Was met at the registration building by the attendant who informed us things were a little hectic right now due to the campground recently changing owners. The sites were fairly close together, but not too bad. The sites along the outside of the campground were very muddy. At the sites stating 120volts the electric is actually shared between two sites, so make sure you bring a splitter, and be prepared to flip the breaker. We didn't run into any issues until we tried to run the a/c units in two different campers at the same time. The site we had backed up to a small stream which was nice. There are some nicer sites along the outside of the campground. The fishing pond was a joke, completely covered in algae. There is no camp store. They do sell firewood by the wheel barrel, only charging $20. Luckily we weren't at the campground much, spending most the day hiking. It is in a good location close to several trails. The attendant would leave around 9pm and then there was no one to supervise the campground. Only ran into one issue where some people renting out of the larger cabins came tearing through the campground going around 60mph, blaring their stereo and yelling out the window, it didn't sit well with me. The bathroom were decent/poor condition. The men and woman shared both a restroom and bath house. The showers were in individual rooms which were a decent size, but the shower stall itself was very small. They had no drains on the floor so water would pool up badly. It is fairly close to the highway and you do you get some residual noise but it's not terrible.

The site is fairly un-level from front to back so make sure you have plenty of leveling blocks. The campground is overall in good shape. We came during the middle of the week so the grass was a little longer then we wished it was but overall nothing to complain about. The campground is one big loop, with most of the sites on the inside of loop. I was able to work, and have a video conference with zero interruptions in cell service with AT&T. The staff were super friendly, helpful and accommodating. We asked if we could have a slightly later checkout on Sunday so we could do some hiking in the nearby Red River Gorge and they were more then happy to help us out. It’s super nice that they provide free wifi, but it isn’t fast enough to rely on for a video conference, loading high bandwidth apps and such. Fine for checking email and social media.

There were signs saying quiet time started at 10pm, but I could not find anything about that online. The owner helped us find our site which was nice. My wife and I stayed here 3 night and really enjoyed our stay. Here are some pros and cons:Pros:Amazing location! 2 miles from Natural Bridges and 6 from Red River Gorge. Had everything we needed - electrical, water, shower and bathroom.Campsites were decent sized.Everyone was super friendly! Nice cabins that can be rented!Anything from primitive to full hookup (minus sewer). Cons:Bathrooms were fairly nice and cleaned daily, but people didn’t appreciate them and often trashed the showerhouses with mud.Not much for kids to do. Pond was very overgrown with algae. Close enough to the highway that you can hear trucks throughout the night.

  • Very nice once owners get things fixed.

I was extremely pleased with the campground layout, the staff, and the location. Only setback was the electric kept going out here-and-there. You could tell they were in the process of replacing water lines and electric. Every time a breaker “flipped”, staff were back out getting it back on. More of a nuisance than anything (because it was so hot outside). Electric was never off for more than 30 minutes. After two days of this, staff drove to our campsite and offered us an entire weekend for free whenever we choose for the electrical inconvenience. We were very please and will definitely be coming back, after the water lines and electric lines are replaced.
