This camp is for older adults. We ended up taking our 10 yr old grandson who is very obedient and friendly. The weather was perfect - 70-80 day night low 60. Plenty of sites to see and things to do We went into town and ended up hiking. Great views.

Helpful owners who helped us get our trailer in the site. Cards and pot luck dinners in the activity center. Deer and turkeys roam the campground. Not especially kid friendly.
Quiet, cool, peaceful

We had called ahead and let the owners know about what time we would be arriving, so they were there to greet us when we arrived. We were a little concerned about whether we would be able to navigate our big bus (43') around the campground and fit into a space, but Jed took us around the park in his ATV, we selected a site that was plenty long for us and easy to get into. We were looking for a location that was cooler than the high 90F and low 100F temperatures we had been experiencing down between Artesia and Carlsbad, and this was perfect. The temperatures were in the 80s during the day and got down in the 40s and 50s at night. We also wanted to have decent internet service. With our cellular signal booster, we got good signal on our Verizon and T-Mobile MiFi devices, and on our Verizon phones. AT&T signal was non-existent. The park was very quiet during our stay - about 10-15 of the 38 sites occupied, and some of them by RVs whose owners come up on the weekend from El Paso. I think that during the summer, there are a lot of folks who stay for the season.During May and October, the rates are discounted - $28 for full hookups. Even when electric is included (daily rates), if you use over 15kW, there is an additional charge. Since we did not need to use our air conditioners, this was not an issue.
