Stayed 4 nights. Would loved to stay longer. Site 88 - an end lot with a large grassy area & beautiful direct views of the snow capped mountains. Nice & quiet with an occasional passing train.

This is our second time here. First was last October. Sites are clean and well spaced out. Nice views of the mountains. The staff in the office has both times been very nice to deal with. Only negative note is the wifi needs to be improved.

The sites are plenty big enough for us and easy to get in and out. We particularly like that you can walk right out of the top of the park into the mountainside wilderness and the scenery is beautiful. Even though our trip was heading south through Reno, we were happy to make the offshoot out to Gold Ranch. The local shopping isn't up to much, be we did eat at one of the local bar/restaurants and it was pretty good. If you need more, then Reno is close at hand.Recommended for a day, a week, or more.

Nice quiet clean park with extra long sites. Sites are asphalt with grass & gravel for a patio. Some sites had green grass, ours was dead. Tall Pine trees throughout, we had the shade of one which made up for the dead grass. Definitely a place worth returning to.

Enjoyed our stay. Campgrounds are well spaced, clean and padded. Restroom/showers are newer and clean and staff was friendly. Only negative would be the wi-fi which worked one minute and gone the next.

We did not have any shade at our site but a few sites do. The site was easy to back into and was level on a paved pad. Sites were large and we had some grass for the dogs to enjoy. The best thing about the park is that it is convenient to get to the sites of Reno and Tahoe. As many others have said the casino was smokey and unpleasant, so we did not gamble. It was not a quiet peaceful and beautiful place away from it all but we certainly didn't feel it was too noisy. There was a fire started on the hill across the highway, which was fought very fiercely by the local firefighters and was put out quickly but it was quite a show for us to watch.

Too far for many of the sites. With 105 sites, there should be more bathrooms-especially for the price. However, it’s still a beautiful campground. We had hoped to eat at the adjoining casino, but it seems no one wants to work. One wonderful lady showed up and worked her butt off as no one else choose to come to work. They make more money staying home with government subsidies. Very good access for large RVs. The grounds are located next to some mountains with hiking trail access directly from the campground. I highly recommend.

The casino on site is very smoky. We didn't gamble, but ate at the restaurant in the back corner of the casino, which was still too smoky for us. Food was OK. Coffee from the coffee shop in the front was good. There's a gas station and a fast food restaurant at the entrance to the park. There's a little bit of highway noise because the park is just off the highway. 5 stars for the park itself. If you're a gambler, this may be heaven.

Restrooms were very clean despite drainage problem in the shower which overflowed to another drain. Overall peaceful but at times the freeway noise was too noticeable. The park is 75% permanent occupancy. Wireless internet had strong signal, but signal would fail and reconnect every few minutes which made streaming impossible but web browsing, email retrieval tolerable. The park is next to casino, coffee shop, Jack in the Box, Sinclair gas/store and a café (good $4.99 breakfast). We used this location to explore other RV parks north toward Graeagle and south to North Lake Tahoe for future RV trip considerations. Would stay here again if had reason to be in the area.

Got the last site available which was right next to the propane tank across from the main entrance. Not desirable but served its purpose for a quick overnight stay. Noise from the highway, train went by twice overnight, and late night and early morning Jack N the Box goers can be heard ordering trough the intercom. Recommend ear plugs and eye covers for sleeping. Despite this, the bathrooms are great-clean with individual shower all to yourself. Really is ok for an overnight stay with food and gas station available close by.

The resort sits at the base of a mountain with a couple gorgeous hiking trails and a creek crossing which was perfect for our dogs to let off some steam. Laundry and shower facilities were very clean. Pool and spa seem well maintained, although I did not try them out. Good mix of friendly full timers and passerby’s who take good care of their sites and don’t clutter them up. About 5 miles from McCarran Blvd that has EVERYTHING you’ll ever need (grocery, Walmart, restaurants, banks, shopping, and more). Cabela’s is a couple exits up. Couldn’t ask for a better spot! Highly recommend!

Currently, we are full-time location independent, perpetual travelers, roading around North America.Driving from the CA side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the Nevada side, over 1,000 miles, we were more than ready to settle down in our new home for the next few days. Pulling into the Gold Ranch at a late hour, we discovered no challenges.WHAT OTHERS ARE LIKELY TO EXPERIENCEArriving long after office hours, we were able to choose our site from what was available and then were instructed by the door instructions to go to the on-property 24-hour store to settle up with the clerk. Well, we chose what looked like a premium space, double wide with large grass outdoor space. That said, the clerk only charged us for a regular spot and for that little goodness in the world, we were entirely grateful. Our site had the 30/50 amp services, as well as water, sewer and cable. The RV resort as you will read in a moment has a heated swimming pool, hot tub, 24-hour casino, 24-hour store/gas station and a couple eaters on property. After such a long multi day drive, we were ready for a hot shower. Running our BiG RiG dry during the winter months we were off to the bath house. On our way, we discovered an incredibly inviting heated pool and the steam filled bubbling hot tub along the way. Well, yes thence you. I believe we will!!!!!SPECAIL EXPEREINCEIf that was not enough of a reward after a long day, how about our entering a brand new club house with laundry facilities, large screen TV area with movie options, Fireplace, Internet, and individual spa like shower rooms. Well, we were happy campers!!!!!!RATING - CAMPING EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONSIf you would be interested in reading about the locations mentioned within this camping review, our near death experiences, our close calls, our lessons learned on the road, our campground reviews or about our top secret free camping locations, be sure to follow us...Destination Dupont - InstagramDestination DuPont - FacebookWWW.DestinationDuPont.com - WebsiteCAMPED FEBRUARY 2018POSTED SEPTEMBER 2018

A little bit of a drive from downtown Reno but you are also closer to Truckee, CA which is nice.
