For those with any trailer longer than 35 foot just keep in mind that spaces 5-10 will be a challenge in your trailer parking skills. I have a 42’ 5th wheel and it was a challenge getting it in, but with patience and a lot of checking my position I was able to get it in. This place is fairly quiet except for the occasional loud vehicle on 434. Guess rednecks like ‘‘em loud.
Quiet and simple

Pulled in late after making a last minute reservation over the phone. This location is 15 miles from Angel Fire. If your interested in being close to Angel Fire, I would pick a different spot but otherwise it’s a nice quiet location with a stream and a trout pond nearby. Camp hosts/owners are great, super sweet.

This is a nice campground that I used during elk hunting. They do shut off the water in the lower camp during winter but it was great as long as you bring your own water. Next to the river which will be nice in the spring and summer for fishing.

We were very lucky to have this camp nearly to ourselves except for a couple visitors at the far end. To be clear, this is basically a grassy lot with only 12 narrow sites and the windy road to get there isn’t for all rigs but trucks drive it. The bathrooms are old but functional. Water / electric sites only with a shared dump station. Super friendly owners welcomed us in the office across the street. The fire pits and grounds need a little cleaning up but you can’t beat the price or seclusion right by Angel Fire, surrounded by evergreens and a small creek with trout. We hated to leave! Even saw a bear on our hike up the neighborhood mountain road and that’s a huge bonus to us!
