This KOA is also close to use as a base camp for Ely area adventures.

Then they shut off water to our site for a 1 hour repair that turned into many hours. When I went to ask the front office about the water they were rude and could care less. They shouldn’t charge full price for a site if they can’t deliver the services you are paying for. Even a minor discount on the rate would have been a nice gesture. Will find another place in the future.

I requested a pull thru that would accommodate our 43ft coach and car as we didn’t want yo unhook. Our site was no where long enough so we requested a bigger site. The one we were directed too then was only 2 ft longer do still a no go. Ugh,,, we eventually just unhooked and stayed in the forest site. The staff person who checked us in was nice but seemed unclear about RV lengths despite the online reservation system asking fir this info.I wasn’t the only one having this issue. So other than that fubar, it’s a fine stop for one night. It is a dust bowl and there is zero grass but the sites are decent width.

Always a fan of KOA, they are very consistent and predictable. Our site was spacious and had full hook ups. The fire pit was oddly located far away and near the access road. Asked the host if I could move it and there were no issues other than to put it back before we leave. Very friendly folks all around us.

Site was very uneven and caused issue after issue. We finally got it done with the help of another camper. Front desk lady was very nice and kind helped us out when we had our first issues. Also has full 5G service for T-Mobile!

We stayed here to visit Great Basin National Park because the weather was going to be too cold to camp in the park safely without hookups for us. We also used this KOA as our midway point to dump and refill our water between campsites without water. It had what we expected of a KOA - friendly staff, full hookups, easy level pull through sites, a playground, store, etc. The surprises for us: no pool (not that we wanted one), adorable neighbor goats, and two dog parks areas (one with grass). Our dog loved the dirt dog park. It was great giving him a chance to run around off leash for a bit on our trip since everywhere we went he had to be on-leash. The goats were a fun surprise, too, since we love watching goats.

The gentleman who checked me in was friendly, and the store seemed to have a decent selection of items. I was charged about $44, including tax, but that only included 15 amp service. So no AC or microwave. The spaces were close together, and the power pedestal for my site was shared with the site to my right. I plugged in and there was no power to the camper. I checked the outlets and the GFCI was tripped- I noticed a red light on the outlet when I plugged in but didn't know what it meant. I reset the GFCI and got power, which makes me wonder if the other camper even noticed. So $44 for a tight space with only 15 amp service is over-priced in my book. Would I stay here again? Yes, but I'd look for other options first.

The KOA’s amenities were as expected, sites were level and big-rig friendly and the whole site is quiet even though it is right of 93. The sites are very close together with little privacy but the shade offered by the beautiful trees is nice. Also scenic views across the street. Not a whole lot in town but there are gas stations/rest areas and a couple few small markets in town. Lots of outdoor excursions in the area so stay more than one night To do some exploring if you’re able!

It was nice to have some shade after staying in Southern Utah for a couple months. Little to no traffic noise, but this is a popular area for ORVs so expect some coming and going from those. We were told bathrooms/showers were closed for COVID-19 but there were lots of tent campers so not sure how that worked. (We didn't need/use either.) Staff was friendly, site was level, cell service was good. (Campground wi-fi was basically useless.) We visited Great Basin NP and hardly anyone was there. Ely is a small town but has adequate services including a great supermarket, Ridley's. (No Wal-Mart) We'd stay again if in the area.

We got here off season (Jan 31 - Feb 2) and tried to reserver on the KOA website only to see every space was "call for availability". Ooookay, Ely isn't exactly a hotbed of activity in February, so we drove to the site.Office was closed the entire time we were there, and we didn't see anyone running the camp. On the front board at the office door was a "late check-in" board with envelopes and sites. Pick your site, put money in envelope, drop envelope through the door. Map in the envelope had the wifi code and the door code for the restrooms. That's it.Otherwise, we had the campground almost entirely to ourselves. A bus camper pulled up three spots down from us for the night, a 5th wheel the next day. Some full timers here, but their sites are on the parameter of the campground. Nice place though.

This time, it was our destination as we had plans to take a historic steam train ride at the Northern Nevada Railway Museum. It's quiet and clean and sites are a tad more spacious than most KOAs. Sites are gravel and mostly pull-thru with full hookups. We do have to use levelers each time as they are not quite level as-is. Wi-fi is at a hotspot- probably the office. We did not get a signal at our site so did not use it. They have a couple small dog runs. Staff has been friendly and welcoming each time we've stayed there. It is well staffed and supervised for everyone's enjoyment because no one in the campground wants to listen to someone's outdoor TV system. Check-in was a snap and after hours check-in was very well organized. The office/store closes at 7pm. This place tends to fill up so if you have plans to stop here on a weekend, you should reserve.Historic Ely is about 3 miles up Hwy 50. There are restaurants, casinos and hotels- and the Northern Nevada Railway Museum which is well worth the visit. Not many train museums offer actual train rides but this one offers lots of themed rides. Check schedules on their website in advance. Great Basin National Park is about an hour away. Cave Lake State Park is about 20 minutes away. There are dirt bike/atv trails that you can access from the campground and ride for miles.

The park is clean and seems well maintained and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Views from the perimeter of the park are very nice. Sites are fine, basically just parking slots separated by trees. Place was fairly quiet until the deafening chorus of birds from 4-7am, including the single most annoying pigeon I have ever heard. It's a little expensive, but all KOAs are. Overall, it was fine but I don't think I'll be back, mainly because I came to see Ely and what I saw was enough.

The sites are typical size for a private campground and you will not have any privacy from your neighbors. There is no screening between sites. This campground is 100% utilitarian and serves well as an overnight stop when traveling through the area. Don't expect any charm here. There are a lot of trees on the property which provides a nice break from the sun. The number of trees in some spots can cause issues if you are trying to set up your satellite dish. Accordingly, we took a site along the main road to get an uninterrupted view of the southern sky. I was concerned that we would hear road noise but Highway 50 is known as the Loneliest Road in America with good reason! There was very little traffic and whatever there was very quiet. Accordingly, I would say that this was one of the quietest KOAs we've ever used. We did not try the park's wifi but found Verison internet to be marginal, good enough for email and light web surfing but not good enough to stream video.

There was very little noise from the highway and the place was very well kept. Although there was a row of full timers it didn't in any way detract. (I imagine housing in that town was limited.) Wifi worked well.
