Myakka River has about 80 sites, split between RVers and permanent residents. Its situated on US41 (Tamiami Trail), which is a busy highway. So it can get a bit noisy. The staff is friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is heated and fairly nice. The park has some fairly spacious sites that overlook an adjacent nature preserve. And its has some smaller interior sites. The nature preserve sites nearer to the pool are most definitely preferred as they are much cleaner. Unfortunately, some of the sites near the back end of the park could use some cleaning up.The salt water pool is small, but heated. However, there is no prohibition against tobacco use/smoking on the pool deck. So there is frequently filthy ash trays scattered around. We even saw one guest smoking while in the pool - her filthy ash tray right at the side of the pool. This isn't an all-inclusive resort type of park. But it is a decent place to set up a home base from which to explore the area.

We had a riverside site. Don't remember the site number. The main check in building has a pool and basic weight room. Guy was nice... took us to the site in golf cart and made sure we were good. Lot's of nice rigs/buses, full hookups, 30&50amp power. Sites were pavers with a table and chairs. Sites seem to be privately owned and rented out. Had some available for purchase. Beautiful place.
