We didn’t get the passport rates but so glad we paid more for the spots over by the cabins (61,62,63). Nobody was staying there and we had the area all to ourselves. It was much more spaced out than along the rows. Roads are bumpy in but doable. Doesn’t allow check in/checkouts on Saturdays. Golf cart rentals $50/day weekdays and $75 weekends. Catch n release most bass but will let you keep catfish and others based on the pond you fished from. Sunsets beautiful. Walmart nearby.

The road is fairly narrow for me to get my long rig backed in - and to not drop the front of the truck in the pond! I managed, but was glad there were open sites on either side of me. Otherwise, the sites are level, good concrete, adequate utilities - though the placement of the water spigot is such close proximity to the sewer connection concerns me. The water is municipal and rather highly chlorinated. The roads inside the park are deteriorating pavement which means some sections are essentially gravel. The public roads leading to the park are likewise in poor shape, though not the fault of the park. The indicated route from I-10 leads across a narrow bridge with a 5 ton weight limit posted. I'll be looking for an alternate route out. One of the odd things was the expectation that we wear tight-fitting wrist bands for the entire duration of our stay. We were there 3 weeks. It wasn't highly enforced during the off-season, but if it was that might be a deal breaker for me. The area has a lot to discover and enjoy. This was our first time in a Cajun dominant cultural area and the history and food have been wonderful to learn and enjoy. The nearby Atchafalaya NWR and surrounding water features were stunning in their winter mode, we fully intend to be back in this area when it's all leafed out.

We canoed in the Shake Your Trail Feather festival on Bayou Teche. The RV park was close the the canoe trailhead. Take the time to explore the city of Breaux Bridge. Go to Poches Market and buy some pork sausage stuffed with jalapeos. Also, be sure to make a reservation and go eat at Little Big Cup in Arnaudville about 15 minutes away.Stayed in campsite #69. Back-in site with concrete parking, picnic table, and fire ring. 15A/30A/50A, water, and sewer hookups. It has a nice grass area with fire pit in the rear of the site next to the lake. Not much shade in the campsite. The site is located on the lake. Neighbors were pretty close. Roads in the park were asphalt or gravel. The free WiFi throughout the park was adequate for checking emails, surfing the web, etc.We camped in a Travel Trailer. Would definitely stay here again. They keep the grounds up nicely here, and there is lots of fishing! The sites are level, have concrete pads, fire rings, picnic tables and full hookups. Easy to maneuver for big rigs. The sites are pretty close together and people drive pretty fast through the campground. It wasn’t full when we were there so it was quiet at night.

The FHU sites are almost all back in and placed around one of the stocked fishing ponds. There is a pool, splash pad, clubhouse, dog park and more. They have no cable but our tailgater Dish worked well and there were also many OTA channels. Both our Verizon and ATT cell phones worked. Their WiFi worked until the park got really full. You can rent kayaks and even golf carts. The check in staff is friendly. We are self contained so I didn't check out the restrooms or showers.

They have a small store in the office with just about everything you'd need, and a larger market 3miles away with everything else and a restaurant. I didnt like the bathroom setup, a plastic curtain for the main door and shower curtains on the showers AND bathroom stalls. Also this area is inside the pool area, so I imagine in the busy season it's hard to get a private shower. But pressure was good and water was hot. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Concrete sites were level and had good size "yard". Its definitely a place for fishers, they also have some fun rentals like kayak and paddleboats, and they are working on golf cart rentals too. Playground with a cool splash pad in a partially shaded area. And they have laundry, $1.75 to wash, $1.50 for a 30 min dry cycle. Stars were beautiful. Wifi drops out but works well if your in the right spot.

The campground is not right off the freeway but getting here was not difficult. It was super quiet when we were there but I am sure it must be busy during the summer. The campground is very clean. We would definitely stay here again. They also have free wifi which was good.

The sunset over the fishing ponds is gorgeous, and the cart pathways through the park are a fun, quick ride. Make sure to grab a combo plate at their sister store/carniceria maybe two miles down the road. An extra order of gumbo made a perfect breakfast over grits on our departure morning.

Water fowl and turtles make for quiet entertainment. Our site was concrete and level with well placed utilities. Picnic tables on the water with some small trees. Open sky for our satellite. Not a lot of space between sites, but not horrible.Interior roads are bad, even for Louisiana who has the worst roads in the country. Rough transition between road and site. Nice staff with easy check in and consistent maintenance of the grounds. There are a couple cabins and a community hall, a small pool, and laundry on site. Park WiFi works better than most. The RC airplanes and gun shots were louder and more annoying our second stay, but not too bad. It's just so pretty here that having outside noise takes away from the peace of the place.Rate reflects one week stay with Passport America and Good Sam memberships. Owner is good about giving something for all of them.Close to everything you need in Lafayette, but very rural setting.

There's also another huge fishing pond ringed with grass and trees to walk the dog around. We saw turtles, ducks, geese, and one standoffish great blue heron. There are several ponds, as a matter of fact (it is a fishing camp), but there was just enough breeze to keep the mosquitoes at bay. We didn't use the restrooms, pool, or laundry. but the grounds were kept very well, and the staff were very friendly. We had site 83, it had a very large grassy area surrounded on two sides by the water, so the dog could be off leash and not be tempted into another campsite.CONs: No privacy between sites, though the place was pretty empty while we were there, and most sites were on the other side of the lake. If you're there when it's full, it might feel crowded, though the sites are only on one side of the road that rings the lake. There's only one dumpster near the front of the place, it’s a long detour if you’re carrying your dog’s poop bag; a few trash cans scattered about the grounds would be nice.(Note: The $20/night was with Passport America)
