The owner was so nice and got us a spot last minute. Nice little RV park. Very quiet. Sites are on the smaller size. Not a lot of good places to walk your dogs. Watch for the goathead stickers! We loved downtown Mesilla and exploring Las Cruces. We would stay here again if coming back to the area.

On the plus side it is pretty well-located within walking distance of historic Mesilla. We also benefited from Debra's welcome as we arrived early attempting to beat the high wind warning which makes our Aframe impossible to set up. The sites are all gravel or sand but pretty level. There are some trees which probably provide a little shade in warmer months. Sites are pretty close together, but I've seen worse. There are some well-worn picnic tables at most of the sites. Many long-term folks make it their home, and their sites are, on the whole, well-kept. It is the bathroom and shower area which provided the greatest disappointment. I don't think that he men's room was cleaned the entire time we were there. The showers are old and could stand more cleaning. We were told that there is a new owner, and that he is making some upgrades. We did see work on the roads and camping spots while there. There was also some evidence of upgraded fixtures in some of the bathroom and shower area. That's a great start, but much could be done. In the meantime, keeping what is there clean would be a great improvement. There was wifi, but it was weak. We tended to use hotspots on our cell phones to connect and read email. All in all on ok place to stay, but if price is an issue, Leasburg Dam State Park about 25 minutes from Las Cruces offers 30 amps and water for $14 a night and sits in a lovely desert location.

This was our 2nd time at Siesta. It is easily accessible off Rt.10, safe, quiet and clean. There is a mix of full time and travelers. Free cable, electric, water and decent cell service. It is just down the road from Old Mesilla with nice shops and restaurants. Sites are close, some traffic noise.

Dumpy, dusty little park. Good for overnight only. Owners are neglecting the overgrown trees and there’s quite a bit of debris around. Told not to go to dog run area as it’s full of stickers. Neighbor parked his truck in our front yard area because he had two other vehicles on his site. Didn’t ask, just did it. Close to freeway.

We are traveling the nation and these showers are hot and have great water pressure! They aren’t the nicest looking as the building is generally pretty old, but the showers were great! WiFi was just so-so. Laundry was ok, needed to cycle dryer twice. Nice staff. Good location, nice park. Enjoyed our stay.

I personally wouldn't recommend this park for rigs larger than 40/42 feet, but it's probably possible. There are older/permanent rigs in the first row nearest to the bathrooms/laundry/road, but it's cool. Didn't use laundry, but showers were clean, good pressure and hot. The kind I ditch our own rig's kinda weak-pressure shower for (Yes!) You'll need a water pressure regulator here (maybe that's why my rig's water pressure sucks?) Park has a dog walk - and a dog groomer on site.

Siesta RV was an okay fit. The RV park is clean and fairly quiet at night with a mix of longer-term residents and folks just passing through. We only spent one night here and pretty much just hunkered down to cross some chores off the to-do list. Onsite laundry seemed like it would be convenient, but it ended up taking 4 hours & $10 to run 2 loads of laundry, after which we just gave up and hung a good chunk of it up to dry inside our bus. (Next time we'll just go to a laundromat.) The park's close proximity to downtown Old Mesilla is the reason to stay here. Old Mesilla itself is neat - we went out for coffee & breakfast at The Bean and walked around a bit afterwards. You'll see well-preserved 19th century buildings and a range of shops & art galleries. Since we're not really the shop-til-you-drop types, we mostly just enjoyed the scenery and spent some time in the bookstore on the main plaza (they have a great selection).

It's nothing fancy, but it's a good little park for visiting Las Cruces.Note: we initially had reservations at Coachlight Inn's RV park, but it fell through massively, so we tried this place, and never looked back.

We were simply passing through on our way to another land, but I do feel the layover was a fortunate one. Las Cruces is a big town, or some might say a very small city, and we only experienced the small area known as Mesilla. To keep this review in line with our stay, I’ll make things brief (edit: turns out I was lying):The Mesilla neighborhood of Las Cruces, NM is a splendid place to stay for a day, and one might even easily be able to extend the experience for as long as a week, depending on your ability to shop-til-you-drop or how much you associate the motorcycle with a good time. All in all, the neighborhood offers a smorgasbord of good restaurants, though heavily leaning towards the Mexican aspect of foodstuffs, but such is to be expected from a state with the word Mexico right there at the end of it. The Mexican restaurants focus heavily on the extremely spicy side of that type of cuisine, which is not to be mistaken for authentic mind you, but nonetheless I suspect any foodie with a flair for snooping around would be hard pressed to require more than a meal or two without finding something they could truly sink their chompers into. The surrounding neighborhood, aside from eateries galore and even a seemingly quaint coffee shop close by to a fantastic winery serving up magnificent French delectables, makes for a grand enough experience. Easily walkable streets, bike lanes galore, and a small-but-packed-with-local-boutiques plaza were reason enough for us to spend an entire day here, even though we had places to be and only traveled for an hour earlier in the morning. A book store with classics new and old, all of the handcrafts and jewelry shoppes a lady might blow her savings within, and more than one storefront touting hand dipped chocolates and homemade fudges surround a plaza which promises to hold live music and playing children on warmer days. For the non-smoking traveler, rest pink lung-ed in the fact that smoking is permitted neither in the restaurants and bars dotting the area nor the plaza itself.Of course, this is not a review of Las Cruces, or even Mesilla, and therefore I’ll get directly to the park itself. It is okay, and on the better side of okay, indeed. I dwelled on the neighborhood surrounding Siesta RV Park simply for the fact that nearly all of it’s charm comes from that neighborhood. The park itself is simple, a few small trees, at least one per site as I recall. The folks running the place are extremely pleasant. They’ll let you know what’s what in town and won’t haggle over a discount here or a parking spot there. There are few extra amenities, expect to be able to wash your clothes but don’t count on a dip in any pools or a swingset for the kids. Mountains tower on nearly every horizon and the highway is far enough away to allow the noise of America’s trucking industry to fade to nothing before it reaches your own rig’s walls. All in all, I think the experience of Mesilla is worth a night or two in the area, though I don’t expect we’ll personally be taking them up on their monthly rate.
