Fee included FHU, pull-in/back-in site with KOA discount overlooking the valley and next to the gazebo. Restrooms/showers clean and in good condition. Could not connect to campground wi-fi at all which wasn't a problem with us. Good Verizon and T-Mobile signal. Nice stay, and we would return.

What makes this location an exception is its location on the Picacho Hills, overlooking the entirety of Las Cruces with a magnificent view of the Organ Mountains. If you're going to stay here, you MUST stay at a perimeter "View" site. Anything else will leave you feeling like you overpaid for a rockpad and hookups. There is an outdated playground area for the kids, so there's that. They do have a nice laundry room, the staff are nice and most days we were there we had completely unobstructed views for 180 degrees as people tend to only stay here a night or two and move on. If you stay here, stay for the unprecedented views of the valley and mountains, otherwise, find something shaded, or boondock. NOTE: We stayed during the full moon... absolutely breathtaking and worth the price of a spot here x3. I added photos so you can see what you get.

Love this KOA. This is our 2 nd time staying here and got to stay on the out side edge overlooking the city and on out to the mountains. It is an easy on and off the freeway to and from the road to the park.and the turn off to the park is clearly marked with a large sign. Everything else you need is in the reviews below.

They rake each site post occupation and insure the site is immaculate. The staff was friendly and attentive, clear explanation of the park status, features and rules. We had a pull thru site the was long enough to not unhook our TV as requested. The sites are not a full pad but concrete runners for the tires. our site was perfectly level. If you have a chance go to Mesilla to check out the beautiful town square and eat some excellent Mexican food at La Posta de Mesilla. Oh and they have upgraded the wifi here and they even say to stream all you want. I had no problem streaming with our Fire Stick and computer.

We don’t typically like to stay at KOAs but this one has got to be the nicest one ever! Amazing views of the mountains, clean and well taken care of. The spots were raked before each stay. The sites were large and set up well, however the one thing I did notice was that all Class A/B/Cs pulled in instead of backed in (because of the location of the hookups), which may lack the view that you would get out your back window because you’re seeing that outside your windshield instead. We had an airstream so we backed in like normal and the views are incredible! There is a fenced dog area and a short little dog walk area that goes along the edge of the property. The office staff is very sweet- even let us borrow (for free) sleds and bars of wax to go sledding in white sands! So happy with our stay and would love to return.

Small KOA journey. Great for a stop over. Pull thru sites are big rig friendly without needing to disconnect a tow car. Those sites close together but most in those sites are there just to rest. Campground is only 2 miles from 1-10, easy in/out but far enough no road noise. Best campground WiFi we’ve had on our trip across from PA

If I was to stay longer I'd request a back-in site. Most of the park is gravel and dirt so plan to get a little dusty.

No picnic tables but if you were in a close by site in the 50’s, you could go get one and carry it to your website, although it wouldn’t fit on the side to since our rig and truck took up the whole area, there wouldn't have been room for it. The site also has gravel but the whee are on concrete (but just enough for the tires. Our levels were on gravel so so we still had movement. It also is hard to approach after dark. The KOA sign is lit up but the road itself is not so we had a hard time lining up the road between the two ditches. Nice view overlooking the city. It also has a gazebo to sit and watch the sunset

Can't speak for the amenities because coronavirus. Great AT&T and Verizon signal too. Out of las Cruces and away from the freeway so a very quiet night but close enough for shopping, dining, etc. Bonus: The place looked like a Japanese garden. The groundskeeper rakes every square inch of the place meticulously. Probably a solid 4.5 stars, if not 5, but we were there about 18 hours and really couldn't experience much. Great overnight, however! BTW, we had a pull through and plenty of room for us to leave the Jeep hooked up.

I will say that the back-in sites were a little close together, but it wasn't too bad. The campground is meticulously cared for and they come around and rake all of the empty sites every day. They also offer propane at really reasonable prices. I paid about $22 to fill a 30lb tank. The laundry and bathroom/shower facilities were also really clean and nice. Everything in Las Cruces is in close driving distance from this campground. It's right off the highway, but I barely noticed any highway noise while I was here. Not a big deal, but we have dogs who tend to bark at strangers, so we had to keep the door closed so the dogs wouldn't see the other guests walking around. The dog run was good, the restrooms and laundry room were very clean. Wi-Fi worked well enough to check email and browse the web. The only real downside we found is that there is a water treatment pond below the entrance into the park. Sometimes the wind would blow the smell from the pond into the RV park. The further back in the park your site, the less likely you will notice the smell. Despite that, we'd stay here again when passing through the area.

The interior roads and sites are a mix of dirt and small gravel – which, yes, follows you inside with a vengeance. It was a quiet park which is a big positive. Our site was fairly level – most sites on the perimeter looked about the same. The interior sites varied. Some were level some were not. Saw a couple of RV’s on blocks. Site spacing depends on the site. Some were pretty close while others were fairly spacious. Our site was long enough for the motorhome, and we parked the car next to it. The cable worked with a few fuzzy channels. Directv worked fine (until the wind knocked it around). Verizon was 4g 1 bar but we were still able to use our hotspot. Which was good because we could not use WII FI. It kept dropping us. The water had a weird taste and left water marks on faucets and glass. We purchased several gallons of water to drink. There are lots of roaming cats (but hey, they keep the rodents under control!) and birds that like to peck on the roof. Not their fault but the wind blew almost constantly while we were there – like hurricane force. It blew dirt everywhere – both vehicles were filthy. Sites 10-29 have the best view (and utilities on both sides). What a view at night – amazing sunsets and then the sparkling lights of Las Cruces. There are several public areas set up that anyone can visit to take pictures. The park is convenient to downtown and various hikes in the Organ Mountains. It’s a bit on the pricey side but we would stay here again if we have one of the view sites. The views are what would draw us back.

It's worth a stop over. The KOA was clean and friendly as KOAs usually are. The staff was nice and they have loaner round sleds to go down the sand dunes on. That was a nice touch to not have to buy any. The views are good as the campground sits on a hill overlooking the city. The sunsets and sunrises are pretty. The major downside was how cramped it was. It was more cramped than other KOAs I've been in. You were literally on top of one another. There was also no real place to walk the dogs. Behind the park is mobile homes, not really a scenic walk. And a major road in front so you're basically stuck walking around the tiny park and letting the dogs stretch their legs in the also tiny K9 dog play area.I would stop here again for a few days if I needed a place to stay in Las Cruces because of the amenities and good location.Site accessibility (Easy in/out, good sineage) - 4Campground location (Close to Las Cruces) - 4Nearby amenities (Close to everything) - 4Site Privacy (Very cramped) - 1Campground amenities (Clean bathrooms/showers. Large RV campgrounds, although this is on the smaller side, are not our "thing" generally. That being said, this is where we landed when escaping from the tight spot at Percha Dam State Park.Sites are level, gravel is big dog friendly, no sewer smell from the hook-up at all (threads on the hook-up were tight and no odor escaped!) ...moreLarge RV campgrounds, although this is on the smaller side, are not our "thing" generally. That being said, this is where we landed when escaping from the tight spot at Percha Dam State Park.Sites are level, gravel is big dog friendly, no sewer smell from the hook-up at all (threads on the hook-up were tight and no odor escaped!) but ... Spaces are tight, neighboring rigs are right on top of you, roadway isn't paved and for the cost of a space per night the roadway should be paved, the dog off-lead area doesn't have a single tree to provide shade from the New Mexico sun although there are other trees scattered throughout the park. Wifi was reasonably fast although our AT&T signal strength was FAR, FAR faster. Cell reception at the park was not an issue for either AT&T or Verizon.
Excellent views, on the outskirts of town.

We stayed in a back-in site which is described as "Awesome views from your site of Organ Mountains, city of Las Cruces, and Mesilla Valley. Daily photo opportunities at sunrise and sunset." Everything they claim is accurate, I woke up extra early both mornings to watch the sunrise and the sunset was epic too.The facilities are very well kept, the bathrooms were clean. We didn't use the showers but they looked sufficiently clean as well. Like most KOAs there are some gifts and RV supplies inside. There wasn't a change machine in the laundry room, so get change from the host if you'll be doing laundry off hours.Wifi was fast when nobody was on it, mostly unusable when being used heavily. We had no issues with AT&T and Verizon signals without boosters. The big box stores are on the other side of town, about 10-12 minute drive. Nothing within walking distance as it's on the outskirts of town. Check out the old town area, very cool!
Come for the view

Very well landscaped campground. Neat gravel lots. Definitely pay extra to get a view site overlooking the city, it is worth it. Note, when it says it is a "Pull in/Back out" site, that is not and OR. It and an "AND". You Pull in to the site, then have to unhook your toad and back out to leave. Regardless, the view makes it worth...moreVery well landscaped campground. Neat gravel lots. Definitely pay extra to get a view site overlooking the city, it is worth it.
