We had to be in the area for work commitments and there are few campgrounds with availability on the weekend. Bike week made the shortage a little more acute. The good:Level wide site in a very pretty area. Access to the lake and marina. Well stocked camp store. Really pleasant staff. The bad:RV Resort is a pretty nebulous term but I would not call Westward Shore a resort.Pool is closed. It looks like they are building a new pool and enclosing the old one but a construction site does not justify the term Resort or the above average rate."Beaches" are narrow bits of sand on the lake shared with grounded float boats. No parking at the camp store or Marina. Cable TV has cables but no TV. It does not work, at least at my site. Management doesn't know if they have a problem or not, just that if you don't have it you don't have it and your not going to get it. OTA is maybe 2 channels.Free WIFI might work for email.Trash is deposited in a single compactor at, well, the dump at the NW corner of the campground. You can't miss it, it's by the septic drain field surrounded by construction waste. Management recommends renting an $80 a day golf cart to make it more convenient. And the one that really torques me... Day visitors must pay a $12 per person Resort fee. I asked if that still applied since none of the amenities were open or worked and the answer was yes, they want their $12.So... It's a nice place to park but certainly not as advertised or good value for the dollar.
Was expecting more....

After looking at the reviews and online photos of this campground, we were a bit disappointed in what we saw when we got here. LOTS of seasonal sites - many of which were kind of run down..complete with "security cameras in use" signs posted in their campers. Sites were VERY tight and did not offer a lot of privacy. The electrical hookups for the newer section where we were camped were located at the back of the site - made it pretty difficult to access. We were there during a rainy weekend and there were sites completely under water around us. We lucked out that our site wasn't flooded, but others didn't fare as well. Once the rain subsided, the water receded pretty quickly. This may be a great campground for boat owners as they have lots of docks, but we were there during off season, so pretty quiet. They were undergoing some renovations while we were there (new pools?) Site fee included $15 site lock fee + $2 "convenience fee"
