Would definitely return.

The view of Lake Michigan was so nice that even the normal sardine-style, side-by-side slots that are typical of a full-hookup park didn't bother us. Each morning, I would take our dog across the road to the lake and see geese and an occasional loon there. I'd definitely stay here again but I'd try to make sure I got put into that lake-side row. For those one row back, some of the criticisms in other reviews apply, such as no path to the water without either going the long way around on the road or cutting through someone's site. I didn't experience any road noise worth complaining about but I could see how the pleasant-looking tent sites in the back row might have heard traffic noise from route 2.For us, the wifi was inconsistent. To be fair, we both work from the road, so we may use it more than most. Verizon signal was good enough that we could switch to our own mobile hotspot and that was fine. The grounds and restrooms were fastidiously maintained. It seems like all of Michigan keeps their grass very short--I suspect to keep the mosquitoes down--and this place was no exception. There's an on-site laundromat and the lady in the office can make change for the machines. Everyone was very friendly.

So happy we stayed! The staff and owners are super nice and friendly, the park is clean and well kept. Our site was on the road side with a view of the lake. We did not notice any road noise, the wifi was very strong and we had no problem with anyone walking through our site. The staff even offered to walk our 4 month old Cocker Spaniel when we told her we were going over to Mackinac Island for the day. Now that is great customer service! The only reason we didn't rate all stars is because they charge $2 per day if you use your A/C. This is usually included in your daily rate and we had never heard of this before. It was not an issue though because the weather was pretty chilly while we were there and there was no need for A/C.

The owner is so sweet, but this campground really needs some TLC. The bathrooms are in really bad shape. The bathrooms are in really bad shape. We had a campsite right next to the gazebo/restroom building, which also doubles as a walkway....this means that when designing the campground, they did not allow for walkways in the entire park, so on a full weekend, everyone walks through everyone else campsite. It is the tackiest thing I have ever seen. I literally ran a rope across our site to prevent trespassing, and teenagers simply stepped over the rope and walked around our stuff. The location is very convenient to town. We honestly stayed here because everything else was booked and the price was less than other places. Would not come back unless they renovate the campsites. It's hard because it doesn't seem like there are many great campgrounds in this area...but the access to the Mackinac Island ferries are great.

It is located in a neighborhood on a road that parallels Route 2. There are woods between the two roads but it doesn't seem to help mitigate the road noise from Route 2. When we checked in, we were given the password for the WII FI and the dreaded warning “when it works”. I'm sure you've guessed that meant that the WII FI never worked. Ever. We were also informed that if we wanted to use the A/C it would be an additional $3.00 a day. What?? The sites are mostly dirt with a little gravel and sparse grass around. We had to block our front tires to get level. There are some trees around but most sites are out in the open. Neighbors are close. It would be nice if the sites towards the back were terraced so they still have a decent water view when the sites in the front are full. There are little “window” views of Lake Michigan as there are lots of trees. The water is full of minerals and even with our water filters it left spots. It wasn't crowded when we were there but I imagine it could feel claustrophobic if it were. It's an easy 5 minute drive to downtown and parking was not an issue when we visited. There is a small sitting area across the street down by the lake. The seats are not comfortable but the view is great. We also discovered a nice bike ride. If you turn left out of the park and take the next right (about ½ mile), the ride goes along the lake until you get up near the Mackinac bridge. We camped here in a motorhome. We would not stay here again.
