I had reserved and paid for a full weeks' stay, but somehow (my bad) scheduled my stop for eight nights. Needless to say, I was chomping at the bit to get on the road by the end of the stay.First, let me say that the Owners are extremely nice people and work hard at keeping the area nice. But i'm reviewing the overall experience, which was dismal and disruptive. I had been assigned to space #11 per my reservation. It was only hours after getting setup in the space that I had to request being moved! There are now a number of long-term campers at the location. Good for revenue stream, but maybe not for normal campers. The family in the space next to me had twin children who chaos on steroids... non-stop fighting and screaming, with non-parenting, parents! They also had two ankle-biters which they kept outside, that barked at anything and everything. Then add the fact that the husband was remodeling the back-half of his camper. The noise of power tools, hammers, nail-guns.. you get the idea by now. I was on the phone with my VA medical providers, attempting to schedule appointments, and had to tell them that I would call back due to the noise level. So, I had to move to another space, which helped somewhat with the noise, but did not eliminate it. No on to the subject of the Technology Desert.. I could get one network TV channel, along with the PBS channels. There is NO Wi-Fi in the park, my T-mobile cell signal was non-existent, but was able to roam with their partner provider, Viaero Wireless which was all but worthless, 2g signal; too slow to even access email.Back to the Noise.. there are train tracks just a few hundred yards from the park, and there are about a dozen, very long, and load (air horns) coal trains that go up and down the tracks, every day, and night. Most people don't sleep through air-horns in the middle of the night. The camper sites were not terrible, but one reviewer mentioned how "roomy" the sites were? Not sure what she was accustomed to, but I measured 12' between my neighbor's hookups, and the side of my camper. And the hookups are in the middle of the site, rather than the rear, which places the sewer drain at your picnic table. (see photos) I did go to the Scott's Bluff National Monument Park on one day which was very nice, and the camper's have a great view of the Chimney Rock monument. So, this park would be OK for a quick night or two, but not longer. For me personally, I just did not find it comfortable at all. I'm still learning what aspects to consider when scheduling my stops.

Chimney Rock is about a mile away and the RV park has the best views of this landmark - especially sunrise is gorgeous and also when the moon sets next to illuminated Chimney Rock at night. The owner lives nearby, takes care of anything and is very helpful. We stayed two weeks and absolutely enjoyed our time there. We only got T-Mobile with CellOne NE as roaming partner (though good signal and data speed) and data volume caps limited its usage after a few days. However, Verizon worked well for us to get work done. Can highly recommend this place and will definitely come back if we are in the area again.

The views of Chimney Rock at night lit up were very cool. Met Laura, Joe's wife, who was as friendly. We used Pioneer Crossing as a great basecamp to explore Ft. Laramie. Great bakery in Torrington, WY called the Bread Dr. Amazing english muffins. If in the area, would definitely stay here again...

CG isn't quite as picturesque as others have suggested, but it is a VERY clean spot on the plains, and the restroom/showers are some of the cleanest I've ever seen! Others in campground had kind of sprawling rigs with lots of gear and trucks, but everyone was quiet. Chimney Rock was lined up right in our van windshield, so the view was remarkable and the sunset after a storm was beautiful. Very peaceful night's sleep with prairie breeze and the Rock lit up at night. Loved it! Decent Verizon, no wifi, 10 OATV channels.

You will always see Joe riding his ATV around checking in with everyone and keeping a very tidy campground. The views of the Chimney Rock Monument are fantastic and the evening lighting of the rock is beautiful. We enjoyed our entire time there and were able to relax and recharge. Mosquitos were bad once the night fell, but the daytime winds kept them away. The surrounding areas are full of Oregon Trail history and make sure you go to Jailhouse Rock, Courthouse Rock, and Scott's Bluff Monument. Overall, it was a great campground. We had full hookups and Cellular reception was fantastic for streaming and calls. He currently has no Wi-Fi available due to the location.

Glad they were because we found this gem of an RV park just a few miles away! Pioneer Crossings is a very clean and well run RV park with wide open spots; in the actual wide open spaces of Nebraska. Pioneer Crossing's owner/operator Joe was incredibly accommodating and friendly during our short stay. While chatting with Joe one afternoon, just after he helped another camper get his rig situated in their space, we determined that we are both veterans, him Army and me Navy. He asked me if he gave me a military discount when I booked (another person checked us in the day before). I told him it never came up when I talked to him during the booking. He started to offer something but I interrupted him and, remembering they had a really nice ice cream display in the office, said how about I just swing by and grab a scoop of that ice cream in a little while. He agreed and I went off to my space to grill some steaks I got from a local meat market. Just after we finished eating, I realized it was around 5:40 and the office closes at 5:00. Just as I was looking forward to stopping by the office in the morning on our way out and grabbing that scoop as a wholesome breakfast, Joe came rolling up on his 4 wheeler while a freshly packed pint of vanilla and bunny tracks ice cream! It's clear that Joe truly cares about the campers and the campground. I highly recommend a stay at Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing RV Park!

This is the third time we stay here in 5 year's and we really like this campground. And I love camping right I front of Chimney Rock and Scott’s Bluff is close. The other down side is the train close to the campground but it did not run at night the nights we stay.

The park stayed fairly full the entire month we were here. There is a horse, 2 donkeys and a herd of cattle that live on the property also. I would stay again if we were working in the area or passing through.
