We got super lucky, so it's hard to give a review that would benefit everyone. We paid for a premium site but didn't want to pay the waterfront rate, so we were one row back from the water. We were there for 2 weeks and for most of the trip no one was in front of us giving us the most amazing water and mountain views you could ask for. And I don't care how much you hate sunrise, if you don't wake up to see the sunrise here at least once, you've lost an amazing opportunity. Our view was so perfect even from bed, I just had to pick up my head and I could see the water and sunrise, but it was even better going down to the water. There weren't a ton of amenities, plus it was Sept, so there were very few kids. There was a skunk living near the area you walk down to the water and he enjoyed visiting sites at night. Kayaking is normally fantastic here, but we had a ton of bad weather.Horrible cell service! Worst of any park we've been to yet. Luckily we had an antenna that helped, but it was also so windy we almost had damage from the antennae swaying so much.Being about 30 min from Acadia/Bar Harbor made me feel far away since that's really all there is to do. There's a great bakery right across the street from the campground entrance and tons of very good lobster pounds everywhere. There's a small airport right next to the campground but noise wasn't an issue at all. You can't fly a drone because of the airport, so we decided to take a scenic flight instead. It was very reasonably priced and amazing, but not my thing due to motion sickness.

When I tried to get the site we selected, the lady asked who we made our reservations through and we said the number on the website, she replied we should have made them directly through the camoground. I told her we used the number on the website, her reply was that the regulars know the number. So when we get to the site, the 50amp power was not working and we only had 30amp. When we tried to get it fixed or moved to a site similar to what we had booked, there only reply was that it was a weekend and no one would be available until the next day or we could go to an emergency site up by the road. So not only did we not get the site we wanted, we didn’t get the power we requested, with no change in the price charged or refund.

The sites were gravel and fairly level. The power was good water was good but a bit low on pressure. Also, the water hookup was very close to the ground (about 6”) That’s just a little pet peeve of mine which makes it a bit more difficult to use. The sewer hookup at most sites that I noticed was several inches above ground. The park is right next to the Bar Harbor airport and they have quite a few scenic flights in and out all day so if that bothers you, maybe try a different place. There is a path down to the rocky beach which is very attractive. Lots of big rigs parked in the high dollar spots. The restroom and shower facilities are ok but in need of a bit of an update. All in all it’s an acceptable RV park but just seems like there is much less maintenance going on here than in Timberland Acres. It is about 10 minutes closer to Acadia so that’s the best thing about it.

The park does have free wifi, but you get what you pay for. The service dropped constantly and was barely useable. We had 1 bar of AT&T without our Weboost, and speeds were <1 Mbps. After setting up the Weboost, we were able to gain several bars, but the service did not improve all that much. We would sometimes get >1 Mbps, but not consistently. Cable connection at the site for 60 or so channels. Our site was rather short for our 37-foot fifth wheel, and we had to park our truck in the overflow parking. Sites are rather close together, and we noticed our sewer connection was located under the neighbor's picnic table. They moved their picnic table, but we noticed many of the sites had picnic tables over the neighboring sewer connection. The airport nearby was noisy on occasion but not unbearable.

Back-in was easy since the sites across the road were empty (we were here the last week of September to October). From our site we could see the bay as 604 and 603 were empty first couple days of our week long stay. We had requested three choices on sites 6 months prior to our stay but only one was available, site 630 and they advised it would be a tight fit since we had opposing slides. We checked it out upon arrival and it would have been tight. This was a large park with pull throughs up front then back-ins towards the water views. Water view sites for the most part were crowded together. There was a dog park with a fence and gate into a large area (about two acres) with dog agility equipment. However, there was a sign that stated dogs had to be leashed as the sides and back of the “dog area” were not fenced. Big disappointment that this area was not off leash, and not sure who can run fast enough with a dog on a 6’ leash to work agility? We also noticed that the dog waste bag holders in the park were empty the whole week. We got 2 bars on Verizon and 1 bar on AT&T. We put up our WeBoost, which took our Verizon signal up to 3 to 4 bars. They had a good variety of channels on the cable service. With all the transponders throughout the park, the WiFi worked above average compared to other parks this size. We were surprised at the amount of road noise we got this far back in the CG. Our friends had a water view site and said the road noise was really bad at their site. There was an airport nearby that had regular jet flights and scenic tours. The noise from the airport was mainly during the day and not too bad. With the other campgrounds in the area, we would try somewhere else.

It's only about a 30 minute drive from the campground to the top of Mt Washington. We stayed in site 802. It was a large gravel back-in site. Full hookups. 52psi water, 50amp, and sewer. The sewer connection didn't screw in and the donut wouldn't grip very well so we had to use weights to keep the hose from coming out of the sewer connection. Never had a problem but we crossed our fingers every time we pulled our black tank valves!Cell service was barely accessible. Only 1 bar or less on AT&T and Verizon. Not good enough for streaming. Had to walk around the site and the campground sometimes just to make a call or check social media. We stayed for 6 nights as part of our Thousand Trails membership. I'm still unsure how much we ended up paying because we were at first charged extra for children we don't have. We haven't had any issues at 25 other TT campgrounds this past year, but Narrows Too said our reservation had a couple extra children and an extra adult so they charged us more. The office workers were rude and said "it's not our problem" and it took a couple days for the manager to call us back and let us know that they refunded some of our payment. The emailed receipt has multiple charges and multiple refunds so we don't know what the final cost was.But aside from the payment issues, the campground was fine for what we needed. The campground was almost empty when we stayed. We were assigned a site over in the corner with a couple other RVs. One neighboring RV wasn't occupied and the other neighbors were out exploring like us all day so it was pretty quiet. The "beach" looks pretty when the tide is in, but when the tide is out it's basically a muddy mess. No big deal since we just drove into Bar Harbor for better beaches.

Our site was well maintained. The staff was very friendly. The pool area is in need of updating and it would be nice to have a swing set or something for the kids. The dog park was great but would have been nice if it was fenced in. Sites looked well maintained overall but additional gravel was needed on some of the roads and weeding was needed on many of the sites as grass was growing into the gravel pads. The location is great and is a greet jumping point for Acadia. Be sure to check out sugar bakery across the street!

Those paying retail can expect to spend $60- $100 a night, depending on the sites type. They offer water views that are truly stunning. All sites are level, but close together so meet your neighbor! As a bonus, this campground is on the FREE SHUTTLE that runs all over the island. This campground is nicely located just before the Trenton Bridge entrance to Mount Desert Island, home of Acadia National Park, numerous fishing villages and lots of beautiful hiking and biking. Its also home to trendy Bar Harbor, and visiting hordes from the many large ships that visit, so bring your deeper pockets as prices are high. Seafood (lobstah!) is everywhere but ask around...many of the restaurants are over priced. Look for specials at the lobster pounds (we found Trenton Bridge to have the best prices this time around). Also, make sure to add Ruth & Whimpy's Lobster Restaurant to your list and go on the nights they offer special pricing. There is much to do in this beautiful part of Downeast. Be sure to drive the ocean roads and check out the small villages; many have large, beautiful granite sculptures created by the Schoodic Sculpture Trail (Google it). Visit the "other" side of Acadia National Park, located on the Schoodic Peninsula; enter via Winter Harbor and don't be surprised if you see artists set up on the side of the road, capturing the view. If you are in the area, in August, there are many places you can go to pick wild blueberries or simply photograph those lovely beauties (expect blues, reds, oranges as the nights get cooler). Enjoy!

I arrived during a pretty heavy rain and they still offered to help be my second set of eyes to back into my spot. Every staff member I talked with was great! They advertise free WiFi but at site 844 it was useless. Cell service was also not reliable, didn’t do a speed test it was so bad 90% of the time. Luckily I only needed to work a couple days while here so I drove up to the Ellsworth Dunkin Donuts ~15min away. The Island Explorer shuttle (free!) runs during the summer season only and takes you all over Mt. Desert Island, including all over Acadia. It’s the perfect location for exploring the area. The showers were individual stalls that locked and were close to site 844. However there’s no ventilation in the shower stall so it was pretty miserable. Sites are full hookup including cable. The power was a little finicky so make sure you have a surge protector that you plug directly into the box first. Plenty of room to walk the dogs without encroaching on other’s sites. They tout a dog area but it’s only fenced on one side with the other three sides heavily covered with vegetation but with a beagle, that isn’t sufficient. Sugar Bakery across the road has the BEST blueberry donuts and frozen blueberry lemonades. C-ray lobster on the island was my favorite lobster place. I would stay again but not if I have to work. I’d make sure reliable cell and internet aren’t an absolute must of you chose to stay here. The airport is next door and it can definitely be loud at times but with other noises you get used to it.

The shuttle bus is a great way to get to the park so you don't have to worry about finding parking, but it takes a lot longer. Plus once you are in Acadia the buses are so crowded and it is hard to get around the park relying only on shuttle bus transportation that may or may not show up with a fully packed bus that you can't get on. We felt like we didn't really have a choice though because parking within the park is so limited, especially for a dually truck. Anyway, the campground has some beautiful views! We would have loved one of those sites that back up to the water, but I'm sure those are not included on the "free" Trails Collection sites. The staff is super friendly and helpful! Verizon and AT&T each had 2 bars, but T-Mobile had none.

We had a couple of nights of very heavy rain and the site is maintained properly with the right amount of gravel preventing it from getting muddy. This was a big plus. The only downside, and it isn't a big one for us, you're near the airport and occasionally hear planes. Also, from our site, not far from the main office, you can hear traffic going by. This was surprising to us because we were pretty far from the main road. Thankfully, there isn't a lot of traffic and it didn't bother us. We're not big TV watchers but like to test everything while we're on site. Cable TV worked very well. WiFi was good, but...... It seemed to drop on occasion and while we didn't have any trouble streaming movies, browsing the internet was difficult as the speeds were VERY slow. Using Speedtest.net I was seeing download speeds only as high as 5mbps and as low as 0.56mbps. There are multiple Wifi connections available and we were always connected to the strongest signal available.Other than the WiFi issue, we definitely recommend this campground. We also highly recommend the Sugar Bakery across the street. The blueberry pie is outstanding. Be aware, if you're late risers, like us, they close at 2:00.Lastly, just as an FYI, as we're Thousand Trails members, the rate was great. However, be aware, TT members do not have access to their premium waterfront sites. They can be purchased at a 20% discount using the TT credits.

This was the last two weeks of the season for them so there was not much going on and they were cleaning up and preparing for winter. We still loved it.This campground sits just outside of Dessert Island at the Trenton Bridge.  It is a fantastic location. The campground has amazing views of Cadillac Mountain and is right on Eastern Bay. The grounds at the Narrows are tiered so that the spots further away from the water are a little higher and even if it was packed most spots would have good views. Many pull through sites, some are back in and the roads are wide and comfortable. Propane was decently priced, laundry was good and the workers were friendly.  Decent internet from campground. Spots were decently sized and level. We felt safe allowing the kids to go to the lake and ride bikes by themselves. It was very close to Acadia and Ellsworth, many lobster shacks and other dining available. This was a pretty simple campground but it was exactly what we wanted.  Being so busy at Acadia and around the area I think a campground with a lot of amenities would have been distracting. We spent some time at the campground but most of our time exploring. It is near a small airport and the planes can get a little loud at points but there are some very cool planes that fly overhead.

You have to drive this way to get to Bar Harbor island at all, so we did not think it was anything of a problem. Also, a bit surprised the spots were all so large (most places will stick as many spots in as possible and make the spots small). We got a nice pull thru spot and though we were up on the top area, we actually had the best views. The back in spots were also really spacious and some people would pull into the back in spots the opposite ways so they can have the view and block evening sun. There were some amenities and of course the pool was closed late in the year, but we wish there was a playground for the kids. There was even a great location for it and with everything else they have there, that playground would have solidified it.A small negative is this place is just at the end of the runway from a small airport for plane that do tours over Acadia National Park. So there were some small planes taking off all throughout the day. They get quiet at night of course, but that is a bit annoying. So many other reviews do talk about this being expensive and that is true, the spots are quite a lot, but we joined Thousand Trails and added the Trails Collection and were able to stay here free. Feel free to follow us on Facebook to find out more about our adventures.

We could see the water from our site, so long as we didn't have any immediate neighbors to our right. The staff are really kind and helpful, and the amenities were adequate. But you simply can't beat the location. We didn't want to stay on the crowded island, and this is so close, it didn't bother us we had to drive a few miles to get to Bar Harbor or the Park. The Explorer buses are awesome. They're free and we could take our dogs on them! We used them to get to Bar Harbor and the park if we didn't want the hassle of driving/parking. The campground is pretty well maintained, but there are few trees, so a lot of the spots are in a long line of sites with little privacy. We didn't have many neighbors and backed on to trees, so we felt a little more out of the way. The airport is right next door, so you will hear noise. But we have lived near a Navy base for 8 years, so are used to jet noise. TMobile phone service is non existent. Verizon boosted is fine. Camp Wifi was actually pretty good - there are a bunch of access points, but not a huge amount of bandwidth though, so at around 4pm - 10pm , it is pretty useless. We loved being in Maine, and would go back again in a heartbeat.

But there are some spots that you can pretend you're on your own. The waterfront spots are pretty spectacular, and the ultra premium ones do offer vegetation between them. We splurged and got one of the non-premium waterfront spots - which are VERY tightly packed in. But, we got an end spot and pulled in forward for an amazing panoramic view and relative privacy. One ding during our stay was the park was doing some sort of maintenance that required them running a loud generator outside our site most of the day. Pretty annoying for the asking price of the sites, but we understand maintenance has to be done (power wasn't out, why couldn't they use nearby power pedestals?).The location however is quite central - easy access to Bar Harbor and Acadia, as well as Ellsworth for shopping & stocking. Overall, not a bad place at all to explore the area from.

We stayed here in October 2015, towards the end of camping season for this location, so pickings were slim. The location of this campground is very convenient - about 10-15 mintues to the Hannaford's grocery store, Walmart, etc. Another 15 minutes to Acadia National Park and 20-25 to downtown Bar Harbor. Great laundry facility - clean, lots of machines. Clean toilets + showers as well. Our site had full hookups - 30 amp, water, cable and dump.Campground is well manicured and clean. Sites are not private and most are small and close to one another. You will pay a premium for a waterfront site, but it may be worth it as a lot of them had brush, bushes and trees in between the sites. Our site was pretty good. Despite not having separation between us and the site next to us, we were on the corner and had at least one side of privacy. The last two mornings had the spot across the way from us empty, so we woke up to waterside views.Water access was nearby and even though we don't have kayaks with us - yet - we walked down to the shoreline to hang out by the water as well as stargaze at night. We'd probably return, mostly for convenience and not so much the actual campground experience.

The more expensive sites have some trees, and the really expensive sites have trees and a water view - but you will pay close to $100/night for that privilege. While we typically enjoy a more natural feel, this was the only place in the area that had sites available on short notice (Maine is a VERY popular place to camp in the summer). The park was very clean and well maintained, the staff friendly and accommodating, and the location convenient to visiting Acadia NP.
