After some initial bumps with electrical hook-up we were relocated to a water access site.We found the staff pleasant, campers were friendly and respectful and there was good access to water activities, golf cart rentals and local destinations in Damariscotta, Rockland, Camden, etc. There is a good mix of retirees and young families. Why didn’t I give it 5 stars? Well, the hiccup with the power to the site was a pain. It took a while to figure out. Our feed was more like 15 amp vs the 30’amp description. The sites near the water could have used more gravel (very muddy after a rainfall) and the beach area could have a bike parking stand to allow for pedestrians to get past the golf carts and bikes in the way. And do your homework— several sites are not level which is a problem for a tent or a long trailer. On the positive side - many of the sites are spacious and offer water views. There’s a dock/boat launch. If you want a private dock select site 61. Other sites have water access but if you don’t like weeds — wear your water shoes! The campground is quiet and quiet hours + speed limit are respected.

  • Great for families, lots of activities, not great if you want quiet.

Some greenery between sites provide some privacy. The grass in the pad area was cut low, but there was a lot of poison ivy around the edges of the site! One bath house with flush toilets and pay hot showers was clean, but can be a bit of a walk from your site. Two nearby porta potties were helpful. There is a roped off swim area, but children were playing in the water right at their site nearby. This led to a very noisy daytime experience. There were also children running about and riding bikes around the campground but they were in no way disrespectful. Quiet hours at night were respected. If you are looking for a great family campground with lots for your kids to do, (playground, swimming etc.) this is the place for you. If you are empty nesters like us, looking for a quiet stay, this is not your place. However, there seem to be many trailers set up for long term/seasonal stay and we got the impression that many campers return year after year. There are clearly reasons that folks would come for the entire season, such as friendly staff, live music & bonfire on the weekends, swimming and boating on a beautiful pond and access to lots of mid-coast Maine activities.

  • Very clean, well taken care off. Fantastic owners and staff!
