A bit pricey for the off season but this is a well layed out suburban park that’s clean and amenity laden. Great spot for travel along the interstate or as a base for exploring DC. Yes there is road noise and air traffic noise but you’re in an urban area so that’s all to be expected. Highly recommend this park!

This is a clean campground. The sites are small but level. The proximity to DC is great, but the noise from I-95 is awful. Very nice staff and amenities. If you are staying for site seeing it is perfect, but if you are looking for a good camping experience this may not be for you.

While Cherry Hill is not cheap, it is absolutely the best and most convenient option for those wishing to visit DC. The park staff was friendly and the park itself was well maintained and clean. We drove to the College Park Metro station (only 4.5 miles away) and had no issues parking. There is a bus depot at the campground for those that do not want to drive to the metro station. The only drawback is the very noticeable highway noise, which we expected due to the location. We would definitely recommend Cherry Hill Park!

From the website I expected this to be very similar to a KOA Holiday(expensive with lots of things for kids to do, so basically overrun with small children)While it was most of those things, it wasn't overrun in the way KOA's can be.(I wouldn't suggest going to the pool however) The amenities were actually pretty decent unlike what you find at most KOA's. And the cafe they have actually has pretty good burgers. Everything was well maintained and clean. Our site was pretty level for the trailer but not so much for outdoor space. I didn't experience and problems with excessively noisy neighbors. However I will say while highway noise isn't generally noticeable in the trailer with the AC or tv on it definitely is here. The highway that runs by the campground appears to be a favorite for people who like to race their engines. The first weekend we stayed I thought there was a drag strip near by until I realized it was just the highway.Other than the highway noise the only complain I have is a small one. The sites are not very deep so alot of people have to park their vehicle right on the edge of the road. That can make it a little tight when you are trying to back into a site. Not impossible but I wouldn't want a back in site if I was a novice. The cell signal was good so working at the campground using our jetpack was never a problem. Didn't try the campground wifi because except on rare occasions I haven't found any campground that are worth the effort. One tip, find somewhere to grocery shop other than Shopper which is near by. The quality of the stuff we got there was terrible.

The easy off the hwy does come with noise as a downside. I was in the front section which is way quieter than the back section. I would suggest you reserve sites close to the office for less noise. The price was also quite high. I think for the location that's to be expected. The store was larger and better stocked then any other campground I've visited even with a lot of RV supplies. The 1.4 mile walking trail around the park was nice, the dog park was large and the park was very relaxing to walk around.Internet was good and solid. We were able to stream the entire time we were there so let that be a lesson to other RV parks, it is possible to have hundreds of guests and still maintain usable internet. Cable and cell service was good on both Verizon + ATT but didn't need it due to their internet being good. For day trips outside of DC, check out Alexandra and Annapolis. Both easily accessible from the campground.

This was our first time RVing into the WA DC area and we were concerned about traffic getting to the campground (CG). As we arrived, traffic was heavy on I-95 but manageable. Cherry Hill’s and our RV GPS directions were spot on getting us to the park. We were very impressed with this CG from the moment we entered. We picked up our package outside the office (no contact check-in) and went to premium site 93 with FHUs. Back-in was easy. The wifi was very good but the CG was only about a 1/4 full. Cherry Hill has many different ways to stay; cottages, cabins, yurts, glamping pods, premium and regular tent sites in addition to the RV sites. As we looked around we found that all of the sites, regardless of amenities, were spaced about the same. There are a few sites in the CG on the end that will give you a little more yard space like 97 (need to be a competent backer), 402, and 1723. We got 2 bars each on Verizon and AT&T. The CG’s cable provided a large selection of channels and worked well. We were impressed with the main laundry facility due to the amount of large washers and dryers, very fair pricing and very clean. The two off leash dog parks (in the same area) were nice plus there’s a well maintained walking trail that goes around this very large CG’s perimeter. We really liked how there are trash receptacles and dog poopy bag dispensers nicely placed all over the CG. Though we didn’t use it, they even have a dog walker service so you can spend a lot of time exploring the DC area without worrying about your pups. About the only draw back was the road noise from the interstate and highway pretty much 24/7, but considering the area that is to be expected. Sites 13-38 and 1500 sites near the premium tent area are the farthest away from the road noise. We would definitely stay here again.

If you are visiting DC Cherry Hill is the place to stay. I wish that we could find more parks like Cherry Hill as we travel around the country. One last thing, the laundry is first class, large with lots of new washers and dryers. Can't say enough nice things about the place, if you stay at CH I think that you will like it.

The campground itself has so many amenities. Hiking trail (1.4 miles) around the campground, pools, splash park, mini golf, dog park and run, dog walking services, cafe, nightly outdoor theater, golf carts, water and ice dispensers, WiFi, computer station, security. There are lots of sites, standard and preferred. Standard is the normal back in or pull through, with full hook ups and gravel pads, also there is a fire pit and picnic table. The preferred sites add a bricked patio and iron patio chairs and table and a grill. There is a large pool, splash pad, 2 laundry rooms with several washers and dryers ($2.50 and $.25/6 minutes.) Basketball court, Gaga pit, mini golf, Tractor rides in the evening, nightly outside family friendly movies and a 1.5 mile trail around the park that is well maintained. Make no mistake, this is an “urban” campsite, traffic can be heard all around the park from I-495, but it isn’t overbearing. However, being able to have campfire in the city and abundant trees make it feel more like camping. Campsites are fairly close, but there is still space between your neighbors. There is a bus stop at the entrance with a very knowledgeable concierge that will help you figure out where to go and what to see. The Metro train station is 15 minutes away if you don’t want to ride the bus. Staff is very helpful, answering any questions about DC or the surrounding area. Every day at 4 and 7 pm they have a Tour seminar that teaches you how to use the Metro, tour options, ideas on where to go and all kinds of other information, I highly recommend going. The camp store has just about everything you need, to include a small RV store which is almost like a small Camping world. Defiantly a great place to stay, lots to do here, and an easy place to explore DC from!

While the spots are close and the camp huge, it has a very personal touch with the staff and amenities. This is one camp that lives up to its resort tag (and fee) with plenty of activities and amenities including a splash area and putt putt. Another great amenity is the onsite bus stop that takes you to the Metro into DC. They know that you are there to see D.C. and make it easy with a map and materials to outline best bets. They also have a session every day to help with sightseeing plans. We didn't attend but I think this is a great addition. They have folks going around to shuttle you to the front and you can also call for a pick up. Exciting for me as I never see it is that they also recycle and have many bins so there is one close by. We stayed at slot 37 which was considered premium, then moved to 62. I liked 62 better based on its location with more trees. I think premium gave you a brick patio, but it looked like others had tables as well so unsure it is worth it for the brick. Overall, a very expensive camp but one that actually is worth the money.

Would stay there again!

It is about a ten minute drive to the subway, and maybe about 20 minutes into the city. (If you don't feel like driving, there is a bus from the park to the subway, too.) The RV park even runs its own tour buses, if you are so inclined. But even without all that, it's still a nice park. The staff is very friendly and professional, and they work hard to make everything good for you. They have pools, a cafe, and a splash pad. Every evening, there is a tractor and wagon driving around giving free rides around the park. The park is large so you can go for long walks. There is a grocery store just up the road, along with great restaurants.About the only drawback is it is close to the freeway, so depending on which spot you get, you may have constant freeway noise. But if you want to be close to a city, that's what you get.

It was annoying, and the bird left marks on our RV. Free wifi stunk.

We loved our site (806) which backed up to the playground which our kids enjoyed. Check-in was quick and easy and the lady checking me in was friendly and helpful. We attended the class they offer on visiting DC which was so informative and I'm so glad we did that. We were able to purchase our metro cards at that sightseeing session and she answered all of our questions about getting around DC. We really appreciated not having to drive anywhere, but just getting on the bus at the RV park which took us to the Metro station. It was so easy thanks to the sightseeing session we attended where she explained all that. We also enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings after walking so much during the day around DC. I appreciated being able to have a package delivered there too. Verizon and AT&T worked very well. I can't say enough good things about this park. It is pricey, but for us it was the best option for visiting DC. We would definitely stay there again if we come back to the area. Oh, and I wish we would have had time for the evening tour of DC that the park offers. We'll definitely have to try that next time.

This is a large well maintained campground. Spaces are a little small in width but plenty long. Sites are level and covered in a fine pebble. Unfortunately our site wasn't prepped before we arrived, the table was covered in some kind of black sticky substance and the fire pit had charcoals all over the grate. Normally I wouldn't complain about such trivial things but at $73 a night it should have been prepped. They have a very nice laundry facility. Also a cafe, video games, TV lounge, showers, hot tub and sauna. Our kids enjoyed the playground and they have an adult workout playground. The internet was good and included in the cost. Verizon was great, 20mg down and 15 mg up. We were able to visit DC twice during our three day stay. We drove in and paid for parking. Cherry Hill RV Park offers many ways to see DC including a shuttle that picks you up at the front entrance. We were happy with our stay. We gave it four stars instead of 5 because you can hear traffic on the highway constantly, night and day, as I mentioned the site wasn't prepped and they charge $5 per day for the kids. I am fine with a kid tax when the kids are provided some sort of special amenity, indoor pool, craft activity, something but being off season there wasn't anything going on at the campground.

We're used to having to pay a premium rate when camping near a city, however, we were both pretty surprised that the campground puts an additional $50 hold on our card in case we wanted to eat in the cafe or spend it in the camp store. RV parks are not hotels, there isn't a risk of my taking anything from my campsite, so I feel that this is unjustified and a bad practice. We stayed in a standard back in site for $70. In my opinion, the premium sites are not worth the additional money. When we saw them, we were happy with our choice to go with a standard site.We had family join us during our stay. They rented a 2 bedroom queen bed cabin which looked pretty new and had a nicely appointed kitchen. They said the beds weren't very comfortable.I didn't eat at the cafe, but our family really enjoyed the breakfasts. We were able to drive just a few minutes to the College Park Metro station and have an easy ride into the city on several days. This park is very large, gated, set back in it's own area and feels very safe. We will come back when visiting DC again for those reasons. I will say though that we were in the back row and the freeway noise was crazy...perhaps because the park is so quiet this time of year that there are no other noises?...all I know is that the first night I could not sleep due to the shock of the highway noise, and every night after I woke up multiple times listening to it. The park is very large and well maintained. The bathrooms and laundry were both very clean and both were very large. They offer many different activities, but nothing happens in the off season. The wifi was ok for the most part. When I asked the office about water pressure at check-in, I was told that they do recommend a water-pressure regulator, so we put ours on. With it on, the pressure was lousy. If we do come back, I will insist on a site in the middle of the park, as this location is directly between a busy road and the 95 freeway. Also, there are ponds along the back of the park and we were surprised to find crazy mosquitos when we arrived, due to the temporary heat wave that we had last weekend....on October 30th!

There are numerous activities to do such as mini golf, a water park, two pools, a hiking trail around the perimeter, and a hot tub that we took full advantage of. Getting into DC ended up much easier than we even expected. A bus stops right in the resort and takes you to the metro, that goes into the heart of the city. We drove to the Metro station which was only 15 minutes away. This was the perfect place to stay for easy access to all of the DC attractions.

We were able to buy a transit card onsite and we drove to the train station which can take 20 mins and went into the city by train which takes about half an hour. The sites are gravel with a bit of grass. The WiFi is excellent so you don't need to use your own. They are very helpful at reception and give you maps and you can attend an information session each day at 4pm but we never did. I have no complaints other than the price.

It's a very nice park in a great location (closest RV park to DC), but the spaces are very close together. Our driver's side slide-outs were just a couple feet away from overhanging our neighbor's picnic table. We saw everything there from tents to Prevosts. The free Wi-Fi worked reasonably well during the day when everyone was out sightseeing, but was unusable during evenings. The walking trail around the perimeter of the park was great for us and our dogs but we picked up a lot of ticks, so be careful. We stayed for a week and would consider staying again if the price were a bit better, but at this price, we'll stay further away from the city next time at a park with bigger sites and lower rates. We visited in June 2014 when the rate was $63/night ($57 with Good Sam).

We sold our home and lived here in our 30ft Class C for almost 90 days (9/14-12/14) while our new home was being built. We were so impressed with the campground and sorry we hadn't visited before (but my grandkids want to go back!) This is a large park, with various sections which offer different types of surroundings. In general, sites are not huge, but big enough and have a picnic table with gravel pad and some with nice trees, others sunnier. There are some large pull throughs. The bathhouses are large and clean. Ample trash cans all around. There are two pools, a cafe, an outdoor movie theater, very small gym area, nice mini golf, a camp store, a dog run, a walking trail around the park perimeter, park models & cabins, and a conference center (home to wedding receptions during the time we were there), One pool was open as long as the weather was 70 degrees- into October- with lifeguard. The landscaping is very nice with planted annuals. And this coming season, a new conference area will be open with a water park with fountains and sprays for the kiddies. The camp hosts scouting groups in several areas. Now, the best part of this campground is that it is very close to Washington DC and we saw license plates from all over the US and some outside. Many retirees and full timers during the fall were visiting a few days and taking advantage of the tours RUN RIGHT FROM THE CAMPGROUND into DC- or the bus service to the metro station, or the bus just dropping you off in DC. Not many places you can enjoy this! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, even though there is one negative and you must be aware of it: the park sits right next to the Washington DC Beltway, Interstate 495, and the noise is VERY loud. With the air conditioner on or using some white noise in our sleeping quarters, it was acceptable. But each morning at 5am as the traffic ramped up, it woke me up. Now, I needed to get up at that time to get to work, but as a vacationer... not sure it would be the best. The park is open year round and offers heated water bibs in some areas. We did freeze up one day and the worker was around soon to thaw us out. Our cell phone coverage was excellent. We watched cable and over the air TV- but didn't get some of the big sports games- had to go into the lounge in the conference center. Our internet connection was slow until about Nov. 1. Then the speed picked up considerably when the park thinned out. Not sure how it would be in the summer high season. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby, and also University of Maryland. You can't beat the location!
