The bottom line is that this is a very nice camp ground with awesome proximity to the beach. We would very much like to stay here again, but we can't.We travel with a German Shepherd and as a result I am very careful to read all of the pet policies prior to making a reservation. I have no issue with breed exclusions. It's a private business and a park may have insurance restrictions or whatever. Anyway, I thought we found a great place to stay where are our dog would be accepted. On their website their pet policy states "No aggressive pets such as Pit Bulls, Dobermans, Rottweilers, etc., will be tolerated." Great! No mention of GSDs. The "etc." part is a little misleading. I was thinking wolf hybrids or something like that. The day before our stay I get a confirmation email. In that email the pet policy states, "NO aggressive breeds such as pit bulls, rottweilers, Dobermans, and German Shepard." At this point I panic a little thinking all of our plans are going to be ruined. I called the office and explained that I am diligent about looking for breed restrictions and there is a contradiction between the website and the confirmation email. The lady on the phone was sympathetic. She told me to "don't ask, don't tell" at check in and if anybody said something during our say to tell them we didn't know. It made me a little uneasy thinking that we could get kicked out at any moment, but we went for it versus trying to change all of our plans last minute. We had a very nice stay and like I mentioned I wish we could stay there again. But as of this review (1 month after my stay) they still have the same verbiage on their website.

The atmosphere is very much along the lines of a state park with large private sites, trees and vegetation but yet all the pluses of a private park like onsite propane, cable and full hook ups. Internet was a bit hit or miss though so if you want reliable internet you should bring a hot spot. There's a verizon tower in the middle of the park so obviously Verizon had great speeds. ATT was also decent. The grounds are very dusty so expect to be tracking dirt in and out but hey this is literally a stone's throw from the ocean on 1 side and the intercostal on the other so what do you expect? They kept the grounds very well maintained even after rains. They came through with a tractor to smooth out the dirt roads to ensure they were in good condition. The only negative I can think of is the check in area can be a cluster $##@ if there's a bunch of RVs that show up at the same time. Shopping and restaurants are very close by (within 5 min) so you won't have to drive far for anything. St Augustine is also very close and a great town to explore. This is 1 of my favorite private parks for the beach experience.

We had space behind our site for walking dogs privately. There is a convenient beach access for residents which makes the price worth it if you want to get on the beach. Cell service - heck yes, there is a cell tower in the middle of the campground. Two decent restaraunts in walk distance. Staff was nice, store had supplies. Obviously, there are tons of things to do here in St Augustine. Campground has the beach on the east and a river on the west for walking, etc. Bike riding is possible, but tricky in the soft sand.If it rains a little, the fine sand will stick to your shoes and everything and is pretty invasive so be sure you carry plenty of ground cover. Some folks cover their entire sites with woven poly fabric. Metro airport is nearby, so there's plenty of air traffic- small planes though.Try to get a discount using Good Sam , AAA , Military or something because it's expensive otherwise.

The campground has a two week stay limit, but we would’ve definitely booked a month at a time if it was an option. You are nestled between the ocean and the intracoastal and there are two restaurants within walking distance if that’s something you’re interested in. Publix is less than a ten minute drive away. The campground has bath houses and laundry, but we didn’t use either, so I can’t comment on those. The only negative was the dumpster- there’s only one area to bring trash and it’s at the entrance of the park. Not the biggest deal, but not super convenient if you aren’t driving out of the park or in a site near the front. This park feels like a state park, but with full hookups. The three sites we stayed in were all very private and surrounded by trees. We were very happy with all of our stays.Verizon was so fast! Download 154 Mbps, upload 36.1 Mbps. AT&T also worked, but not nearly as well.

Loved the location and private feel of the sites. Good beach access. They pack you in tight though and it’s pretty noisy. Bathrooms were generally gross after the weekenders came in. Also, only 2 showers and 2 toilets for a big section of the park is not enough. Kids made a lot of noise playing ball after 9:00pm.

Lots of tree cover which is great for keeping the camper as cool as possible however as trees/birds/squirrels do makes for a bit of a mess on your roof and awnings. Our site was along a side road that goes back to a public pier so we did get some of that noise but you couldn’t see any of the traffic so it was not a biggie with a old growth barrier in between. Beach is right across the road, plus a small beach area in the opposite direction in the Tolomato River bank. Lots to see back there, even more so than the beach honestly. Though I had full cellular LTE bars the internet was very slow. Not the campgrounds fault of course just didn’t make sense. We were near one of their WiFi hotspots and connected our Winegard. It helped some. Still here as I write this but I think it’s safe to say our stay here is good.

Maybe it was the exhaustion from the move, but this place was truly magical and restorative. Each site is secluded in beautiful fan palms and local trees to give plenty of privacy and almost a sense of a pirate's cove. You can walk to one side of the park (across the highway) and be on the beach, or to the other side and be on the bay where there are beautiful restaurants with really delicious food. Watched the sunset on the bay and then the moon rise on the ocean in one night. Amazing. The sites are clean, level, and the campers are quiet. Being on vacation, I wasn't needing to rely on Wifi or cell service. That is good because there isn't Wifi, and the cell coverage through AT&T or Verizon was not good. This really isn't a place you would come to work anyway.Grab a blackened Mahi Sandwich at Aunt Kate's, with cheese grits and a key lime pie. Then, head over to the bay to watch the sunset as sailboats glide peacefully against the orange sky. Will definitely come back here again for a special trip.

It was especially nice to be able to walk across the main road and be on a beautiful beach that stretched for what seemed like miles. Internet service was very spotty. Our site had plenty of room for us and as a family with 5 kids under 7, it was like having our own back yard which we loved! If you bring kids here, make sure you have sand toys. With an easy walk across the road you can get to a beautiful beach that is full of whole shells which made me believe it is not a very busy place and we loved it! The campground is far enough from town that it’s quiet and not congested but close enough that everything is easily accessible. There is a publix right down the road, and a pizza joint called “Puccini’s pizza” that was delicious! We will definitely come back here!

However, the other side of the park is closer to the ocean and the pool. There was very little cell service and no wifi.

We were very impressed with this campground, it really has a state park, more so than some state parks. We were assigned a pull through (we were told we chose it, but we didn't know enough to chose a site) and we're warned it was devoid of trees and hot. We were disappointed to hear this, but upon arriving at our airport we were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't that bad. We didn't have the tree cover of other sites, but we had trees on our living side that gave us some privacy and we could still get satellite. Most sites are back-in with lots of oak trees. They are sandy, but ours was fairly level, with 50 amp full hookup. The campground has a pool, shuffle board, playground, camp store and two restaurants (one beachside and one on the intracoastal/river). You can also walk to Cap's on the Water, which I recommend since parking there can be a challenge. We had no problem navigating our rig in the campground and into and out of our site. If coming from the south, go in the first entrance, before the sign, this will make life easier. A1A is under construction from just south of the campground and for several miles north of it, but we had no issues with it. We had no problem getting satellite, but I suspect it might not work at some sites. We had good AT&T coverage and the wifi actually worked quite well. We really loved our site and the area, fairly easy access to St Augustine and the surrounding areas. We would definitely stay here again, this time for longer.

This is a private park with the feel of a state park. Located on a barrier island, it is only ten minutes from historic St. Augustine. North Beach Camp Resort is across the street from the beach, and flanked by the river in the rear, which hosts another beach and fishing pier. This campground has all the amenities of the large RV parks, yet it feels much smaller and more laid back. We enjoyed a nice long pull through site, shaded by beautiful palms. The thick vegetation between the sites was a refreshing treat after staying in many other Florida parks which had so little plant life. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. Unfortunately they charge a kid tax of $3 per child, per night. Our nightly rate reflects a Good Sam/AAA discount, plus $9 in kid taxes per night. Even with the expensive nightly rate, we LOVE this park!

This is a fairly nice campground located just off the ocean. Sites are fairly secluded but just sand with no pad or patio. Picnic tables are covered with moss. Our big problem was with the WiFi which is virtually non existent. We have a very hi-tech WiFi system and antenna and we could not connect at all. Yep, this park is expensive (the most we've ever paid) but it feels like a tiny park on the ocean when in reality it's a huge park between a city and the ocean. It's directly across a small road to the ocean and within walking distance are a few great local bars and restaurants.
