The back of the sites are thick pine forest. Yes, the sites are tight. We had a neighbor on one side and empty site on the other side so not too bad for us. We feel the beauty of the campground as well as the surrounding area was worth being in the tight spot. And the whole Coeur d'Alene area is beautiful! The staff was great and they offer free firewood! Yes, we would stay again.

Don’t do it. Not worth $78.00 per night no weekly rate… biggest rip off the next RV is 5ft away. I don’t know they have the balls to charge this much.

Stayed here for just one night in site 45. Tons of room for Sprinter van, site was clean, bathrooms were clean, a little pricey but that includes free firewood and free showers. They have a pool but wasn't open yet. I would stay again. Can hear a bit of noise from the interstate but not a concern. There was good cell service.

Sites were tiered up a hillside so some had a little bit of a slope to them. The CG is laid out like a U with the pull through sites in the middle and back in sites around the edges. There were two pull through sites on each tier with the entry from opposite directions and the hookups in the middle making for close quarters. The narrowness of the site meant that my picnic table was fairly far from the fire pit. I did not check out the bathrooms or laundry. There is a little store for basics. Lots of activities around the park. I think this has one of the nicest lake front areas I have seen – the tent spots are down there and are very nicely laid out. They have a game area, patio, canoes (free), and free firewood! Wifi was weak, Verizon had 2 bars, didn’t check OTA channels. They did have a full recycling station which I appreciate. Overall it is a nice park. A bit on the expensive side, but they do provide a number of amenities. It is close to some nice hiking.

We had a back-in site (#24) for our 30’ travel trailer and worried about our slide outs being burned if the camper next to us wanted to use their fire pit, it was that close to our site. ALL sites are extremely narrow. So would we stay here again?? Possibly but not in the site we were in. We watched a lot of RVers having difficulties backing into their sites because they are all on a hill and narrow. Staff was very friendly…free canoes to use…hiking trails nearby…free firewood. Laundry was lacking as 2/4 of dryers AND washers were out of order so we spent quite a bit of time waiting our turn.

There is so much to do and see, I highly recommend a visit. As others have mentioned, there are pros and cons to Camp Coeur d'Alene. The sights are very narrow, but they are long enough to setup a sitting area in the back and they are terraced so it feels like you have more space. They are also very shaded, which is nice in 90 degree heat. We did not use the free canoes or firewood (burning ban). But, we did use the small pool. The laundry was disappointing. Only 4 washers and 4 dryers, with 1 washer broken and 2 dryers broken the entire length of our stay. The wifi is spotty. Sometimes it was great and sometimes non-existent. The staff were friendly and the area is beautiful.

TONs of great amenities: free fire wood, canoes, showers, games like corn hole and giant jinga. Two convenient camp kitchens and a lot of fun ways to set up a group/multi family trip. The area is off any main roads and has almost zero outside noise or traffic. Only about 15 min from down town CDA so it’s a great launch point to explore this cool area. The owner is investing in improvements, adding really nice landscaping and social areas that make it feel like a great place for family reunions and things of that nature.I will say this is not a place for secluded camping.

This is our first travel trailer and I also wanted to stay close to the dealership in case something major was missed during the PDI of the trailer. We chose Camp Coeur d'Alene thanks to previous reviews here. The campground is nestled in the woods near I-90 and although you could hear the larger trucks from our spot, I'm sure the further up the campground you went, the harder it was to hear. I could not hear anything once it got dark and the truck drivers were off the road. The staff was very friendly and our spot was close to the pool, though it wasn't open yet. We happened to arrive on the first day of the season and found the campground about 1/2 empty. The campground is situated on a hill and features tent sites at the bottom close to the water. Pull-through sites are located in the middle and are surrounded by back-in sites on both ends. The further you go into the site, the steeper the climb is but I didn't see anyone struggle with their rigs. The only complaints I would have is that the pull-through sites are right next to each other although we were lucky enough not to have anyone next to us during our stay. Each 2-spot section is tiered higher than the other like a giant staircase, but those 2 spots are only separated by the power pedestal, though each side pulls in opposite of the other. Although WIFI is offered, I was not able to connect my TV with it the first time and found it easier to just use my T-Mobile Hotspot instead. The free firewood is extremely convenient as I just pulled up my truck once and filled it up with enough wood for the two days we were there. We picked up some popcorn at the campground store and it was nice to see that they even offer bagged ice for sale. Overall the site was very clean and we saw the staff in their golf carts checking up on the sites all and sanitizing the picnic tables as soon as the spots were cleared out.We have family about 2 hours away from CDA and look forward to stopping here next time we're in the area.

The shower rooms are unheated, but the fans and heat lamps only work in some of them. Almost every morning of our visit, we got to listen to weedeaters for a couple of hours. It got old. This campground is very dog friendly and that is great! I met some very good boys. But when a dog owner allows their dog to bark, and bark, and bark, and bark, when the park is informed, they need to help the owner realize that not everyone has managed to tune that out like they apparently have.Overall, I really want to like this park and 5 years ago they were off to a GREAT start with the new management, but this time it felt like they have lost their way.

The sites are decently terraced; BUT within each terrace there are two side-by-side sites. Even across the road (the back-in sites) everything was cheek-to-cheek. We were within 3’ of our neighbors RV slide. Very family friendly w/ free canoe rental (note: there’s just one canoe), pool, hiking paths, free firewood, playground, dog walking area, great outdoor kitchens, laundry, and water access to Lake Coeur d’Alene. This is a beautiful setting in the trees and great proximity to Interstate 90. Noise from the highway was only noticeable during the day - it quieted down at night. Nice, clean bathrooms with great water pressure and hot water. No Wi-Fi signal up near our site, we had to walk down to the clubhouse/office area to get any signal. This place was PACKED on a Monday night in July. Best to book in advance. I like that their website allowed me to pick our specific site. Very friendly welcome. You can tell they’re trying to keep things running smoothly and improve their facilities. We love supporting well run, cool, and fun little places like this. NOTE: some people complained about the steep gravel road within the campground... yes, it is steep, yes it is gravel, but we didn’t have any trouble with traction in our Sprinter van towing a smart car up the gravel incline. If you know how to operate your vehicle responsibly, and not push the limits of physics, you’ll be fine.

We were a bit dismayed to learn there wasn't a dump station, and had to drive back to town to pay for one (we had been boondocking for four days and needed it!) That was probably our fault. It's a clean campground with nice staff, but it's a bit more cramped than what we like!

The weekend was a little pre-season, so not everything was ready yet, but I could tell that it was all well cared-for and would only be a couple weeks before it fully in service. The bathrooms/showers were clean and in good condition. The entire campground was undergoing a seasonal spruce-up, and even with the upgrades going in, it didn't feel like we were walking around in hard-hat zones all the time. All the staff was friendly and helpful and always accommodating. The free WiFi was solid and had a good strength. I was able to get a little work done in the morning before going off about our other activities. As we were preparing to leave, I jokingly told a couple of the staff I was conflicted as to whether or not I should give a terrible review and then be able to keep this campground a secret to myself. Seriously, though, the next time we are in the area, this is our first choice for our stay.

Which at the end of the day, I am glad they were or we wouldn't have found this little gem. Arrival was easy peasy. We pulled in and their manager (who was awesome!) told us we could pick any open spot we wanted, and we did just that. The spot were large and for the most part level. They had some pull through spots along with some back in spots. We were able to sample each and were pleased with both. They are under new management and I have to say that I am excited to watch their progress. Kyle, the manager, was fantastic. He is personable, very helpful, and seemed to be available at all times. They offer canoes and kayaks free of charge so you can paddle around the lake. The laundry facilities were top notch and SUPER clean. I didn't use the restrooms so I can't speak to that but I did hear from another camper that they were very impressed with their condition. I will note that they have changed their name to Camp Coeur D'Alene since the new management transition.
