We were there Aug 5,6,7. We wanted to visit a few things in the area and wanted to have unlimited hot showers. Sites are very close together, and the last few sites to fill are on grass. It is a quarter for 7 minutes of hot water in the shower. Restrooms are clean and the whole campground is along a river. They have a dump station and the park is well maintained The tent sites are the best and least crowded. It was $26 for electric only. There is a white water rafting, hiking and several water falls close by. Iron Mountain (town) is only 4 miles away. This place filled up on Friday night with folks with boats and 4 wheeled devices.

  • Absolutely fantastic!

I had never been camping, much less in a 5er. Towed it all the way to the UP, got there only to find that there was miscommunication on mine and the owners part and I was a month early! not only did the owner find us a spot with electric and water hook ups, but he met us at the gate at 1145 at night, held a flashlight and instructed us on backing in, hooking up, etc. as soon as a monthly area opened up he once again helped us move the rig, back a 40 footer into a spot, and even walked us thru things he noticed we didn’t have and might want to think about. Come to find out he is in his late eighties but you wouldn’t guess that! If you say you need propane, they’ve got it! You want to build a bonfire, they have wood. There is a wonderful comeraderie with the campers and it is an absolutely beautiful area. The campground has a small lake, a natural wading pond for kiddos, a playground, trails, ‘beach’ and has river access on the menominee river. The campground is about 5 minutes from the town, on great roads! The only downside I can think of is: where we were locate we were beside a hill and it blocked some cell service. To make calls we had to step outside the camper and walk about 10 yards away from the hill to have a strong signal. We enabled WiFi calling with our cell server and got a WiFi booster and it took care of the problem. A very easy fix!
