Punta Gorda has a lot to offer for a smallish town, especially if you like nature. We highly recommend the Peace River Wildlife Center as well as the Charlotte Harbor Environment Center if you want to take a short-ish hike. Lots of parks to visit as well as nearby beaches, and we found the view from the Hwy 41 bridge gorgeous, especially at sunset. The park itself has mainly retired age folk, with a few families scattered around the park. Most seemed annual or seasonal stays, but very friendly and easy to talk to. We stay during the Holidays and the park had functions for Christmas and New Year's Eve, if you like that sort of thing, as welOnll as activities almost every day during the week. We only had an issue with trying to make left hand turns to or from the park. Not a big deal with a car, but pretty steady traffic makes it a bit more patience-demanding with an RV.

Very little maneuver room on the road, took us a half-hour to back into the space. Electrical power (50Amps) was good and steady even with the daily electrical storms. Water was of good quality and had good pressure. Did not use the cable television service was an extra cost. Over the air television had strong signals and had all major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX). WiFi, extra cost, $14.95/week, dropped multiple times, did not try to stream Netflix with it, not sure it would have worked. They had an outside pool, it looked well maintained, but we did not use it. They have a laundry room in the middle of the park, also looked well maintained, but we did not use it.

The Park is a mix of transient sites and park-model housing. The full hook-up sites here are decent but a bit tight. This shouldn't be a problem since most seem to be pull-through sites, but a car was partially blocking our site so we couldn't pull through. This meant we had to circle the block (one-way streets) and back in, which was pretty challenging since the streets are very narrow and there was a vehicle (legally parked and off the street) across from us. We had to pull up & back up four times to make the angle into the site. I would say this is a pretty typical problem in the Park since we noted numerous vehicles partially or completely blocking RV sites over the 3 days we were here. I would have given the Park 4 stars except for this. The Park has a nice pool area, a shuffleboard court, etc. Everything seemed well maintained.
