It’s nice that the park is away from the highway and close to the river. The grounds are lovely but the RV sites are in a gravel parking lot with a few trees along the perimeter. The bathrooms/shower were clean when we arrived but they were never attended to during our stay.

We had intended on staying a month, but arrived a week late due to a death in the family and stayed 3 weeks in July of 2018.This is a mixed bag... we really loved the park. Site R7 (along the southern edge of the western loop as viewed on Google) was peaceful and spacious. You can't actually see the river because of the trees, but it's not far behind you. The park is set pretty far back from the highway and is thus pretty quiet. The owner was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We became friends with the couple that stayed next to us for a majority of our stay. The problem was we had only a sliver of a Verizon 3G signal and a slightly usable 4G signal using a directional high-gain booster. Park wifi was fairly decent for work. However the local internet (both the hardline for the park wifi and Verizon tower) would drop out once in a while for an hour or two. Likewise, the area lost power a couple times. Furthermore, at our site the voltage would drop below 105 V every afternoon and our power monitor would trip at that point. The summer was hotter than usual, so we spent some very toasty afternoons in the trailer with no power, begging for clouds and rain. The owner said the power company had already upgraded their transformer, but apparently it still wasn't enough. We were at the end of the line and sites on the other side of our section (to the north) didn't have such voltage problems. We would have loved to stay again, but can't because of all these technical problems. It's not far to Red River (8700' elev), which has a nice brewpub. Don't go mountain biking at the Red River ski slopes -- they have no bike trails other than the maintenance road, and it was a loose, rocky ride-your-brakes-the-whole-time try-not-to-die crapfest almost the entire way down (which we did twice, LOL, because we had bought a day lift pass). Supposedly they're going to build real biking trails in the future. We're told Angel Fire has real trails.

However if we were looking for an rv park in the northern part of the Enchanted Circle, this would be my choice. The rv spots are pretty standard with some pull-throughs and back ins. Some of the back ins along the back property line back up to woods and have shade. Everything is neat and clean. The wifi is the best we have ever experienced in an rv park. Nice dog park and a lovely path along the river and their two ponds. This is a small family owned park that shows a lot of TLC.

The campsites lack shade, lawn, and spacing. It's hard to tell where your site ends and the next one begins because everything is gravel. It's too bad the garden look does not extend into the camping area. Our site did have electric, water, and sewer. The bathroom and laundry room was clean. The wifi was some of the best we have had at a campground. There was a path where we could walk the dogs. The campground is off the main road compared to others in the area, but unfortunately it is in a neighborhood where there are barking dogs. When we were there, there were some long term rentals which tend to bring a different atmosphere to a campground. The staff is friendly and wants to please.

This was both of those. The park is right off the main road, has full hook ups (so we could stay warm since its still quite cold at night in northern new mexico this time of year), has wifi and has a whole bunch of other amenities such as laundry, showers, playground, horseshoe pit, dog park, etc that we didn't use since we just stayed the one night. There is a creek/river that runs behind some of the spots creating some ambiance but otherwise everyone is all close to each other but noise didn't seem to be a problem. There is a lot of stuff to do in the area- hiking, scenic drives, Taos, etcThey are part of Passport America so $16 is the half off price.
