You are paying a lot for a great view and a very convenient location. Service is average, the restroom never had paper towel, and people drive fast, kicking up a lot of dust. But you do get nightly visits from elk, which is quite cool!Make sure to book a premium site.

If you want some grass and room reserve one of those. The other sites below are much smaller and good for an overnight stay, but they are closer to the laundry and restrooms. As for traffic noise, you hear none of it up here and it’s an easy walk to town to the post office or grocery story if you don’t mind one short hill. If you love seeing Elk then this is the place to be. We had cow elk resting in the grass right outside our trailer door and the bull was fairly close by. Amazing. The cable was strong and so was the WiFi. This is an excellent place to use as a base to do the whole Yellowstone thing. We will be back.

The site they gave us was the SMALLEST we have ever been in. The sewer connection for our neighbor was actually UNDER our picnic table. We couldn't believe it. We have full hookups but didn't even stay long enough to dump the next morning we just wanted to get out of there. They have so many rules and regulations it's ridiculous! The laundry facilities was unavailable except by appointment. Check in was ok but we were a little nervous about the guy writing down all of our credit card information outside of the office. I checked later to verify that they would shred it and the gal said they would. The "dog park" was quite a ways away and that is the ONLY place they want dogs to do their business. They don't want you to tie your dog to ANYTHING that they own not even the picnic table. Also you cannot put a grill on the picnic table unless you get a grill pad from them and they charge you for that. They do not allow you to leave ANYTHING outside because they run sprinklers at night? No lawn chairs, nothing. I would not stay here again if you paid me.

This is not a destination park in my opinion. Check in went smoothly but site is EXTREMELY close to neighbors. Very very cramped for our small 17 ft trailer. One night is ok but would not stay longer or stay again. Internet is good no laundry available without appointment.

There supposedly an area for a community campfire but because of COVID that was not happening. Also they supposedly have a mini golf course but that to was closed because of COVID. There was nothing to do at the campground. I would never bring kids here because they would be so bored and it also costs extra to have your kids here. Rarely did I see people sitting outside their camper. If people were at their site they would sit in their campers. You were not allowed to leave anything outside the camper because it might interfere with the grass cutting. The awning must be closed when you leave the park for the day otherwise they will call you to come and close it (didn’t happen to us but we’re told about it by the owner). The sprinklers still go on at 4am everyday we were there. The AC in the bathrooms was set so high that if someone takes a shower it becomes a steam bath in there. The owners were a very sarcastic older couple. They had a cocky answer for everything. I think they were trying to funny. I’m a very sarcastic person but I’m not that way with people I don’t know. The nicest thing about the campground is the proximity to Yellowstone National Park. I guess that why the rates are so high for what you get.

Great location for North gate entrance to Yellowstone. Saw elk in parking lot across from trailer two days. The park is dark at night so stargazing is excellent. Site was level w/separate parking spot directly across from trailer.

This is a STANDARD site, not deluxe. You can do a load of laundry in a small washing machine for $3. Then dry it (maybe get it dry) for $2. Tiny mini putt course available for free (what, no extra charge?) Sites so tight you have to walk through your neighbors "front yard" while they are sitting there in order to plug in or hook up water. LOTS of rules! Don't know how much some of them are really enforced ("Check out time 10:30-NO EXCEPTIONS!") No campfires, though there really isn't room for a fire ring anyway. Patrolled, but that's a good thing. Neighborhood with apartments and single fam homes next to park has vehicles coming and going on gravel all times of day/night. Many bright lights from homes detracts from the outstanding dark night sky.

But the sites are really close together, and they charge a "kid tax". Kid tax is what we fulltime RV'ing families call it when an RV park charges extra for kids. Hotels do not charge extra for our kids to be in the room with us so it makes no sense for RV parks to charge extra for our kids to be in our RV. Plus my parents joined us for part of the week and it was extra for them to stay in our RV also. That made this park very expensive and considering how close we were to our neighbor, we just didn't think it was worth $70 a night. But, the location was where we wanted to be so it worked out. If we're in the area again though, we would probably look for some place else that doesn't charge extra for kids. Verizon 4G coverage was good here.

Our site was a pretty average full hookup site with distant mountain views. The park also has a number of cabins. There is a large laundry facility on site along with restrooms and showers. The campground also has a gift/souvenir shop with a little convenience store. There is a little fenced-in leash free area for dogs, the park itself is not the greatest place for walking a dog. The location is in the center of the town of Gardiner, with a full grocery store nearby, as well as shops and restaurants. Aside from being minutes away from the park entrance, the Yellowstone Association office is just blocks away. This non-profit focuses on education and sells educational materials and their volunteers can provide information about Yellowstone National Park. There is also a Visitor Center at Mammoth Springs. On route to Mammoth Springs, there is an area where big-horned sheep are frequently seen. Yellowstone is a huge park and there is no location that is close to everything, even within the park. Lamar Valley, one of two areas where wolves reside, is about an hour and twenty minutes away.
