Used it as an overnighter. Not a bad place right off the highway. A little pricey but not many options in the area. On site restaurant, close to shopping & fuel.

We've been here in 2019 for a night and today, 8/17/21 for 2 nights. We were greeted in the office by the owner's oldest son. He's professional and welcoming. Dad seems to be staying out of the public contact. Fine; we come here for the park, not him. This place is clean, well maintained, the pool is 'up' and looking very inviting! We've done the dinner menu both stays, but this time they just deliver to your rig. Hot, delicious, and reasonable in price, the fries are crispy, the shrimp done just right, and the brisket was excellent. I can't see any reason not to like it.The park is set down a grade from the street, and far enough from the US 40 Hwy to be mostly quiet. You can barely hear the train; so it's pretty good for noise. It's a safe setting; the owners keep a sharp eye on anyone coming into the park. It's pretty level overall for walking; sites are very close to level, and they've kept up with any damage from this year's heavy rains, so the driveways are without ruts or potholes. That's saying a lot right there.I'd recommend this park to anyone 45ft with toad or less.Nice dog park. Good laundry. Nice pool. clean small tables at each site. Some repair parts are available in the office. We did not use the bathrooms.Come on in, the stay is quite comfortable.

He was beyond crazy and needless to say we left and we did NOT stay the night. It was worth losing the money to leave the really dirty location. Trash everywhere. Right off the highway and nothing to see or do. The restaurant is not a restaurant. The owner judged me from the moment I walked in and gave me a dirty look and said he's been married 4 times and once to a stripper. He said maybe he should "turn gay." As he was checking me in told me to watch out at night for my 9 and 12 year old to go to the bathroom alone. He said he would not give a AAA discount and called it a "covid tax." We contacted AAA regarding the false information since he had a AAA sign on his wall and said it was 100% not okay. He would not wait on me and give us our spot unless I touched a large gold coin from his desk. He would not sell me a can opener in the general store telling me I would "hurt myself" on it. I tried to laugh and play it off, but RAN as fast as I could out of that awful place. My suggestion is if you need to stay somewhere nearby for the night, there's a KOA that is perfectly nice and welcoming and the same rate. I would not stay at this place if my life depended on it.

The manager was a dry, but he was accommodating and nice enough. We had a W&E only site and they have a dump conveniently on site we used before heading out. There were many sites on the grounds. We had an easy pull through site that was pretty level. Gravel roads throughout but wide and maintained. It was cheap and it worked great for a stopover and for that reason, we'd stay again.

It is election time and he made his views very clear on which side he supported. Once I got past that, we pulled into our site and were greeted by 3 beautiful kittens. I fed them some tuna and milk and walked back into the store to see if any cat food was available. This did not go over well with Chris the manager who told me to not fed the cats and that he was going to trap them all and put them behind the red barn on the property so the owls there could eat them. I begged him to not do such a thing and he said “well I can’t have them just getting into peoples rigs!” I left the office pretty sad and when I told my husband he tried to assure me if that was the intention it would have been done already. I hope this is true and Chris does not harm those beautiful creatures. So in short if you can avoid Chris (maybe come after hours) the park was clean and laundry on site was nice. They do have a restaurant and we had ribs delivered to our rig. I thought they were just okay, husband thought they were pretty good.

No problem for us. We arrived a bit before 8pm and were greeted with a lot of large signage indicating to stop and complete after hours check in. Easy enough. The front of the park was fairly full, but out back there were a lot of empty back in and pull through sites. We picked a pull through at the far back in a dark and quiet corner. The owner did drive by when we were setting up and asked if we’d checked in, and all was good. Its a clean and quiet park. The park WiFi didn’t work at our site in the back corner, but our AT&T hotspot picked up a lightning fast data connection. I’m sure we will be stopping here whenever we need a good night sleep in this area.

He went lengths to tell me about his new employee and about the restaurant that serves the campground. He told me all about the menu and specials and that they only take cash for dinner. What he didn't say a word about was the restaurant closing at 6:00 PM. We got to our spot and set up. Decided what we wanted to order and called. All we got was a recording. We then noticed on the menu that the restaurant stops taking orders at 6:00 PM. It was 6:07 PM when we called. I walked up to the office just as Chris was leaving. I asked if it was too late to order and was told it was. I told Chris it would have been nice if he'd told me about the closing time when we checked in. He told me that I was told. When I told him he hadn't said a word about the closing time, he just shrugged and walked away..... Nice. Went back our site and started fixing dinner then noticed the new employee delivering food to a site next to ours.... The spots are gravel and level, nothing special. Our site was a full hook up with a 50 amp service. There's several diesel sources right down the road. If were you I'd avoid Chris, fill up down the road and keep going.

The website says RV sites with hookups but most sites don’t have sewer. When I called to make reservations, the manager (owner? I don’t know) asked if we had pets, and when I said we have a cat, he made some disgusting comment about “only outside cats are allowed— my Chinese security guard insists on it.” This was after several other inappropriate comments, including one a man should not make to a woman he does not know. All my instincts said to hang up and just drive through Santa Rosa, but we really needed a place to stop in this area. In the end we decided to only stay one night, and get the heck out of there ASAP. When we checked in, the manager was checking in another woman, and he stopped talking to her long enough to make a rude comment about she and I wearing masks. Once he got her squared away and she left, he made some comment about how she didn’t know what she was doing and was too inexperienced to be RVing or something like that. It was inappropriate, anyway, and made me uncomfortable. He also said he was opening the pool soon, despite the state’s covid-19 guidelines, because he “doesn’t want kids to have their summer ruined” (and also the governor can’t tell him what to do). So I guess ruining kids’ summers by contracting a potentially deadly illness is totally acceptable. Logistics: sites aren’t very level or well labeled, and our site had many bottle caps and cigar butts. There’s a train nearby but it wasn’t bad. There are no useful directions on the website and GPS sent us in the opposite direction off the highway, then once you get to the park, you have to hope no one else is waiting to check in because there’s not enough room for more than one rig. There’s a restaurant on site but since we have celiac and allergies, we didn’t bother trying it. We didn’t check out the bathrooms because we didn’t fee safe or welcome at this park, so we just kept to ourselves and our own rig, then left in the morning when we woke up.

When I called to see if any sites were available and the rate, I encountered a very short tempted aggressive manager who was quick to tell me to just show up. The park closes at 6 PM, but when you’re coming from the west it’s an hour ahead. By the time we got here at 6:15, the office was closed and we had to do after hours check in. When we went to go park the RV before paying the deposit the manager raced up next to us to scream that we had to pay first. Yet, 3 other men pulling trace trailers went before us without paying first. The laundry room is very old & dirty with no change machine. The restaurant is quite filthy and unsavory. For being one of the only places to stop with electric & water hookups, it wasn’t terrible. Most sites do not have sewer hookups when it says they did. I find it interesting that a tent site costs the same $30.00 as a full hookup 50-amp RV site. Nothing special to the park, the pool is small, but clean and refreshing. I do not recommend staying for more than a few nights as there Is little to do besides Blue Springs around the park.

He had a map and explained everything well and quickly. The site 41 was right next to the restrooms and in the restrooms Is the showers. The showers are FREE, meaning you don’t have to insert coins to take a shower. There is power, water, sewer at most sites. Picnic tables are at every site, with a grass patch and trees. Wear shoes! Lots of goat heads! The ground was pretty level and the site was convenient to pull into with a truck and a-frame pop up camper. Lots of big rigs! BUT super quiet through out the day and night. Quiet hours are 10p-8a. There is a small playground for kids. We didn’t try the BBQ or the pool (the pool was closed). Opens soon! Some highway noise and just enough illumination around the camps. Would come again!

Convenient to I-40. Some trees and grass needing a good trim in early spring. Good areas for walking dogs. Shower/restrooms clean but a little dated. Free WiFi but not very good reception. Friendly staff. Helped with directions. Pretty quiet.

We made to the park and Matthew came to our rescue. He was very knowledgeable and figured out our problem called in the parts and fixed it right at our site for a very reasonable rate! Since we had to wait for the parts I took advantage of the laundry facilities. They also have a restaurant that will deliver right to your site which is great after driving all day. Thanks again!!

Chris was very accommodating and worked us in Friday night on a busy Memorial Day weekend. Many thanks Chris! Campground is neat and tidy, sandy/gravel surface as is common in these parts. Some grassy areas in the common areas. Good hookups at our site. Site appear to be rather close together if you are near the front, and more spacious toward the back. Bathhouse was vintage but exceptionally clean, functional and centrally located. Slight highway noise but nothing to keep you wake. Wifi was slow, and did not try the cable but seemed to have a good selection of channels. Chris makes the rouds after dark ensuring all residents are behaving so felt very comfortable here. Will stop again and probably stay an extra day to check out the town of Santa Rosa.

It's big-rig friendly, and a number of sites have full hook-ups in their pull-throughs.Our site was pretty level, and the cable TV hookup is good quality. Wifi is good, and reasonably fast, but it's wide open and unsecured. I would warn against transmitting sensitive information without adequate network security.I have heard other travelers rave about the on-site restaurant, but we weren't able to try it out.Since this park is right on a main East-West Interstate, it fills up in the afternoon, and in the morning, the flocks of RVs scatter. There are always plenty of people around if you're looking for conversation, but if you want to keep to yourself, that's easy enough, too.

This is a nice, family owned campground. You do have to go down a hill after checking in at the office, so we saw some people unhooking their toad. There is plenty of space up top to unhook, but we didn't need to. Our site was level and hardpacked gravel. There are picnic tables at each site. 50amp was solid. Good water pressure. Laundry facility was clean. The park was very quiet. The pool looked nice, but we did not partake as the weather was not conducive to swimming while we stayed there. During our four nights, we did see many people stop in for just one night. The campground would fill up by 6pm every night and empty out by 11am each day. Nice bonus for weary travelers is the on premise restaurant that would deliver right to your site, or you could choose to dine in. We did dine in on our last night and it was very good. Things to do in Santa Rosa: The Blue Hole, dine at one of the historic restaurants in town, Route 66 Auto Museum, and Santa Rosa Lake State Park was beautiful. Of the two campgrounds located in Santa Rosa, this is definitely the campground to stay in. I would stay here again.

When checking in, the owner said he couldn't justify putting us in the long pull through that had been reserved and so we had to wait while he figured out how to change it. We ended up in a shorter spot that was tight with the car. There seemed to be a lot of overnights the two nights we were there, but the park was mostly empty, so I don't know why we couldn't have had the original spot or even one with no neighbors. The spots are a little tight and we chose not to put out our slide on the patio side, so we could have more space for a patio area.Santa Rosa is a small town, so it's convenient as it's in town on Route 66. We were there for the Blue Hole and it's worth stopping by even if you're not diving. We did see some people swimming, but the water is in the low 60s. The owner did honor our escapees discount even though he isn't part of the program anymore since we had seen it on the website.
