We wanted to stay at the state park but they are closed for camping for the winter. McCall RV park was recommended by a friend. Not your typical RV park parking lot. Nice spaces with full hookups including heated water for the winter. Spaces are a bit close (it’s well spaced for an RV park) but there are trees and elevations that provide privacy. Spaces on the river would be nice in the summer. Nice indoor pool with showers and 24x7 coinop laundry. Camp wifi is good - surprise! Good service and throughput for both AT&T 4G and T-Mobile 5G. I have commercial antennas and am getting 5 bars on both. People are great here. We had a minor issue and called Dan’s mobile RV at recommendation from the office. Great on-site service. Deer roam the park and the town so drive slowly. We would absolutely stay here again.

Most, if not all, sites have a small concrete patio with picnic table next to them, so the sites feel more spacious than usual. And there are quite a few employees who drive around in golf carts providing services like picking up your trash bag from out front of your site from 8-11 each morning. They will also pick up any propane bottles you leave out front of your site, and return them full in less than 30 minutes ($3/gallon). Their six bathrooms are individual little rooms with handicapped shower, toilet, and sink. There was a place for soap, shampoo, etc in the shower and lots of hooks to hang your clothing on. And terry cloth bathmats! What a nice touch! I appreciated the treadmill in the pool area since it rained when I was there. And tho it is close to the airport, I never heard an airplane. The laundry was great, and I even saw but did not use the laundry lady in a golf cart who apparently takes away your dirty duds and returns them clean and folded. Not sure how much this costs but again, nice touch. Will stay here over Ponderosa State Park because although the park is very nice, as out of staters, it cost us $72 a night even more than Mc Call RV Resort for just water and electric!

  • Great location. Confusing process.

After check in, someone will guide you to your spot and line you up with hookups. Great place for kids with the pool, and easy walks around the park. Basically a deer sanctuary, you'll see them and up close. Nice place to walk with an easy trail down to the Payette river. Dog friendly with a fenced in dog park and plenty of poo bags throughout the park. RV pads are level with plenty of room and space between sites. It can get booked up fast so make sure to plan in advance. Ridley's close by is like a nicer, but smaller super walmart and they have RV supplies, including vent covers. The rite aid is also oversized and has additional supplies. The bike ride along the path close by is flat and provides very easy access to downtown and lake payette and the state park.

This is a very nice RV park. The staff will escort you to your site with one of their golf carts. They will guide you into your site and go over the hookups. There are full hookups which include cable TV with a generous selection of channels. The WiFi works very well. The Verizon signal was strong, 36.5 Mbps down and 6.1 Mbps up. The lodge has a heated saltwater pool, hot tub, laundry and meeting area with large TV. The grounds are well-kept. The Bad... The problem with the RV park is the location, which is directly beside the McCall airport. Just after sunrise the planes start taking off. They are small planes with an engine that sounds like a high pitched chainsaw. You will know when a plane is leaving the airport. Later in the day there is less airplane noise. Directly beside an airport seems like a strange place to build a campground. If we are in the area again we will stay at Ponderosa State Park where there is less noise.

My wife and I were impressed by how easy the spots were to pull in and out of. Large rigs are just fine. The grounds are very well kept, they have a nice dog park, beautiful pool and hot tub and even a sauna, nice indoor lodge seating and tables to use, and great staff. Loved our stay.

The sites are so generously spaced unlike so many other RV parks that like to pack you in like sardines. We loved having some space between us and the neighbors so we didn't feel so crowded. The pool and hot tub area are immaculate and we enjoyed that often. I LOVE that they don't charge extra for kids; that's one thing we really dislike about some RV parks when they charge extra to bring our kids along. This park does not do that and for that I'm so grateful! The staff is so friendly and helpful, and since I travel fulltime I appreciated them allowing me to have some packages and mail delivered there. The roads throughout the park are wide so it's very easy to back into your site. We had a site that backed up to the river and even had room to open the back patio! We couldn't see much of the river from our site because there were trees behind us, but it was still a beautiful site. Usually we don't rely on campground WiFi because it's not always very good, but this park's WiFi worked great, even better than our hotspots. Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile all worked okay, but since the campground's WiFi worked better we used that more often. There are some sites that are like buddy sites x 4, meaning 4 RVs all park in a square with a common area between them. That would be fun if you know the people in the other 3 RVs, but I would think it would be awkward if you don't know them. Just fyi in case you are traveling with friends and would like that arrangement. I just can't say enough good things about this RV park, I wish all RV parks around the country would learn some things from this one. There was only 1 thing that we did not like very much, but it really wasn’t a big deal. Every night between 8-10pm is adults only in the pool. While I get it, I also like to have a break from noise and kids sometimes, it would be nice if at least a couple of nights a week we were allowed in the pool with our kids. Maybe on those days, adults could have their own time in the afternoon. Just a suggestion, but again, it did not take away from the enjoyment of our stay at all.
