This site is about 30 miles south of Lafayette, near Palmetto Island State Park. As noted in other reviews, this is just a bit of land with 4 full hookup spots. We took the last site, between two other rigs with about 8 feet between us, so no privacy, but, with full hookups for $15/night, we couldn't complain. The sites are partially shaded by some large trees and are mostly gravel, but the area on the passenger side of site 2 was just dirt, so it got a bit muddy when we had rain. There is plenty of space to park vehicles opposite the RV sites. There is one standard trash can shared by the guests, but no other amenities. Note that the electric is 50 Amp only, so you'll need an adapter if you have a 30 amp rig. The outlet on the post has no breaker, and is mounted too low, so you have to be creative to keep your surge protector vertical so it is safe. Joe, the owner, is very friendly and helpful, and comes by to collect fees when he is not busy with his nearby farm. Call him in advance to make sure there is space.Using Open Signal, Verizon phone connectivity is about 3 Mbps up and down (outside). Our MoFi cellular router got 15 Mbps up and down on AT&T.Overall, this is a great, quiet spot out in the country for visiting south-central Louisiana.

  • A quaint little place.

This is a very unique situation. Basically what you have here is a small plot of land outside of Abbeville, LA that is part of a farmer's property. There are only 4 spaces, with full hook-ups. Located on a quiet country road, just down the street is a really cool old cemetery that is under oak trees. There are no bathrooms but with full-hook ups we didn't need one. There was one other trailer parked there, but no-one was home. When we arrived, we called the number given and the farmer came in from the field he was working in to make sure everything was good and to collect our fees. This is more or less a way for him to make some extra cash so no credit cards machines are used. We gave him cash although he may have taken a check if needed. We used our Passport America to get the $10 fee.
