  • Older park, with a little wear and a little tight, but clean and with good sites. We would stay again.

We would be asked to leave at 2:00 pm. We had stayed at this park before and found it be be a nice older, park, with a little bit of wear on it. Sites are close to your neighbor, but allow opening slides on both sides. Site was crushed granite, with a small pad of synthetic grass installed years and tears ago, and a picnic table being held up by the many paint coats, as much as the wood.. it was nice enough, secure and water, sewer and electricity worked. The cable did not work, but we were able to bet good local service on the antenna.Good security with a fence around the entire park. We didn’t hear the Highway noise, as some folks did. Our site was quiet. Close to our favorite Mexican restaurant in ABQ, El Pinto…Try it, you will like it.BTW, rate shown is for regular weekdays. Balloon Fiesta rates, if you can get in, triple.

Stayed for 1 night as a stopover. Crowded but most people were doing the same thing. Clean, no power issues. Our site was a ‘patio’ site but that’s really just a picnic table. We walked to the brewery next door for dinner. Will likely use as a stopover agin.

Stayed here two nights. The campground is quiet, clean, and well maintained. Staff was friendly. They advertised upgraded WiFi but the internet connection to that WiFi is very intermittent. Could not send or receive email which is important to us.

  • Pretty typical KOA, very convenient to ABQ and Santa Fe

What else do you need?It is a KOA. So it has a pool and a playground for kids. Our fellow campers were very friendly as was the staff. Yes the sites are close together but that's the way it is in most parks. Our site was level so I didn't need to unhook.

Lots of friendly travelers with their 4-legged friends. We got a W/E pad that turned out to be for the best as it was probably the most shaded from our side of the park. Overall, the WiFi was pretty solid—I was on skype calls all day. The laundry facility is open 24 hrs and priced fairly. I highly recommend Kactus Brewery which is accessible from the NW side of the park—great beer and pizza! We drove about 10 min for a nice walk along the Rio Grande. Overall, I think it’s nicer than the average 2-star rating it has!!

We had 5 day reservations for FHU’s & 50A. We had to change upon arrival to just 2 days. They reassigned us from our reserved spot to a 30A, W/E only, who knows why. I suggested I would disconnect the toad at the office, but the clerk laughed and said not to bother, that I would see once the guide led us through the park. Well, the roads are half lane wide, lots of tight turns with obstacles (trees, RV’s, landscaping materials and fences.) I got stuck on a turn & had to try to disconnect the toad in a jackknifed position, not an easy task. My wife got to listen to another extensive lesson in 4-letter vocabulary from me...Overpriced like KOA’s are, sites on top of each other, but it is good to be outside the greater Albuquerque area.

Everything is great for a KOA with the exception of wifi service. Despite multiple wifi routers located throughout the campground, the signal strength was extremely weak. Our rate reflected KOA membership discount + a one time $20 discount for camping that particular weekend.

The interior roads are narrow and it's a challenge to leave some sites. We barely missed hitting another RV with our outside mirrors. Some of the sites on the south side are more suited for larger RVs. Not all sites offer 50 amp so be sure to ask if that is important. We were on the north side and the sites slope down in the back. We were able to put the motorhome on the flat top but had to park the car on the slope. We were not able to put the car in neutral for towing due to the slope. So we had to find another spot to hookup the toad. There is noise from the plant across the street and I-25.

Your typical crowded KOA. No space between sites. Full capacity when I was there. Located just off of I-25 just north of Albuquerque. Bit of freeway noise due to location. If you have no other place to stay in the ABQ, then this will do. If you enjoy being on top of your neighbor, then this is the place for you.
