Came in late, was a little bit of light. Nice coverage under short trees. Table was dirty, only used corner of it. Other than the the spot was fine. Far enough off hwy to not hear it. Will stay here again. Left my P pot behind....funny. Had to replace asap!

We were having truck issues so we got in late but check in instructions were left for us. Sites were extremely close. I booked 2 sites at the same time and they were not together sadly. Our neighbors were friendly thankfully. Cannot rate the park upon its amenities as they were closed (bath house, museum, etc.) it was very windy down in the valley, but being in the Sandia mountains we were well protected. The staff called the next day to check on us knowing we were having truck problems.

If you like intimately knowing your neighbor this place is for you. You are no more than 15 ft from your neighbors in every direction. Otherwise the place is clean and hospitable enough but it’s way too cramped for me. Pass.

Indeed it was there and with a marked map showing us the direction to our site. We started into the "campground" with a note that said to call in order to check in. While I called the number my husband drove in to find our site. She told us she would meet us in a golf cart on the phone as my husband was pulling in (very easy pull in) as soon as he got out she arrived and the first thing she told him was " I guess you guys can't listen"" I told you I would meet you" -from that point on we were done, we didn't pay $40 to be treated like a child. It's amazing how customer service makes such a difference. We probably would have over looked the eye sores all around the trailer lot, mostly residents and not at all clean. The sites are crammed together as well. We were glad to leave and will NOT be back.

We didn’t use the showers or bathrooms - the lady that worked there said they already aren’t all that clean. It is very quiet here.

Was told all sites with hookups were booked, but we could book a dry camping site. When we arrived, check-in took forever. When the staff showed us to our “site”, it was a spot of ground on the shoulder of the gravel road next to the registration office at the campground entrance. When pressed, the staff admitted she gave our site to someone else. There was no way we could have gotten level at the location we were given, and they didn’t even give us a discount for a so-called “dry camping” site. Vehicle lights and noise would have been unacceptable. We demanded a refund and left. Dry camped at Walmart in Edgewood, New Mexico instead.

While traveling, we ran into horrible traffic on highway 40 and it took us 4 hours to drive 6 miles. While in traffic, I received a very friendly call from the campground asking if we were still coming as the office was closing. I apologized and assured her that we were on our way, but it would be late (at that point, my gps said 1030pm arrival). She told me that it would be fine and that there were 2 different w/e sites that we could choose from. I reminded her of the fact that I had paid for full-hookup. She apologized and said that they had several unexpected stay- overs and were full and gave me a full- refund. She called me back about 10 mins later and told me that someone had parked their car in one of the 2 sites and couldn't find the key leaving us with no other option but one back- in w/e site. We agreed to this option, especially since it was a single night stopover. She was very pleasant and let me know that I could call upon my arrival if I needed any assistance. By the time we made it there, it was just after midnight and we were exhausted. When we arrived at the site, the hook-ups were on the wrong side which would necessitate us running the hose and power cord under the camper. My husband attempted to back into the site where the trees on both sides were against the travel trailer and we would be unable to open our slide. I attempted to call for assistance and received no answer. It is now after 1 a.m., we have 4 cranky kids that have been in the car all day and 2 exhausted drivers. We ended up calling the nearby KOA journey who very graciously helped us to get a site in the middle of the night. I feel that I was very understanding and accommodating to the issues that were not my fault in the slightest.

Site 21 is a bit strange as you have to go around to the hookup side for your picnic table or you can have trailer come in the other way and hookups under the trailer. This is a pull thru. Once again Quiet - so nice not to hear traffic!

Warning though, the winds here can get gusty here. There's a BBQ restaurant nearby and trails to walk off the ribs and potato salad at Guitierrez canyon open space less than a mile away. Small grocery store and gas stations are available but if you have special food preferences the nearest Smith's or Albertsons is a 15 minute drive to town. Take a day trip to Santa Fe on the Turquoise Trail Scenic road (NM 14). The sites are moderately sized, have picnic tables and the wifi is decent. During our stay the laundry was not available, that was another trip to town. Stay 6 nights get the 7th free and mention if you're a Good Sam member.

Beautiful mountains surround this campground to give it a forest-like feel. Not far from Albuquerque which is to the west and Santa Fe is also nearby. The owners are very nice and come out and speak with each guest personally. The campground is clean, mostly level and pet friendly. I would definitely stay here again!
