No skoolies or conversions allowed. We have a smaller low top Ram Promaster with a bed and storage in it. No plumbing, kitchen or bathroom. We also stayed at this KOA in 2020 with no issues. We sent an email to the KOA staff to see if we were going to run afoul of their policies and received a prompt reply that they did not allow people to sleep in their vehicles. Strange since in the tent/patio site description it’s listed as “Used as an alternative to RV Sites for Pickup Campers, Sprinter Vans, Tear Drop Trailers and Pop-Up Tent Trailers”.2 stars for their prompt reply and easy cancellation. Minus three stars for thier misleading description and restrictive policies.

This is a large park close to shopping. There are cabins and Teepees to rent, tent sites and RV sites, pet areas and lots of rules on signs. Restrooms were clean. There were a lot of staff in yellow jackets in marked trucks and golf carts. Half the park was full of seasonal/long term residents. Surprisingly quite considering it’s location. We are not fans of Walmart parking lots or Cracker Barrel parking, but we would consider either of these next time we are in Missoula.

I’ve had a great time in National park campgrounds and even one KOA in East Glacier when I needed a shower and hot tub. This was my last night and need to arrange my luggage, decompose and shower. And another hot tub for my hiking muscles. I’ve had deaths in the family since I left a week ago and it’s just a lot. So yeah, hot tub. The workkamper Joey running the pool yells at me in the hot tub with my can of sparkling water. No Cans! What? I thought he thought I had beer. I show him my can and say it’s water. No cans! I see signs around me that say the usual “no glass, no alcohol” I point!“No cans!” He goes into men’s room for a long time (was hoping a poop would help his mood.) I tried to explain myself again and apologize if I misunderstand and he is absolutely the worst. Told me I wasn’t a lady for arguing with him. Sadly, 3 out of 4 KOA Workampers I come across need to just 100% retire from public-facing jobs. I’ve never had issues like this but to be treated like this tonight when I’m paying this amount (for van/tent spot) that is usually my FHU rate elsewhere, is ridiculous. Also, weird location but it is right behind REI if you need to get stuff. The tent/van/truck camper spots are nice though. The rest is just a not private pull thru grass field. Meh. For laundry, shower, overnight. Lots of RV resorts in area though.

We had to change our travel plans at the last minute, so the only sites available when we booked were their deluxe sites. A deluxe site consists of a regular pull-through site plus a driveway (a former pull-though site by the looks of it) to the right. While we didn’t need all that space for a one-night stay, it was nice to have. The pads are gravel and level. Some sites are partially shaded by trees while others are not.The KOA is kind of immersed into the surrounding neighborhood, giving it a suburban feel. Despite the signs at the borders of the campgrounds that warned campers not to take their dogs beyond that point, this is a pretty dog-friendly KOA. It has three separate fenced-in dog parks, two at the front area of the campground close to the playground, and one in the back corner. We only used the back corner park during our stay, and while it didn’t have any lighting within the park, a nearby street light illuminates the front gate area. The office is attached to a camp store typical of most KOAs. Adjacent to the office are a small mini-golf course, a laundry room, and a large indoor area for social gatherings. Across the road from the office is the pool with two adult-only hot tubs and a “fun center” where you can rent bikes and play games (I briefly glanced into the small building and saw a pool table in there). There is also a pull-though site used exclusively for food trucks: the campground texted us the morning of our scheduled arrival to let us know a hot dog truck would be serving dinner out of that spot. Unlike most KOAs, they do not sell propane, so just be aware of that.In terms of cell service, the average speed I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna during our stay was about 21Mbps down and 40Mbps up, and we had no real trouble steaming video for the one night we were there. The one speed test I did with my AT&T phone showed 23Mbps down and 25 up. We would stay here again if we were in the area, even for a longer stay.

( Too scared of bears.) The tent site was fantastic! We had electricity, water, lights, a cool covered picnic table, great pad area with grass for the tent. We were right next to the showers. Clean! Was slightly loud at night due to the train and some plane traffic, but that didn’t bother me. I felt safe and secure. Wifi, cell. Would definitely stay again! Was my favorite site during our 12-day trip out West.

Reserve has wide bike lanes but also has 45 MPH posted speed limit. 4/5 bikers I saw were on the sidewalks. City bike lanes/paths provide fairly good access to local entertainment and eating spots. Drivers seemed to be bicycle aware (benefit of a college town)Consumer Cellular coverage was 3-5 bars around town.

While the sites are typically close together like all KOA’s, it was easy to delineate your site from your neighbors. Clean pool, too. We will stop here again when driving through Missoula. We probably wouldn’t spend multiple nights but it’s great for a one nighter.

If reserving here, look at the campground map or call the office. Some of the sites are pretty tight and if I were to stay again, I would pay the extra for a deluxe site which is roomier. As others have reviewed, close to shopping and thus quite a bit of traffic for a smallish city. Overall, hosts were friendly and helpful.

Bath facilities are in average condition with good coverage throughout. Wi-fi speed is definitely below average as compared to other parks. Access to Missoula and I-90 is excellent. Staff is hit and miss. Some folks were very knowledgeable and super helpful. The person who checked us in was somewhat clueless about a number minor questions I had. Another employee “making the rounds” chastised me for parking my tow vehicle with one tire about an inch on the concrete walkway next to the gravel parking area. I was really surprised this employee used the “vinegar approach” with me. Sweetness typically gets better results. We will not stay here again and will try another park in the area next time our travels bring us to Missoula.

For getting to the dump on our way out we had to redo the tour all the way around the park. For a KOA, and for an urban park, the sites are very nice. Larger than most, with lush green grass. We were able to get level on our gravel site. Interior roads are asphalt. Many sites have nice shade trees, and we were able to get an open sky site for our satellite.WiFi is provided, but we weren't able to use it often. We don't use amenities but they have several. The pool was well used and looked to be well maintained.Other commenters mentioned the park is heavily staffed and we noticed this too. They were all working to maintain the grounds, and definitely keeping an eye on things. Although most are very friendly, it did start to feel a bit intrusive. Quiet the whole time we were there, lots of one-night stops so mornings and late afternoons are quite busy. Fire rings at the sites means some smoke in the evenings, but quiet time was respected. No road noise that we heard, few sirens, nothing from the neighboring apartment buildings.

We called a few days before arriving and were able to snag a 'Deluxe' site. The site was pristine upon arrival, and surprisingly well spaced from its neighboring sites for a city based RV park. 30A/50A, H2O, sewer, cable, free WiFi (although it was 'flimsy'). Getting out of our site was not simple, but we've learned to drive this monster well enough to get it done. The park is quiet at night, and relatively quiet during the day (for being in an urban area) - but there are nightly sprinklers that run and can be heard if you're a light sleeper. The amenities here are really nice - especially for kids. The pool is pristine and two hot tubs are available to those over 18.The game room offers (older) arcade games, and checkers and pool - and is staffed from 10am - 11pm. Mini-mini golf, two playgrounds, a weekly wildlife show and free roaming semi-friendly bunnies roam near the cabin and tent area. You can rent 'sit down' bikes ($), there is a nightly 'ice cream social' ($ - aka, just selling scooped ice cream from 7 - 9:30pm) and there is a buffet breakfast in the morning ($). There is even a walking path beging the office to the back the nearby shopping plaza which hosts REI, Marshalls, etc. This is a very staffed park - there are roving KOA police almost every where you go; and yes, they are mostly older folks. Which is fine, except when it comes to the kids activities, where the staff here has clearly seen 'too much' of the current generation of kids. There are about a million rules here - and it would be best if you get your kids (and yourself!) to memorize all of them, because staff is not happy when they must remind you of them. I watched several different families get scolded/threatened with ejection from the pool for doing things like: playing volleyball in the pool (too loud), one child in a family not having wristband on in the pool, touching the center rope in the pool (an under 3 year old reaching for balance), splashing too much water outside of the pool (another little-little one). We spent a lot of time at the pool, apparently. The level of direction/threats depended on who was the pool master for the day (it's always staffed). Saw two kids leave the pool area looking terrified when Linda was in charge - but at other times of the day, the reprimanding was gentler and non-threatening and much better received by both kids and adults. Anyways, just make sure to memorize the pool rules and you will hopefully be able to enjoy this well cared for amenity! Showers/toilets were clean enough - aging a bit. Overall, we had a really nice stay here - and if it weren't for watching so many parents/kids be chastised harshly we would perceive this as a 5 star place. The price is a But extravagant, but being a KOA, and a '1 night stay' kind of place for many - it's not shocking.

The perfect location for being in Missoula and that's why it has 4 stars. This might get fewer stars if we had reservations in June, but for off season it was perfect. We had stayed farther away before because of the cost, but it's worth it to be in town and not have to drive 20-30 miles to get here. It's still expensive, so that is why it doesn't get 5 stars. We thought our 2 nights was plenty. I would stay longer if it was cheaper.

The utilities worked fine. Not sure about the WII FI as we didn't use it. We just stayed one night to pick up someone at the airport. We would not stay here again.

The KOA is the only campground right in Missoula. Everything else is a good 20 minute drive outside of town, cost about the same price per night and none of them seem to be any more scenic. We typically prefer to boondock or stay somewhere a little more quiet and peaceful than KOA's but for this occasion, it was our best option and exceeded our expectations. The staff was very nice and helpful. The campground was clean and pleasant. There was a small playground for our kids and the town school busses parked right next to our site. This maybe a drawback to some but our kids loved watching them come and go everyday. We were within walking distance to REI, Costco, a few other stores and restaurants. We originally planned on staying only two nights but we're having so much fun exploring the town we ended up staying for 10. as far as campgrounds in Missoula go, this is your best bet! And it's quite nice.
