We use this location as a home base as we visited family in the Chicagoland area. The only negative is the well water but other than that a great campground. We camped here in a 30’ Class C MH. Everything you need is within a short driving distance.

Internal roads are tight and sites are tight. Our hook ups were in the middle of the site beside us. The dog park was not maintained our whole visit. Pool was closed due to covid, but looked in disrepair anyway. Lots of grass areas but a ton of flies. Just seems like they are coasting until the end of the season. They charge extra for more then 4 people at a site. It is about an hour away from Chicago.

  • Tight spots, but they are almost all pull throughs!

Our spot was super narrow, just about a 4 foot grass barrier between us and the next RV on each side. We were just there for the weekend, so it was fine. But didn’t like the fire ring being right up on the road and so close to the neighbors truck. The close proximity made it pretty noisy - it wasn’t even anyone being out of hand - we could just hear every door opening and closing because we were so close together.

This is a pretty typical KOA. There isn't much in the area other than a "western-themed" shopping center next door. There is also a Railway Museum in the nearby town of Union. We had decent cell coverage on Verizon.
