Had to dump tanks prior to getting to the site. Dump station doesn’t have secure connection, so had to hold down the tube with my foot. Also, the dump cover is placed backwards so it’s not very easy to connect.Paved entry roads are narrow, site was dirt, with ruts from the last rain which made it difficult to level left/right. Site spacing is okay, not close but not spacious. This site was one row off the major highway, so road noise was prevalent until late at night.Power pedestal 30 Amp connector was well worn, new 30/50 dog bone wouldn’t stay connected until I secured it with some paracord. It also showed intermittent open ground. Reported same to the maintenance, they said they would have to shut down the entire row to fix it, so if it’s working, they’d take care of it later. Water connection immediately next to the power pedestal. Water/electricity don’t mix well, so not sure what they were thinking when they set this up.Bathhouse showing its age, is cleaned daily however, the amount of hair in the shower drain and dirt in the corners of the drying room didn’t support a very thorough effort. Laundry had 10 washers and dryers, only one out of order, $3 to wash, 50 cents per 20 minutes to dry, change machine made easy to obtain quarters. Wi-fi was intermittent at best, sometimes good, most of the time couldn’t connect. Verizon 4G had 3 bars. OTA TV had 5 channels that were medium to poor quality.Great BBQ place in West Yellowstone, Firehole BBQ Company. Opens at 4pm and there was a line out the door then entire time we were there. Good pulled pork and the ribs looked amazing.Best thing about this park is its location to the West Entrance to Yellowstone NP, only about 7 miles. Be aware that Yellowstone is huge, so everything you want to visit is at least 45 to 60 minutes away from the KOA, depending on traffic.

In August they called us to tell us that they always close for the season at the end of September and we wouldn't be able to stay there. We asked why we were allowed to make a reservation for October. They didn't have an answer and referred us to the corporate office. The person on the phone stated that they would refund us our deposit without charging a cancelation fee. Well duh! If you cancel on us you'd better give us our money back, and don't act like you're doing us a favor for it. It was a very frustrating and unhelpful interaction. We asked if they had a suggestion on other places to stay, since this week was part of a month-long trip and so we needed to scramble and find another location. She said to maybe try a nearby KOA. We asked if she knew whether they'd also be closing for the season. She said she didn't know and that we should call them ourselves. Talk about poor customer service. If you're going to give someone the bad news that you can't meet your obligation then at least have concrete ideas on other options. So not only are we soured on the West Yellowstone KOA, but we're leery of any KOA. Luckily we found another RV Park in the area, Buffalo Crossing. They were so nice and helpful in making our reservation and totally understood our need to be guaranteed for our dates.

This place is exactly that. Close to West Yellowstone shopping and the park entrance. There is lots to do for the kids without leaving camp... mini-golf, playground and pool, rental 3 wheeler bikes, etc. As you might expect at the height of summer, there were hundreds of cars heading for the park in the am, causing a backup all the way through town, and large crowds and traffic jambs at the points of interest. We opted to go into the park around 4p as most everyone else was leaving and had about 4 - 5 hours to hit the sights. It wasn't empty, even late in the day, but better than prime time from 7a to 3p. There is cell service (we have TMobile) enough for reasonable voice and email. Wifi is available but with umpteen + folks all trying to stream something in the eve's, we didn't actually bother trying it. Crowded camp, with lots of daily turnover, but most everyone we came across were respectful of the quiet hours.

We had some cable channels so we could see what was going on in the world in the evenings. We had dinner at the outdoor kitchen our first night, and breakfast on our last morning. The staff was friendly and the food was good and reasonably priced. The propane refill station was closed due to a leak so I had to go into town. Pretty easy trip, but the station attendant complained about low pay and all the visitors that don't tip. We did not use the showers; when I used the bathrooms the cleanliness depended on the time of day. With so many folks at the campground the bathrooms get a workout.

About 8 miles to west Yellowstone entrance. 2O minute wait to get through entrance in the morning. $100/night seems high but apparently the traffic bears it.

If you don’t intend to use WiFi or bathrooms you will probably have a nice visit. However, for the price I expected more. Bathrooms: Showers are terrible! No shower head, temperature fluctuates constantly. There is no ventilation so it gets so steamy inside the bathrooms that you can’t breathe. They also seemed rather dirty to me.WiFi: non-existent, again if you don’t need it no problem. We have a hotspot with Verizon though and had plenty of service to run simultaneously Zoom calls. T-Mobile service was 1 bar with a booster.Playground and Mini-golf were very nice, the kids loved it.Staff: very inconsistent! The lady who checked us in and helped us with a last minute accommodation was amazing. The gentleman who showed us to our site was also very helpful. I was very disappointed with the person who appeared to be the manager. He bad mouthed another local RV park, was very dismissive when I was asking for assistance with our reservations and completely inflexible. Sadly, it was in front of several of the other staff.

It was about ten minutes to the Westgate entrance of the park. The sites were very cramped and no wifi . Other than that, we were very pleased with the campground. Their amenities made up for some of that frustration. We had a back- in with water and electric but it was a tight fit for our 24ft trailor w/slideouts and we had nowhere to park our truck without the front end being on the neighbor's site. There are pull thru's there (not available when we booked), but again, not very big. Our site was close to the back row, pretty close to the highway, so consider that noise if you're a light sleeper. That's why our noise rating was low. They had amenities that we enjoyed...a little coffee stand outside, an outdoor restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner, laundry facilities, playground, miniature golf and they fill propane if needed as well. The propane took a long time (about 20mins to fill one tank) but it was convenient to have. There is a very small fenced dog park if you own a dog. The dumpstation didn't have an open spicket to hook up a hose for our black tank flush valve, just a small hose to rinse your sewer line. Overall, we were happy with this campground and would stay again.

We called a few hours ahead to determine if there was availability, and to our surprise in the height of summer, there was a site available for the nights we were there! Overall while we were happy that we had a place to stay, we would not camp here again as the sites were cramped and difficult to back into, though of course I will admit that it is still better than a parking lot RV park.Next time we'll plan ahead better and make reservations at the dry camping national park campgrounds within the park.Pros- Availability, Location, Strong Verizon signal with external antenna (-65dBm ~ 5 bars LTE).- They seem to have every imaginable amenity, if you're into those things.- Grass and tress between sites.Cons- A bit cramped in the back section of the park, and difficult to back into the spot if there is a vehicle in the opposing site. With our SUV we still had to pull partially into the parking strip of the site across from us, and another person with a large pickup truck was inches away from swiping my SUV when backing up into his spot across from us.- Cramped parking on your strip - you basically just park on the grass - many people don't understand that they need to park OFF the main road, so pulling out of your site is a pain too.- Holy moly $67/night?!

It is located right on the corner of the park and you can back up pretty much as far as you want. Beats any of the pull thrus I saw throughout the park. Our spot only had w/e hookups but there are 2 dump stations on the way out of the park so we didn't have any issues. Since this park is so close to the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park the turn over rate is insane. Every night we had a new neighbor so I would suggest booking in advance if you want a good spot for a longer stay. The staff were all extremely friendly, they have dinner and breakfast everyday, the showers were fine, they make homemade fudge served in the front office, tons of Yellowstone gifts in the front and fire wood.Like I said the place was packed while we were there and it being a KOA of course the pool was too. It is indoors, heated and pretty big with a hot tub on the side. Minus the crowd, we loved it.
