos looked nice, so we chose it.As other people indicated, the park is clean, and reasonably spacious for a private campground. There were buddy sites so your traveling partners could have coaches facing one another, which is also nice. There was ample room to park both our fifth wheel and our truck. The sites we had were concrete and level (we were traveling with others, and their site at a different area of the park was dirt/rock and much less level). There was good Verizon and AT&T cell service in the park as well. I don’t use park WiFi, the laundry rooms, or the bathrooms so I cannot comment on that (although people we were traveling with said they were nice). My issue with this park is the way they charge. Their website indicates a certain charge for 30 amp sites, 50 amp sites, pull-thrus and back-ins. Also, some had sewer, and some did not. Not until we got there did we discover that although we had paid for a premium spot with 50 amp power and sewer, that the cost of the electricity itself was NOT included in the price. This was not prominently indicated on their website. Their policy/procedure was to take a meter reading each day, and that cost was added to the camper’s bill at the end of their stay. I understand that many campgrounds do this for monthly campers, and even weekly. I have NEVER seen this at a campground on a daily rate. I have been all over the country, staying at private campgrounds from coast to coast, and this was the only one that I have ever seen that charged for electricity on a daily rental. I brought this to their attention, and their attitude was, “that’s the way we do it”.The actual dollar amount was not great, about $2/night...but that was based upon our usage. We had people traveling with us that used their air conditioner (we did not) and it was about $5/night. They have every right to do this, but it goes against the industry standard that I have seen everywhere else. When we checked our credit card, he had charged all of the electricity to one card instead of to the three individual cards. This wasn’t discovered until we had left. When we called back to ask about this, the owner/proprietor was curt and rude. So, I am only giving this campground 2 stars because of that. If it weren’t for that, I would give it 4 stars. Take this information and use it how you choose.Cell service (AT&T) was great. We stayed in a 35’ fifth wheel.

We are traveling the country in an rv and enjoy being in nature. This is in a neighborhood, which has its own sense of wildness to it, but not the kind we enjoy. We DID hear a neighbor blasting AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” at 10pm - and sadly had not had enough drinks to be pumped about it. The showers are warm, the bathrooms are clean. There seem to be a lot of residence in this park, and they are not particularly friendly. The sight charges extra for electricity (I’m assuming it’s bc they have so many full timers?). I would not go back here. Even to live, I would find a prettier spot.

How many RV parks charge electricity for a one night stay? In addition, we arrived after dark and found the park to be very poorly lit, needing a flash light in order to park and set up. The streets are very narrow and we were just able to make the turns and get into and out of our spot. There is one poorly lit sign at the street entrance making it hard to even find the park. My advice is if you have a big rig, go somewhere else.

For two nights, we paid $52/night for the site and then we were charged an additional $146 for TWO nights worth of electricity! You are better off parking your rig and getting a hotel room. The electrical fees charged are four times what our fees are, in Denver in winter, for an entire 3000 sq ft house! Do not be caught like we were. What a rip off! Even if you read the fine print...that there is an fee for electrical usage...there is no way to imagine the way this place will gouge you on electrical rates!Postscript on 3/22: I did get an email from these folks later in the day that we checked out (after I had argued that the charge for two nights of electricity could NOT be correct and being dismissed totally by Natasha in the office) that indeed, the charges WERE wrong! They then immediately charged me the correct amount of $24+. However, the refund of $146+ has still not been processed. No apologies made. Just the excuse that the “wrong meter had been read.”

That is never a good sign, I’ve found. The Taos Valley RV Park is situated at the south end of Taos, in a great location. You have beautiful views of the mountains, you are near the main road but get none of the noise, and all the essentials are nearby. The sites themselves vary wildly, and since there are no indicators on the website when booking, you may get stuck with a smaller spot than your RV can handle. This happened multiple times as evidenced by the trucks parked in the main roadways of the park as well as when I was getting the mail and a couple came in and said they needed a new spot because they didnt fit. We were lucky - our RV fit perfectly and our motorcycle is small. The pathways and roads are craggy, and instead of gravel you have small rocks that are painful to step on in flip flops. We also didnt have rocks all the way up our site, and when it rained the first night the front end of our RV sank into mud. The bathroom is small considering how many sites they have, and feels very dated. The showers have yet another case of Missing Showerhead Syndrome (common in many parks and clearly contagious) and the toilet in the middle stall of the women’s room isn't bolted down to the floor, making for a terrifying experience. Though in need of some TLC and updating, the park is the nicest one in the area, and were we to come back we would probably stay again.

They informed us that we selected a pull-in site by mistake, and they offered to put us in a pull-through for a few dollars more, but we decided to go ahead with it even though we have a travel trailer so we could save some $$$. That worked out okay since we have long hoses. They left us a packet at the office with directions to our site. It was a corner site, with a decent amount of privacy and bushes. The smell of sage was wonderful. We didn't use any of the amenities since we have our own bath and had a full-hookup site. Gravel roads and pads throughout. Front desk person was friendly. Strange shelters for picnic tables that have seen better days. Quiet park, even though it was the weekend and it was full. We had plenty of space, but we have a 17' travel trailer. Others appeared to have struggled with anything over 25'. There is a short trail at the end of the park, nothing special.A fun side note. Traveling Robert (http://www.travelingrobert.com/) was there, but was packing up for his next adventure so we didn't get a chance to talk to him.

Great area, quiet, rusticly clean, free bath/house with showers, all set in a No. N.M. desert setting. Lots of native plants, accented by homemade site dividers. Walking around you can't miss the shelters that are on some sites. Other than the shower house, we didn't use any other facilities. Our site had water and electric, with a dump station located near the exit. There were Class A motorhomes down to tent trailers and a few pitched tents. If you require green manicured lawns, this isn't for you, BUT if you like friendly hosts and fellow campers without frills, give it a try. Great place, see ya next time.

Arrived in Taos after hours. Grabbed a night spot. Located on the outskirts of town/close. Level sites with concrete ramps over gravel. Has bbq and picnic table. A bit dated, but basically clean and safe. Some road noise.

So we needed a place to stay for a few nights. And this place was the closest and the pull through the easiest and quickest. The park had some of the nicest desert landscaping I have seen and it was very close and convenient to groceries and other daily needs as well as only a short drive to the areas tourist activities. The park was relatively quiet most of the time. It is right next to a school and when they take recess you can hear the kids playing and making noise. The couple that managed the park were great, we were playing it day by day, and they didn't mind me coming in each morning to pay for another day as we figured out our plans.[Our actual stay was 11/06/16]

Wi-fi was also down until that time. But besides that, the campground itself was clean and tidy. Each space had bushes around to give it some privacy and we liked that each had its own trash can.The site was located a few miles from Taos plaza. It was easy to find parking for our 25-ft camper at the Our Lady of Guadalupe church lot on Camino de la Placita and Loretta place and use that as a starting point for exploring the plaza and Bent Street.

It is a gorgeous park where every spot is surrounded by thick growth and it feels about as close to a state park campground as a private park can get. While more expensive than the park down the road, this park is half a mile closer and vastly more pleasing to the eye. For your money, you also get access to their laundromat and they serve up free coffee and cookies throughout the day in the office.Aside from RV spots, they’ve also got these beautiful little wooden tents, for lack of a better description, which are basically triangular structures housing a picnic table that you can tarp off and sleep in if you’re not traveling in an RV yourself. The staff is plenty friendly enough and there are more restaurants closer to this park than the other, one of my favorite being the Five Star Burger where we experienced salmon sandwiches while a father/son duo played 60’s folk music, fingerpicking and singing complicated songs effortlessly while simultaneously watching horse races on the TVs behind the bar.You can’t go wrong with the Taos Valley RV Park if you’re staying in Taos, New Mexico. It’s the closest park to the downtown plaza area and the family center, which we never got a chance to visit but is a stop along the bus route (an excellent bus service running every 30 – 60 minutes during the day) which apparently features a pool, a skating rink (ice in the winter, roller in the summer), and an arcade. The downtown and plaza area of Taos are really quite cool, with plenty of restaurants and bars, and an overabundance of places to buy pricey art, your typical tourist town that the Southwest revels in, but it’s done about as well as they come.

We stayed in a campsite in the back which had a view of the mountains. Spacing between campsites is about average, but landscaping provides privacy in some campsites. Our pull-through site shared the same side for living space as our neighbor, but the two picnic tables (one in the back, one in the front) were separated by landscaping and little fences. The park is located about 2 1/2 miles from HIstoric Taos Plaza, which is a great location. It has a very short "trail" to walk dogs, but there are occasional prickly cacti.Wi-fi was marginal. Not many amenities, but it has a small playground, laundry and restrooms/showers. Laundry was ok, we didn't use showers or rest rooms.
