We are Elks members so the rate reflects that. We called 3 days before our arrival to ensure we had a site for Fri-Mon and good thing as we got the last site. Great location right on the water to watch the ships and other boats (horns not bothersome at night). Close enough to town/Soo locks we rode our bikes. We were also able to launch our kayaks (carefully) from the end of the lot. Grassy sites but needed mowing! Electric equipment is older/damaged but functioned. Sites 2/3 are a little close together but sites 1 and 4 on each end provide more space if they are available. Also space for boondocking. Only had to use one block to level. Very quiet at night and lodge had a great fish fry on Friday night. There was an older 5th wheel parked in site 4 next to us the 3 nights we were there but no one staying in it. A woman who had been there for 2 weeks said the rig was there when she arrived and only saw someone a few times. Easy in/out. Plenty of room for large rigs. Verizon was good but at times dropped down. Elks WiFi with Ed well but need a password. Would stay here again.

  • Great waterfront if you can get it

This is only a 4- site campground and open to the public, so chances of snagging a site are iffy. We were lucky on a Tuesday night in July and found only one other camper. All four sites are right on the water. No beach, but a great view of the boats passing by and the Canadian side of the river. Sites are grassy, and not very level, so plan to use a lot of blocks. Water and electric were fine. No dump station but you can dump at the nearby Aune-Osborn Campground for $2.Not being Elks we paid a higher rate than members probably do.The only downside is the ship horns at night. Every couple of hours we'd get awakened by a short toot from the horns. If you like watching ships, this is a great place to be.
