Lovely RV park in Columbia, close to downtown park. Historic wood buildings on site. No reservations, host met us and helped us park at dark as it started to snow. Easy back in sites, full hookups including Cable and wifi. Hospitality coffee in the morning. Nicely graveled, tourists here traveling with kids. Tetherball set up in the main area.

  • Tight quarters but close to areas to see

49ers RV resort billed as California's First campground; many old outbuildings from gold mining era in evidence. The staff teaches gold panning techniques and has area for group parties (not in use during COVID though). Facility is also a mobile home park, with camping spaces on entry to park, with mobile home spaces situated up the narrow hills. Sites are close together and moving around is a tight squeeze around buildings, & other obstacles. Staff is very helpful, and worked with us to move our spot when we requested more shade. Many sites do not have any privacy barriers between sites (trees, fences etc) while others are tucked into corners of the park, next to office, bathroom, etc. We wanted to explore the many things to see in the area, and so did not stay in the park during the day. Hookups worked great. There is a small pet run area; otherwise pets are discouraged from using any grass bits that are on the property, nor are they allowed in areas of the mobile home park. If you have larger dogs that need some room, you'd need to take them offsite daily for a run.
