Just not ideal if you are camping with your pup. Sites are very close together, which we expected, but don’t expect to open your awning.

Behind is a new construction development that appears to be medical office buildings--they are nice but strange to look out and see that. The river walk is not visible from the park, and you need to walk down through overgrown weeds and litter to get to a paved county walk. It was actually pretty dirty and gross and not the stroll along the river you are expecting. Even though the price for this park was high for visitors, it seems to be occupied mostly by permanent residents. They were NOT friendly and actually a bit creepy; I did not feel safe even just staying over night. Most RVs in the park are very old and delapidated, and there is a ton of broken junk outside. I only stayed a night but listened to a dad yelling at his kids for at least an hour and a couple fighting. Super sketchy place, even the guy at the desk was creepy. AVOID!!

Town has grown up around this park. As other reviewers have said, the right turn off the main road is tight - more than a 90 degree angle. As other reviewers have said, the right turn off the main road is tight - more than a 90 degree angle. The roads are paved, but the sites are large, rocky gravel. The spaces are very close together. Try for site 5 as the one next door has a tree and picnic table in it and I don't think they put people there too often. The water is high pressure so a regulator is needed. Lots of road/urban noise. Lots of full timers/worker guys. But it is very tidy and did quiet down at night. The staff was person was perfunctory when we pulled in, but when I had called earlier, I got a very friendly person...The plus side of this place is that it is right in town and right on the bike path. There is a nice boardwalk on the river walking distance from the park.

A few of the sights offer waterfront views of the Spokane River. If you walk towards the water you will find the Centennial Trail, which is perfect for walking or biking into downtown. Yes this is a primitive, gravel lot and not a resort, but Coeur d’Alene is an awesome town to explore...and this is such a convenient spot to set up camp while you visit! We love that everything is about a mile away from this spot...Tubbs Hill for hiking and breathtaking walks, downtown’s quaint restaurants and shops, concerts in the park...go the opposite direction on the trail and try La Peeps for breakfast (it’s less than 10 minutes walking and right on the water). Also, there’s an awesome little coffee shop just outside of the park. Over the last three years I have stayed at several of the RV parks in town when visiting and this is my favorite location for exploring and having morning walks. It’s all about the location!
