This is not your typical rv park by any means! This property is actually a United Methodist Church campground and has the layout that one would expect from a summer camp. What you don't expect at summer camp are the rv sites! For $35 you get a spacious site with water and electricity, a fire ring, a picnic table and free firewood (donations are greatly appreciated, however). The RV sites are not laid out in a particular way allowing you to situate your RV the way you want to, within reason of course. This is by design as the campground is a great destination for groups having meetups or traveling together. The open-ended layout allows them to situate their RVs in relation to one another as suits the participants. (One of the staff members told me that people like to "circle the wagons" so to speak)And while this campground is fantastic for groups, there are also a number of campsites that are a little more removed from the main area, perfect for travelers who are on their own and just want a quiet, peaceful place to stay. There are clean bathhouses, covered picnic areas perfect for potluck dinners, playground equipment, sports fields, walking trails, and two places to access beautiful Lake Michigan. The staff is top notch, you can tell that they really do care about their visitors. We loved our time there and would definitely visit again if we return to Michigan in our travels.
