We scored one of the best sites in the campground for our first 3 nights - site 43. We had space out of our front door and a green 'lawn' (ok, it's technically the leech field!). Our stay in this site provided quiet nights, although the bugs did try to eat us alive once dusk rolled in.We then snagged a cancellation in site 15. The cancellation was due to someone having previously booked the site, arriving, being appalled at the site, and insisting on their money back. And honestly, I don't blame them. The site is absolutely sardined in next to its neighbors, facing one neighbor buddy site style. It has no picnic table, and is terribly unlevel with dirt rolls and ruts. But, we WANTED to stay for a few more days, as our nephew was enjoying his time with the pack of kids that roam the park (most of this pack is at the park on and off, as their relatives have seasonal sites). So, we made site 15 work. This is an older campground, with older amenities that are either being very slowly updated or simply 'patched' for now. There is a newer-looking pickleball court. The pool is unheated and showing signs of age, but usable. There is an older swing set in one area and a small backyard-style play structure in another area. There is a community rec building with VHS tapes but no working VHS player. About half of the campground seems to be filled with seasonal residents, most of them older in age and a bit cantankerous. The camp hosts were all very friendly. We enjoyed our stay here because it met our specific needs at the time: a nice group of kids that were able to roam the small park safely and a pool for the nephew. I would suspect that those who don't have those needs may be less pleased with their sites or stay - depending on which site they land in. Verizon cellular data service was highly usable for our purposes, which included video streaming, video conferencing, etc.

This is a great campground in the process of rebuilding and renovating their facilities. CHC is in the heart of the greater Camden, ME area with easy access to many sites, activities and fun things to do.The park was recently acquired by new owners who are investing heavily to improve and upgrade the park; the previous owners let the place deteriorate a bit. There is a pool, rec hall, small camp store, and laundry on-site. The campground is small and has a mix of seasonal and transient campers. The camp hosts were awesome; very friendly and helpful. We were met at the office upon arrival by one of the hosts who directed us to our site and helped us get backed in.I would stay here again in a heartbeat and we plan to when we return to Maine next summer.Note: Our Garmin 730 RV GPS directed us to the Migunticook Campground (even though the description included the Camden Hills address on Applewood. Google Maps found Camden Hills without any problem.
