We were surprised when we arrived. There is no sign. We booked through the website and expected to arrive to a beautiful wedding venue. It’s not ready for a wedding. The entire grounds are under construction. There is flat parking on the west side. This is where larger rigs should go at this time. The east side is a road that bares left soon as soon as you enter the campground. I would not drive any large rigs in there without scouting the road first. The east side road and all the edges of the grounds need work. It looks like a bulldozer or small excavator pushed fill around and the edge need to be manicured. There is a trailer with bathrooms and showers. The shower are lukewarm with a very strong egg smell. The bathroom trailer is locked and the combo gets changed regularly. We had to contact the owner for the update because it wasn’t sent to us and there is no host on site. We saw one alligator who watched us daily. He stayed about 30 ft away from us. This place is great for birding. If you like primitive and don’t mind that it’s under construction, it’s quite beautiful. The water attracts all kinds of wild life. It’s over priced at $42 nightly boondocking considering the conditions. They do offer electric sites (20 & 30 amp) and water (strong egg smell) to two teardrop campers or one larger rig. No dump. When calling the campground phone the attendant was very polite and helpful.
