Hookups were not conveniently located we needed both our 25 foot hoses to hook up to water. We were on site 23 our water hookup was in site 24. Our site had no fire ring, but most other sites did. The showers were nice and clean with plenty of hot water. Wife said the shower she used had low water pressure. Power was clean according to our Power analyzer/surge suppressor. Water was iffy, we use an RV inlet filter and a Britta pitcher and the water still left sediment rings in our coffee cups. We Camped in our Motor Home with full hookups. Some have mentioned train noise, I didn't hear or notice this. It might be an issue if closer to the front of the park. Received over 50 OTA channels on our TV with antenna pointed towards Chicago. Would stay there again.

It’s an older campground with an older playground area but was well kept, level sites and a calm atmosphere. Campground campground is not lake side, it is about 1 to 1 1/2 blocks walk to the waterfront.

If you stay at the campground, you have access to a small beach down the road a bit owned by the Ministries. There is WiFi, but the LTE was strong enough that we did not need it. Due to COVID, we did not use the bathhouse, so I cannot speak to its cleanliness. Each site had a picnic table and fire ring (our fire ring did NOT have a cooking grate, and the picnic table was a bit wobbly.)There is a train track that runs very close to the campground, and during a weekend stay, there were roughly 4-5 trains that went through. Only 1 or 2 of those were after dark - but if you absolutely need silence at night, that's something to keep in mind. There is a crossing right next to the campground, and they do blow their horn as they cross. They did not bother us at all - and were not overly loud once inside the camper. Tent campers may have a different experience...Backing into our site was easy, with a park in front of our site allowing us to "cheat" into the park a bit when backing up. Larger fifth wheels/toy haulers may have more issues, but only in amount of time taken, nothing prohibitive. We stayed at a full-hookup site with a 30/50amp connection. One thing that MUST be considered is that there seems to be little rhyme or reason where the electrical pillars are placed. On our site, #28, our 20' 30amp cable was nowhere near long enough to reach the hookup, and we ended up borrowing an extension from the (very friendly!) campground host. Our water hookup was roughly 15' away, but the site next to ours shared the same water hookup pillar, and they were at least 40' away from that same hookup. I also saw a site down the road a bit that was probably 40'+ away from their water, over a small ditch! So - have extensions with you, and/or be prepared to head over to a nearby camping store (Pete's in Schererville is a good one) to purchase one.

Our dog loved the huge open field and the cats and other wildlife. The park was near a commuter train so you could hear the train at times but was not a bother. We will definitely come back.

Site quality was also pretty good, though the utilities were somewhat oddly placed (at least at our site). It took some maneuvering to get to the various hook-ups and we had to use our extension hoses and cords. We used this campground as a jumping off point to visit Chicago. Getting into the city was do-able, but a bit of time. We took the commuter train in from the East Chicago station. All told, it took us over an hour to get to Millenium Station downtown. Customer service was very efficient and friendly. To be honest, we were a little nervous about staying somewhere that was owned and managed by a religious organization. They do have rules about alcohol use on their website and in the confirmation email we received after booking our stay, but no one said anything once we were at the campground. We were respectful of their rules and no one made an issue of anything one way or another. The only complaint we had was their quiet hours didn't start until 11:00 p.m., which is much later than most places we've stayed (usual is 9:00 p.m. or 10:00 p.m.) There was a big group of tent campers having an event at the campground while we were there and they could be very loud late at night. While they weren't technically in violation of the rules, they were pretty inconsiderate of the other people staying at the campground. 11:00 is awful late for people to be banging on drums and yelling outside your door. I would have thought the camp host would have told them to take it down a couple notches, but apparently not. Other than that, we thought this campground was a very nice place to stay while we were in the area.

Full hook-ups are great, and they have picnic tables, showers and a clean restroom area.Free kayak rentals on Saturdays and you are within walking distance to the lake. Christian camp environment so the area is smoke and alcohol free. 30 minutes to Chicago makes it a great spot...and you are also close enough to Purdue and Notre Dame if you want to check out those schools. Lightning fast free wifi is a huge plus if you need to be on the Internet.Staff is nice, and the community is lovely.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Had a soft breaker at our first site but got moved to another site. Very friendly staff and quiet as it's away from the highway. The odd train comes through but didn't hear one last night.Getting about 10 mbps up/down on AT&T 4G LTE with my hotspot.
