They understand that patients at the Mayo Clinic cannot predict how long they will stay and they did not demand a leave day in advance. We did not use the laundry, so we cannot speak to that. The water was not turned on because there were still freezing temperatures, and they arranged access for people to fill their tanks. It’s not far from the highway, but the noise did not bother us.

  • This is a very pricey park for what you get.

The staff was efficient but not what I would call friendly. The traffic noise from 63 is constant. It is a tight entrance due to the irregular placement of a sign that you have to squeeze by. I don't know how you would get into sites 13 or 14 if towing as it is too tight a turn from entrance. The site is white gravel with two concrete pads. We had to put the front tires of the MH off the pads to get the toad in the site, and we still barely fit. Pulled up as far as we were, we just reached the electric by a hair. There are a lot of trees which they keep trimmed in the interior roads. We had branches in our site that touched up against the DS slide. We had to ask the person across from us to move their car so we could leave – they were parked horizontal almost in the road. The WII FI was unusable. We were able to get Direct satellite in our site. We would not stay here again.

Turns out all Minnesota State Parks require reservations. I tried unsuccessfully to log in to the system and after spending a chunk of our data plan up and much frustration later, said forget the State Parks. Found the Rochester KOA online and after reading reviews that the owners can be unfriendly, decided on this place. Said on the web that they were open for the 2017 season. Called, no answer. 30 seconds later, a very nice gentleman called me back from the campground and aswered all my questions. 1/2 hour later, we arrived and found all the info we needed (what spaces were available, wifi, shower and bathroom codes, rules, etc.) on a sheet of paper outside the office, which was closed when we arrived. A very nice lady came over to assist, which was appreciated. The back in space we took was pretty level, no complaints there. There's some grass for the doggie and trees around the site and property. We counted only about a dozen other RV's with all of them looking like they cost a million dollars plus. They don't allow tents and quiet time begins at 8:00 pm. That being said, I got the impression that this was a mature campground and we were looking forward to the great potential for piece and quiet. We were not disappointed, it was very peaceful. It is right next to the Rochester Airport, but the gentleman on the phone said noise from the planes should not be an issue and he was correct, it was not. There is nearby highway noise, but again, not an issue. The spaces are pretty close to each other, but because of the time of year (April 1, 2017), we did not have neighbors very close. The 2 private bathrooms (with a shower in each) were very nice and very clean. Hot water was great! Laundry facilities looked fine, but it was after hours and there is no change machine, so we could not use the laundry. No big deal. My only small complaint was the weak wifi (Verizon 3G) signal. Oh well, you can't have it all. Located on the outskirts of Rochester, only a few miles from I-90, which was nice not having to go into the city.

  • A decent commercial RV Park close to town but not much special about it

The campground is clean and the host was friendly, but there's not much to differentiate it from many other RV Parks we've been to. There are two sections, the old "deluxe" section with paved road and some treed sites, and the new "standard" section with gravel road and no trees. Having not been there before to see the difference, we paid extra for a deluxe site but there was nothing "deluxe" about it. Fairly narrow, no trees, and the small grassy lot we did have was steeply sloped so it was not really usable. We felt that the "standard" (and less expensive) sites were larger than our "deluxe" site. The WiFi worked pretty well most of the time, but we did have problems occasionally. AT&T and Verizon both worked fine. The park is very dog friendly, with plenty of room to walk dogs inside the park, as well as nearby neighborhoods for extended walks. There's a large grassy field in the back of the park with a small pond... we walked our dogs there once but we ended up with lots of mosquito bites so we didn't return to that area. It's only a few miles to town, making shopping and other errands simple. We'd stay here again if passing through town, but it's not someplace we'd likely choose for an extended stay.

Many pull through sites, most are back-in sites. Full service sites with 30-50 amp service. Clean showers and laundry. Internet and good cell service.Close to major highway so there is road noise. Fortunately the airport is not that busy commercially, but can be noisy when larger jets come and go several times a day. You sometimes see recognizable corporate aircraft or jets from Royal families. Rochester is a major world renown medical hub.The Park caters to Mayo clients and patients. They are understanding about late departures because of appointments, the sudden need to stay longer and sometimes for extended stays due to treatment protocol. Hosts and management are most courteous and helpful.
