They have a small veterans museum that’s cute also. Only advice is get your provisions in Wells before arriving.

Small park right off I-80 making it very convenient although on the noisy side from road traffic. Nice park – trees, grass and a small creek/pond which is very different from most parks in the area. The owners are always around working on fixing up the park or doing maintenance. They really work on the details. The interior road is gravel and the sites are gravel and grass. The biggest downside is how close the sites are together – reach out and touch your neighbor close. Most of the PT sites are in open sun except for 16 which has some shade. Some of the back in sites have shade as well. I did not use the bathrooms or the laundry. The owner cleans them daily. Verizon was spotty, small number of OTA stations, no wifi. There isn’t much of a grocery store in Wells so come loaded up or be prepared to drive to Elko (which has some really good restaurants!) It was a pleasant place to stay for a couple of days in spite of the highway road noise.

Beautiful site, clean bathrooms, quiet and friendly. We had 2 tents for our family of 5 and they charged us for 2 tent sites in order to use both tents on a single tent site. Because of that we wouldn’t stay again in tents. Great for single tent or trailer. Water access.

Plus there is a creek and garden on one side of the Park and composting and more gardens on the other. There are chairs, benches arranged strategically around the Park. We almost want to live here… except for the ever-present traffic noise from I-80, only 1-bar of ATT cell and could not stream. Also because of limitations with their septic system they have a phased dumping schedule and no black tank flushing. Would definitely stay here again and make destination along our way.

This is a great place to lay over and visit the Lamoille Canyon which is known as the Swiss Alps of Nevada. It is located just south of Elko. There is a little train noise - blowing the horn when it gets to Wells, but this all stops in the evening. Some highway noise, but not enough to bother.

It has a row of pull-through, full-hookup sites on gravel pads down the middle, and rows of back-in, water/electric sites on grass down each side. The campground slopes, so all sites are probably unlevel laterally. They mow and water the sites between guests, so arrivals are not allowed before 1pm, and the campground is rather cramped, so you must stop at the gate and call to be escorted in, and they don't allow arrivals after dark.I had the bottom site on one side (16), with a view out across the adjacent field. It had very much of a park atmosphere. There were very talkative coyotes close by, who had apparently come to feast on the hares and mice forced out by the harvesting of the hay field. Everything was spotlessly clean and impeccably maintained, and the owner or a work-camper were always around. The laundry was clean and cheap, but only had two washers and dryers. Verizon 4G was 1 bar, -118 dB, 2-4 Mbps down and 1-2 up. It often dropped to 3G or no data. The only problems, which prevent me from giving it five stars, were the truck noise and dumping arrangements. I-80 is right outside and elevated, and every truck blasts its engine brakes as it crests the hill right there. There is no dump station, so water/electric campers are allowed to dump in an empty full-hookup site. All the full-hookup sites slope downhill to the right, so unless I had got the blocks out and leveled the trailer to dump it, it was impossible to empty the tanks. When I got to my next destination and leveled up, I found the gray tank (which senses accurately) was still over 1/3 full, so the black tank obviously was too. The sewer connections were also way above ground and angled at 45 degrees, which made dumping difficult.

We had scheduled back in January to fly to Steamboat Springs, but then the virus came so we chose to rent an RV in CA. We called for directions as we approached Wells, and Nancy was very gracious in patiently giving directions. Driving up, we found Steve waiting for us on the road in a golf cart. He guided us right to our spot, and then helped me back into it. What a refreshing surprise this place was. It was beautiful, we didn't believe this could exist in the midst of the hot, barren Nevada countryside. Covered in the shade of a canopy of large trees, a small stream flowed along one side. Park benches lined this picturesque waterway, with a few small waterfalls. I climbed down to feel the water - it was ice cold! From snow melt (in August!) from the mountain near the property. The campers were quiet and friendly, no loud carousing. This oasis was refreshing and peaceful, having a serene view to the north. Two minor issues were some noise from Hwy 80, and no internet. We vacationed for 11 days on our trip, only spending one night at Welcome Station. Frankly, I wish we had stayed there for at least half of our vacation. Yes, the owners and the place were that nice.allan and lisa (PS - cell phone service was fine. I have an iPhone 7 on verizon, wasn't sure which category this fit in below)

We stayed there for two nights. The owners are super friendly but not in a bothersome way. We chatted with them one morning and they suggested some excellent places to visit in Wells and Nancy gave us some amazing fresh baked banana bread the morning we left. The park is located right next to the I-80 freeway. In May 2020 when we were there, they were repaving the roads which according to Nancy has made it much quieter. Judging by the two nights we camped there she was right. The freeway wasn’t noisy at all and it was quite peaceful. You get to camp on grass which is really awesome, and the park is next to a beautiful pasture with horses and cows you can watch. There’s also a creek and a small pond with benches and a swing on the property. It’s a great place to stop at if you’re traveling through and we really enjoyed our stay there. Everything was in great shape, super clean, and well taken care of.

I found this RV park here on Campendium. It's right off the freeway in an oasis in the basin and range country that is Nevada. I think the elevation was about 5,000 feet so even in August it was cool and nice especially with the large trees they have. It was filled with manicured green grass which was a nice contrast to the desert all around (and I am not usually a proponent of grass!). It was crazy affordable, especially with my Escapees discount. The people were very friendly. It was about 60% full on a Saturday night and very quiet. I had two bars on Verizon which wasn't enough to get my hotspot to work. The noise from I-80 was constant all night, but faded to white noise.

They had stayed at the park previous to purchasing it and told us what a beautiful green oasis in the desert it was... but until you see it, you just can't believe it! There are creeks running on both sides of the property, and beautiful green grass and huge shade trees all around. The owners host a campfire on many nights (unless the weather is too windy) - a great time to get together with fellow campers. The rate we paid reflects the weekly rate which is super reasonable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Welcome Station RV Park.Note: Wells has a small grocery store; best to stock up before coming or the drive to Elko is pretty but 40 miles away.MiFi devices worked great with cellular booster.

  • Beautiful oasis in the middle of the dessert

I really can't explain how crazy our trip had been when we stumbled upon the Welcome Station RV Park. But it was just the two of us and the park we originally reserved turned into a disaster. But it was just the two of us and the park we originally reserved turned into a disaster. We were hot, tired, and arguing when we saw this place coming up on our GPS. And the very minute we entered this park, all of our worries melted away. We were met with smiling, friendly owners and other happy campers. We stayed here on August 26th & 27th, 2017 and had the most wonderful time! Honestly, I can tell you this GEM of an RV park is a true oasis in the middle of the desert. It was absolutely magical...cool, grassy, a real stream running through, and gorgeous views from everywhere. Also VERY friendly, clean, and relaxing vibes! Not to mention easy to get to and the best customer service we experienced during our entire 3 week adventure :) We will go back every year if we can.
