Option to put deposit, but full amount would need to be paid a week prior to arrival. Chose to pay in full at the time of reservation. I’ve included their cancellation policy that was sent to me. I know sometimes we make reservations and plans change. This wasn’t a straightforward refund policy, so something to consider of planning far in advance. Reservations may be canceled for no charge up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled arrival date for reservations 4 nights or less. If your reservation is more than 4 nights, you have 72 hours to notify us in order to receive a refund. Refunds will only be granted within 120 days from the original payment date. Refund requests after 120 days from the payment date will receive a credit for a future stay for the full paid amount. Cost: paid $317.50 for 5 nights. Definitely more than I like to spend per night, but that seemed to be the going rate in the area. I had a pull through site, as that is the only availability they had for a 37 foot Class A with a tow vehicle. Back in sites are $10/night cheaper. Check in: No one was in the office when I arrived on Sunday afternoon. I called the “night manager” phone number that was listed on the building. She promptly answered the phone, met me at the office, brought paperwork, and showed us to our site. My Campsite: The site itself was sloped to the front. We put blocks under the front tires so they would not be off the ground. The ground was a fine gravel/sand. The roads within the park are paved. My particular site had an OK amount of space for it being a private campground in the city. I felt bad for our neighbors on our non camp side because their site had minimal space. We did have a patio table and 3 chairs, but they were pretty dirty when we checked in. Only saw one other site in our row with a table. The hookups were fine, except the sewer was a bit weird. It is recessed into the ground making it a bit of a challenge to connect sewer hose and dump. Campground Amenities: There are bathrooms and a laundry room on site. I did not use them so I can’t speak to the quality. They do have trash & recycle cans located near the bathrooms. They also offer WIFI, but I used my own Verizon signal and had no issues. The Campground: This campground has a majority of permanent residents. The areas all appear neat and had fencing with gates around their sites. They had parking spots and their own trash cans in front of their sites. There are only 28 sites that appear to be for shorter term stays. They do have a lot of mature trees in the park, which makes it beautiful and provides lots of shade. The cons to the trees are the sap that covered not only the car that we freshly washed, but also the RV. The 5th wheel that was camped next to us in site 226 had some branches resting on the roof of their rig. There were tree trimmers present during our stay, but still some low hanging branches when leaving. Chose this campground because we came to visit our niece who is a student at UNR. She recently moved into a place that is approximately 2 miles from the campground. It was super convenient and overall happy with our stay here. Would definitely consider it again if back in the area to visit her.

  • Conveniently located.

The WiFi here is great. They have nice, full grown trees. We were able to deliver packages to the office. Plan your path getting out of the park. Many trucks were sticking out into the streets and it was hard for us to get by.

Office was closed when we called, so we showed up to see if there were any openings. Phone # to Camp Host (very nice folks) was answered and they got us right in. Super easy and convenient. We Ubered in to town for dinner. The park is right on the Truckee River and near the train (3-4 over the night), but trains don’t bother us, so that wasn’t a bother. Good WiFi and cell (Verizon).

  • An Awesome surprise with amazing staff and well kept facilitie on the truckie river

They have and are in process of making this place amazing. Lots of older trees for shade. Full time tenants keep things immaculate and are dog and family friendly.I would have been happy to spend more time here. Best off the radar place for sure in Reno

AT&T hotspot had 4 bars and good data speed. I like bicycling around to the other side of the river, the idlewild park, a small, green park with lakes and a rose garden. The bike path goes along the river.

The place has its pros and cons. Pros: It's close enough to downtown to walk to many places. The laundry and bathroom facilities are clean and the staff is friendly. The office has Keurig machine with coffee and hot chocolate complementary as well as a bowl of candy, etc. The sites are level and I believe all sites have cable, electric, water, and sewer. The full-time residents seem to be characters, but friendly. The laundry and bathrooms are clean and secure and fine. Cons: There is a lot of maintenance staff activity, but it doesn't feel super-well maintained. The sewer connections are oddly placed (we had to wrap our hose around the electrical pillar to get to ours) and while some sites are paved, most are a fine gravel that gets everywhere. Our picnic table was beginning to fall apart. The river is nearby, but the river walk is a few blocks down a busy street toward downtown. The park has two entry/exit points, and one is very steep. The have signs warning not to exit that way with an RV; however, residents come and go through that exit in their vehicles and have to rev, double-clutch etc. to get out. If I had to camp again close to Reno, I would give this place another shot, but I would be inclined to get an Airbnb south of the river instead. If being close to downtown and casinos is a high priority, this is a good option.

The reception and help from the campground could not have been better, we had a small leak from the roof into our closet, and we were able to borrow a ladder, and got some help in deciding what was causing it from a very experienced maintenance man. The wifi is great, streaming video is totally possible, and computers and cellphones had no issues. The setting on the river is pretty. Also if you are not keen on casinos, this area is well worth visiting, and if you need to stock up, there is an abundance of shops. Spots are a little small, and close together, but easily accessible. The train can be heard, but it did not bother us. There are a lot of fulltime residents on this campground, but in early November there was plenty room available for travelers.
