We stayed for 4 nights at this CG while visiting the town of Ellsworth, Maine. We cannot recommend this campground. The positives: We had a quiet campsite, which allowed for great relaxation. The staff was professional and friendly, although they are owned by a management company. We needed to change sites once we arrived and it took us awhile to get things sorted out with the staff, but it eventually resolved. The downsides: The road into the campground, the closeness of the campsites. The road into the CG is ¾ mile and it is all dusty, rutted and gravel. Prepare to have a dusty rig wherever you camp in this property. This was the worst road we’ve ever driven on leading into a CG. The road in had deep ruts and potholes, and looked/felt like a washboard. And the dust just kept coming in waves as people drove in and out. The CG did nothing to control the dust clouds. And the closeness of the sites was overwhelming. This CG was big-rig friendly. There are quite a few seasonal campers and some of their spaces were junky. Many of the campers were short-term RVers or tent campers and the campground was busy all the time. There’s one central bathhouse/laundry facility. The showers were full size and hot although a bit lacking in cleanliness. There were adequate showers and toilet facilities. We used the laundry facilities and the machines worked well. Our Verizon coverage was pretty good (2 to 3 bars) during our stay although other campers told us they had no service at all.

  • Nice, but cramped

Everything worked, we slept well, there were no loud parties (thank goodness), trash collection is good, water and sewer and electric all worked. But, it is a crowded campground with little space between each site. We like a bit more elbow room and some privacy. The staff was very nice and helpful with a great dinner recommendation. But not road.
