This campground is a short drive to Mankato. It is a good spot if you are visiting Mankato since it is only about 17 miles away. The camp sites are on the Blue Earth County Fairgrounds so I suspect that it is not available during the fair. Otherwise, it is a nice grassy area with 30 A and 20 A at most sites and 50 A at some sites. I think any length rig should fit nicely. There is a good combination of sun and shade. My first site was #13 but it had reversed polarity on the 30 amp box so I changed to site #11. They were resistant about the change but accommodated me. The sites have a pretty level area on each site. I only had to make minimal adjustments. The sites are on grass (no paved sites). The fairgrounds have a nice walking loop and places where you can get down to the river. The river has good current so watch the kids. The only campsites I saw that were on the river were using generators so they must not have electrical down there. The other campers were polite and quiet but I saw a lot of cans on the ground the next morning (I hope they pick them up before they leave). There are no full hookup sites. The dump station is very awkward (see photos). It is free but I am worried that the set up will cause spills and accidents. Rules include no glass bottles and clothes are not optional. They have wifi but I used my AT&T cellphone as my signal. There is a driving loop so you can check out your site and drive around if you approach it wrong the first time. It is hard for very long rigs to change directions.

  • Quite the redneck party place. Nice park, nice people!!

Lots of music, until 10pm, then all went quiet. Big trees, well kept fairground RV Park. Have firewood for sale in the park.
